Pretty dissatisfied with the gym and its service. No barbell bench press, dumbells go up to 70lbs, machines out of order, etc. For $10/month I wont complain if not for my other experiences. After moving out of state I called in asking to cancel my membership and they noted that usually members are required stop by the club to cancel with signature, but since I was hours away they would make. The next month the charge was taken from my account so I followed up. PF stated that a signature was required and that they would not honor the previous acceptance of my cancellation via phone and would not refund the fee. I asked for convienance sake if I could provide a signature via paper and email PF a scanned copy to immediately resolve. PF stated it had to be mailed and also to ensure they get my request I should send it through certified mail. I cant imagine the reasoning for this protocol unless intentionally making it difficult for customers to cancel their memberships. There were two other experiences at Planet Fitness that left me dissatisfied. The first was begining my membership. I paid in cash the $10 initiation fee and $10 monthly fee, but PF had no record of this so they withdrew $30 from my account the next month. I briefly mentioned it when I stopped in at one point, but I decided it not worth my time to further persue. Another time I had left my ipod in an elipitical machine which I inquired about the next time I was at the gym. The staff member who was working remembered the ipod being turned in and even named the song that was playing when it was turned in, but mentioned lost and found items are kept in a safe and the manager who has the key does not work night hours (inconvienant for me as night hours were the time I could visit). A few weeks later when I was finally able to catch the manager working she stated there was no ipod in the lost and found. Again, I dropped the issue as I placed partial blame on myself for leaving it there in the first place. Overall, the only thing to like about PF is the $10/month price, but those discounts come at a cost.

Excellent Parking ; located on the south side of Minnesota highway 36. Planet Fitness is on the frontage road that runs parallel to Highway 36; you can see it from hwy 36. Take the Fairview exit. There is also a Starbucks Coffee and a bank on the property. Planet Fitness is located in a remodeled Circuit City Electronics building. All the equipment is new and it is very spacious inside. They have a tanning area, as well as massage chairs but my membership does not include those options. They also have a cooler with energy and protein drinks. The club is very busy from about 4:00 pm to 7:30 so you will have to wait a few minutes for some machines but they do have two machines for most muscle groups. The club is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The club is clean and the staff is nice. They only have 3 or 4 showers in the mens locker room but I dont I shower there. I wait until I get home to shower. I dont like the shower area because its small and not clean enough for me, but it should be ok for most people. I practice extreme cleanliness but most people do not, so it should be good enough for most people. I suggest that you buy workout gloves to wear while working out on the machines because I notice that many of the men dont wash their hands, or dont use soap when washing their hands after using the toilet or urinal. But that is not Unique to Planet Fitness, I have notice this behavior everywhere from fitness facilities to restaurants. For $10.00 a month I am not going to complain to much.

30 years of working out in 15 countries and I would absolutely not recommend the Roseville gym. Yes, it is cheap but as they say “you get what you pay for”; extremely over-crowded; very poor gym etiquette – more phone work than weight work by too many; machine camping with no cooperative work-ins between sets; and, machine wipe down before and not after use (Come on…These are the basics‼!)… Watch out for a tall blonde woman and a young Asian male. They squat on machines for weeks, denying work-ins while checking their emails (get a home gym‼). Management and personnel are nice but not very responsible (get out on the floor‼!). Not sure how “No Judgement” is interpreted here but I’m pretty sure that having a policy and culture of “we have a standard of basic gym etiquette and we ask our customers to abide by that standard” probably wouldn’t encroach too much upon that “No Judgement” concept. Every person who has been going to a gym for more than a month and is not completely ego-centric understands and abides by the following: 1. Let people work in between sets (your body needs a minimum of 3 minutes to recover from the set you just did); 2. Leave the phone in the car for the hour that you are in the gym (unless you’re a Doctor, Paramedic or the President of somewhere or something); and, wipe down the machines AFTER you use them…. You’re supposed to be killing pathogens, not providing them with a medium to propagate…

This is a very nice, open, airy, clean gym. The staff typically greet you when you come in, and say goodbye when you leave. Equipment is generally well maintained and repaired in a reasonable amount of time. Locker rooms are clean and do not smell. This PF does not seem to rely as heavily on the anti-intimidation gimmicks as the PF in Rochester (TV commercials, and a ridiculous lug alarm that occasionally goes off). I like that the people here are not muscle-heads or intimidating, but those commercials and that alarm are extremely annoying and unnecessary. You can get a good work out without going overboard on the heavy weights... the focus is on HEALTHY exercise: toning, building and maintaining muscle tone... not on becoming a big obnoxious roid ape. The low price is amazing! Totally worth the price. One of the things I would like them to consider changing is the selection of television programming that they select; you are limited to watching 10 channels, and I really dont care for any of them that they selected. I wish they would air FOX news on at least one of their televisions (like they do in Rochester) and also, add volume to the Planet Fitness channel so you can listen to that with your earbuds while doing cardio... since there isnt much to choose from that I find interesting or worthwhile on the current television channels they air.

My 15 year old daughter suffers from SAD and ADHD. As part of her regimen for good mental health she has found working out in the afternoon, after school, is very helpful. Because I do not get home from work until 6 it is impossible for me to take her during the week. We have a 20 year old friend of the family who is willing to take her and chaperon her. This was agreed upon with the person who signed us up. After being there for a month an employee approached me and made accusations that my daughter was sexually harassing a male employee. After checking the accusations I found the accusations were false. We were not told who was making the accusations but deduced who the person. We didnt want to cause waves so we didnt pursue the false allegations. Now I wish I had. She has continued to work out at PF with her chaperone for 3 months without a problem until the worker who we deduced made the false accusations, became manager. All of a sudden he would not allow her into the gym because she was 15 years old and needed to be with a parent no exception. There were no releases I could sign. There were no apologies, no eye contact just an adamant, there are no exceptions. I cancelled the memberships and am furious that someone so inept at customer service and problem solving skills would be allowed to be in charge.
