Mom and Pop Restaurant! This location was very nice and quite during our visit which was at lunch after a day at the beach. We looked this place up on internet for the "Diners, Drive-in and Dives" website and that Guy Fieri had visited this location during one of his shows. Service; the reception was very southern and welcoming! We sat outside with a view of the water, which was beautiful and calm. The service sure isnt chain restaurant type, but you will get your food hot and timely. What I mean is that, it’s very friendly and they make you feel as part of the family. They gave my children crayons and coloring paper with a drawing of a Fly that will be placed on their wall. They also have plastic fly’s for you to take home as memories and can also be used as tricking toys (freeze in ice). Food; we ordered a variety of plates to taste many options. The seafood platter was very impressive and large enough for two, especially if your a seafood lover. The hushpuppies and the shrimp were our favorite parts of the platter, the catfish was very bland and one of two had a black human hair in it. They did serve us an amazing fettuccini alfredo with grilled chicken, but thats not the type of food I would expect from a location so close to the sea. The other good order was their hamburger was good but my daughter asked for no onions and it seemed that they understood "Extra onions"! No biggie, she pulled them out and ate the burger. Price; it was a little pricey for the mom and pop feel! If it werent for the listing on the "Diners, Drive-in and Dives" website we would have never visited this location. I wouldnt repeat the visit, but its cool to say that I have been to place we saw on TV. Good luck!!

Terrible service terrible food. I do not know what happened to this place the food and service used to be great. I always used to go here when in town I went last Sunday and there were only 12 people seated when we arrived. Waitress came and took my drink order my son was in the restroom washing up at the time and she said she would return to get his order. After this a party of 8 came in and she took their drink and appetizer order served drinks and appetizers before coming back to take my sons drink order. Finally another waitress came to take our food order I guess the other waitress couldnt handle more than a party of 8. I ordered the special Fried Flounder over rice smothered in a very burnt crawfish etoufee. Flounder was way over fried and hard as a brick. Etoufee was scorched not worth eating. My son ordered stuffed flounder it was edible but nothing like it used to be. I am very disappointed on how far down hill this place has gone since my last visit. I do not know if it is new management or ownership but it is not working any more. After reading the other latest reviews I see this was not just a fluke. It is a shame but I will no longer recommend this restaurant to family or friends.

Has to be the worse place in Gulfport to eat. I should have noticed something was wrong when the picture of Guy Fieri(on the menu) only commented on an appetizer and gumbo. I just paid $51.93 for just my wife and daughter to eat, plus a fried pickles appetizer. The crawfish etouffee was awful. You can literally go to a grocery store and get it better from a frozen box. Also, the service was worse than the etouffee! And yes that is saying something. We were never greeted from the time that we walk in to the time we received our drinks. Which by the way she didnt even wait for me to finish ordering me, my wife and daughters drinks. The server spoke with a quick, mono toned, aggravated voice and never smile until she brought me the etouffee, which was the last item to come out, when she half attempted to acknowledge my daughters presence with a slight smile. But when the check came I found out why the service was so bad. Gratuity is added to the price of your meal. I would never recommend this place to anyone. I will never go here again. Please save yourself the disappointment!

What was once a great place for lunch and dinners has been transformed into a bad place to eat. We recently went back after the new ownership re-opened. My hamburger steak was ok if you overlooked the bland gray looking gravy. My wifes grilled shrimp were tasteless, the shrimp were fresh, but no flavor at all. The hush puppies were raw in the middle, ugh... the frozen french fries were ok. Well never return. The new "menu" is a paper place mat that has nothing of interest on it. The day we ate, there were three tables with diners, then two. One more couple came in as we were leaving. Normally I always see someone we know there. Not this time. The only familiar face was one waitress, the others were new. The new owner completely underestimated what he was doing by letting the previous manager and chef go. Its not "brain surgery, Doc. Either change or sink. Were not the only ones that feel like this. Over a dozen acquaintances and relatives wont go back either. The parking lot looks like a stretch of highway in Wyoming.....tumbleweed.

First time in Gulfport Mississippi.... really looking forward to some fresh seafood... my husband had the fried whole flounder, I had the seafood platter and a friend had an Alfredo seafood pasta dish... Had seen where Guy Fieri had show cased the restaurant, so expectations were high.... Our friend took one bite of her dish and couldnt eat anymore (had a very "funky" taste). The flounder was fried hard enough to pound a nail. The seafood platter had fried shrimp, stuffed crab, hushpuppies and corn fritter nuggets. With your eyes closed, other than by texture, you couldnt tell what you were eating by taste- it all tasted of old grease. The stuffed crab was inedible (tasted like old meat). My husband pulled all the crust off and ate most of the flounder...after two shrimp, I gave up. Extremely disappointed. I truly hope this was just a fluke, but will not be going there again.

Blow Fly Inn used to be one of the best restaurants to get seafood poboys and gumbo in the Gulfport area. The onion ring basket was out of this world, and everything was always seasoned to perfection. Which is why I should have known better when the waitress tried to warn us that it was under new ownership. What used to be more thinly sliced onion rings than 3 people could comfortably eat piled up on a plate has become 12 prepackaged, thick and tasteless onion rings on a plate. Everything is now bland and mediocre. The shrimp tastes like something that you could get from any microwave dinner, the fries are bland potato wedges, and the gumbo that they were famous for isnt even on the menu. This place isnt worth the old namesake, not even close.

This is no longer a triple D restaurant!!! New owner, new cook trying to capitalize on previous managements good work!!!!Was real excited to try this restaurant due to the hype from Diners, drive ins and dives. I felt a bit let down. It was dead during the dinner rush which was already a red flag for me. The service was fine (a few forgotten items by the waitress that we ordered) and staff was friendly. Fried green tomatoes were freshly fried and crisp. Most of the family was happy with what they ordered. However, my wifes blackened chicken sandwich was so tough it was inedible. She couldnt get past its texture and lack of flavor. My blackened catfish was awesome. We thought it was a bit over priced for its ambiance and what they are selling.
