So It;s Fri the 13th a day when one can expect nothing but fear & harm if not horror ~ So my horror begins & Ends at Minnesota Locks off Robert Street by appearance no one but Freddie Kruger could be found inside or so one would think ~ I Had finished my shopping of food for my youngest daughter Driving out from Prior Lake in My Little 86 Fiero en-route to St-Paul ~ I Buy her Groceries & Close my Trunk Get to her Apt & W.T.F. The Horror begins (The LOCK tumbler is Broken) & Bags of frozen foods trapped impossible to remove ~ So its off to a blind Hunt for help ~ I go to a few service Shops (None Cant Help) One sends me off to Minnesota Locks ~ I get there & The Young man at the counter greats with amazing Kindness ~ Offers multiple options of what we may need & In the End his best case lest expensive scenario is completed ~ Rarely do we as consumers find such Kindness when they know your at a crossroad of NO Alternatives ~ Perhaps were the term Bend Over came from ~ Now From this day forward should I need anything LOCK Related I will take this 45 min Drive anxiously knowing it will be with Kindness & Blind Faith trust my money will be spent ... & The Human care I will get will more than suffice in the added travel ... I have nothing but great things to say about this family owned business. I had locked my keys in my car, called the first ad that popped up on google search, and these two creeps in a run down van show up super late at my house asking for 145$!! When I said no, they sat in my driveway (I assume an intimidation technique) waiting for their $15 service fee. I called Minnesota Locks in West St Paul and they were super empathetic, professional and efficient. They gave me some advice to get rid of the creeps in my driveway and then sent out a normal person to get my car unlocked - which they had quoted me ahead of time vs telling me I had to wait until they came. Please dont pay $145 for someone to get your door unlocked. And go with a local place like this. super professional and so kind. thank you!

Pretty sure this is a family owned, local operation! Justin and the woman that is there are so nice and helpful. They were able to come to my house to make and program a new key for me and ordered a new key fob. When my key fob came in they programmed that without charging me fee upon fee for their time and effort. I prepaid one , reasonable amount and they stuck to it! I am really impressed. Their distributor has my specific fob on back order and Justin is going to switch them out when it comes in, no hassles, not arguments, just making it right! I highly recommend these guys! Thank you!

Minnesota Lock just programmed a key fob for my Dodge Journey and I couldnt be happier! The Price was MUCH less than the dealer and the service was very fast and polite. The internet is full of junk Chinese Fobs that dont always work for a specific vehicle, so they want you to buy ONE from them that they know will work. They programmed 2 other cheap ones I had bought on Amazon at no additional cost and I was lucky, they worked. Also, about a year ago, I lost the key to my Camper and they made a key for the specialized lock/latch and fixed it so it wouldnt stick. Nice job guys!

I was stranded in Eagan when my truck would not start. The key would not turn in the ignition. I called someone else (that was recommended to me) first. They said that it sounded like I needed a new ignition. It would be about $300 and they would not get there for at least 3 hours. Next I called Minnesota Locks. They said they would be there in 15 minutes. Justin was there really fast and was able to make a new key for me in a very short time. He was very professional and friendly and the cost was a fraction of what I was quoted at the other place.

Found Minnesota Locks on a random Google search, and Im glad we did. He worked with us to make a last minute next day appointment on a Saturday, and we were in and out of there in no time. He was very friendly. I purchased a fob off of eBay and he programmed it for me for WAY less than I had seen advertised anywhere else. He did say that fobs from eBay tend to not last, but it will get the job done for now. Highly recommend.

Bad customer service, not people friendly, very ignorant when I said I had my own fobs and key. Called them cheap, " probably wont work" the skinny young guy also broke my key and said it was cheap and not made of quality like his. Im sure he did it on purpose for up sale. Wanted $40 for a key. The rents I brought in worked fine and the key I brought in were fine. I feel like he tried to screw me. Not going here again.

I had a Keyport (v2.0) blade for my 2001 Prius cut here on July 15th. Donna didnt bat an eye and cut it right away for me. Great service, and unbeatable prices! I will be back here for all of my future key-cutting needs. Hopefully this shop or some others in the cities will start to carry keyport products...

Got locked out of my house I am selling by a careless realtor. Made an appointment at 9am for 3pm. Well 3pm came and went, no locksmith. Called and they had no record of my appointment. I have been in there before, dirty and disorganized. Save your time and money, dont call these clowns

Had a key that I needed replaced for my truck. Called them they got straight to the pointerview had me come in fixed the key tought me how to program it and I was all doe in about 5 minutes. And they were half the cost of what everyone else was charging me. Thank you

Owner is belligerent and impolite, I made an appointment for a certain time and he shows up an hour earlier huffing and puffing and angry, use another locksmith this guy has no people skills and is apparently unable to tell time.

Came in to get a copy of my car key made (laser cut) and also had them program my fob. They did an excellent job and my new key/fob work perfectly. Best prices around too. Definitely recommend going to Minnesota Locks.

Fast (I think that some of the people that complained about the speed below might not realize that it takes time to get a locksmith out - theyre busy people) and extremely reasonable pricing. Highly recommended.

This place is amazing! Another shop could have charged me $100 but this place gave me another suggestion and saved me $70! Very friendly, fast and know what the heck theyre doing! I wont ever use another shop!
