Great for ethnic hair! I hardly EVER go to a regular all american salon because I am latina and have ethnic hair. I usually go to african american salons or latino salons because they tend to understand my hair better. I went to City Image Salon in Eagan after previously going for a hair cut which I liked about a year ago. This time I wanted my hair straightend. My experience at salons has showed me that 9 out of 10, if you have ethnic hair in the USA, your more likely to get your hair mistreated by a frustrated stylist. In this case I had Heather Marie when I went and I lucked out! She was really professional and she told me she had tons of experience with ethnic hair. By the end of my visit I had pin straight hair and it almost looked like I had naturally straight hair ! I definately recommend her if you have ethnic hair like me. In Puerto Rico I would spend a nice $74 us dollars to shampoo,dry and straighten my hair weekly. I got a hair cut, dry and straighten for almost half of this here! Overall the service was top notch, I recieved discount cupons for my friends and a ton of compliments from my colleagues about my hair the next day.

So... I ve been going to this salon for over 10 years and have been happy with my services (obviously or I wouldn t keep going back). HOWEVER, I don t think I will ever return after today... I had an appointment at 5:45 pm and so when I was done with work in Eagan at 430 I had to kill over an hour beforehand. So after hanging around I went to the salon at 5:40 and walk up to the door and there is a sign on the door saying closed due to weather, open again tomorrow at 9:00 . I hope you can imagine how furious that made me and how unprofessional that is. Since I ve been a client for so long, I know they have my phone number on file... How come they didn t give me a courtesy call? Also... How come your business is closed in MINNESOTA due to weather ?!?!?! That is just a poor business move. Unless they rectify this situation by comping my next service, I will NOT be returning. Will update after I speak to them tomorrow, when they re open .

I having been going to this salon for over 6 years now, and it has gone down hill!!! Turnover is high forwhatever reason which happens. I recently went in to get my hair done and it wasnt till after the lady was done cutting my hair she mentioned that she had to get her haircut approved cause she is new to the salon! I just spent how much money for someone to tell me they had to get the haircut approved. To top it off, the lady who checked my haircut, didnt even notice that my hair was uneven!!!! I thought this was suppose to be a professional salon! Why am I paying top dollar for a haircut and style when all I got was an uneven haircut and no style!! I had to turn around and go back to point it out to both of them! Warning to anyone new who goes here, make sure you are not getting a brand new person when you go in.

I dont get my hair cut often and dont have a regular place. I desperately needed a cut and chose this salon based on reviews and the fact that you dont have to make an appointment. I was acknowledged right away and didnt have to wait at all. My stylist was genuinely friendly. I have anxiety and dread going to the salon because of the sometimes awkward chatting or a stylist that insists on keeping up a conversation no matter how banal or stilted. I felt more comfortable than I ever have at a salon and like my stylist actually enjoyed making my hair look better (and it does now, by a long shot). Plus I wasnt pushed to buy products, and the price was great. I will be going back again, and hopefully have found my go-to salon!

I used to go here for haircuts in the 90s. Then when I had to start paying for other peoples haircuts along with mine I started going to chain chop shop places. I recently rediscovered this place and it came back to me how much I enjoyed it. I remember Nancy the owner from my earlier visit. She was always super pleasant and accommodating felt like she appreciated my business. If there was a Eagan business person award I believe she should get it .Now Ive had a haircut from Jackie twice and I plan on bringing my son in.

I love this salon! Ann is a great stylist...and person. I had just come from visiting my doctor as I was going to deliver triplets. I hadnt eaten and was just on time to my appointment. She offered that the pizza place next door could deliver pizza to my chair. It was amazing! To top it all off, I had the best cut and highlight that was easy to manage, looked great and I had many compliments. The service was efficient and I didnt feel like I was being rushed as I have at Coles. Thank you!!

Had a haircut with Gina about a week ago and she was fabulous! Got an appt. same day, didnt have to wait long at all upon arrival. Gina was easy to talk to, understood exactly what I wanted, and was just as excited as I was to make me walk out feeling good after not having had a haircut or anything in a very! long 2 years. Will definitely be back and think Ive finally found my hair place, and wont have to spend 2 years not sure where to go again. Thanks again Gina!

Love it here. I just moved to Eagan and desperately needed a haircut. I tried City Image Salon and I am so happy that I did. My stylist Jacki did more then I could ever wish for. I had no idea what I wanted for my haircut so I let her design my hair what she thought best. With my new haircut I feel renew and beautiful. Thank you Jacki. I will be coming back for a long time. Went there on a Monday in the morning. I was a walk in and I brought my child with me. My hair was cut by the owner. Everything was great! The owner was extremely nice to me and to my child. She cut my hair exactly as I wanted it. The salon looked beautiful and I thought the price was going to be up the roof. It was affordable in the end! Thanks for the great cut!

Got a hair cut from Angela, not a huge fan of my experience - I have really thick hair and it tends to take a while to get it shaped, etc - she didnt take her any longer than 20 mins - something Im not used to. My hair is semi-wavy/cury, and she styled it curly - today I wore it straight and now see how choppy all of the layers. Not. Impressed.
