Looks like no one has written a review for this place in 10 months to a year. I have been ordering pizza and pasta from here for the last 3 years and I can tell you the cutting corners and inconsistency has made itself quite obvious. I ordered my food on a school night at 4:25 making an effort to avoid the 5 oclock rush. I waited for over an hour and half to have my order wrong, and called back to let them know and the girl was nice to give me a credit and then I opened my garlic bread and it was rubber. I have worked in kitchens and I know hour old, 2 day old bread when I see & taste it, not to mention the 1.50$ they charge for meatballs that are half the size they were 3 months ago.I called back and was told a pizza will be on its way and some fresh bread. Two minutes later the owner calls and tells me to go somewhere else for my pizza and "will I please take my money back", not telling me the other pizza is not coming. I say sure and I wait for the other pizza for 40 minutes. I call back and ask whats up and he says " I will bring you your money in 40 min" I say dont bother and head there for my money. I get there and he begs me to give him another chance..after he tells me, on the phone, go somewhere else for my pizza. Instead of getting my order correct, the owner tells me to go somewhere else.. I will spend my money somewhere else, this makes me sad. This is the 3rd time that they put tons of cheese on my pie after I asked for light cheese. I even talked to the owner a few orders back and he agreed with me the " Kids" working there put way too much cheese on your pizzas. Bummer.

The food would have been delicious, if we had gotten what we ordered. Me and my grandparents had never been here, so decided to come and check it out. We ordered essentially a meat lovers pan style pizza. But instead received a flat crust pizza. Our waitress was extremely rude and told us it was our fault that we got the wrong thing because they didnt serve meat lovers as a pan style. She only told us after we got our pizza and we complained. She said "oh I thought you said thin crust cause thats how its made. We dont serve pan meat lovers like that." She then went and ordered another pizza even though we said we didnt want another as we had already started eating, and wanted to charge us for both pizzas! We continued to complain and she only discounted our drinks. She never apologized, she never repeated our order (which would have prevented the whole thing), and she didnt initially stop us and say "hey we dont do it that way but we can create it another way if thats what you want". We were ignored half the time we were there and had to flag her down multiple times. It was absolutely horrible service. But if you like thin crust pizza, it was alright.

We recently walked in and ordered carry out. We left much of the ordering up to the owner and wait staff- asking "what do you recommend?" "what is the best?!". We ordered a pizza and two pastas. The server was charming and very friendly and we could not have been more pleased with her assistance. When we arrived home we opened a pizza box to find loads and loads of ooey gooey cheese on our pizza loaded with grease. The pizza crust was sub-par. We ordered the Spaghetti with Oil and Garlic as well- the pasta was mush and drowning in a pool of oil. As recommended by the server we also ordered "Nonnas famous lasagna". We took a few bites of again- 5 hour mushy pasta, and melted cheese swimming in marinara sauce. Oh dear, and we couldnt possibly forget the garlic bread! Agh! It is truly a shame that so much food went to waste last night. If you are looking for authentic Italian food this is not the place to go. You will get nothing more than authentic AMERICAN Italian food & $40 later will wish that you ordered delivery from Pizza Hut (Yes, it was THAT bad). Make the trip to Lombardinos or Cafe Porta Alba instead!

Yay for a gluten-free pasta place! One of my family members cannot eat wheat and we are usual forced to burger joints where it can be ordered without a bun. La Belli Italia is a great neighborhood spot and our go-to when we dont want to think about finding dinner. Their portions are really nice sized and the specials are always interesting and reasonably priced. My favorite dish is a the butternut squash ravioli (*I dont know if this dish is seasonal or not). They bring bread to the table - and if you are a bread lover, try the garlic bread - it is fantastic. This is a small restaurant so the wait can be long if you get there later in the day - I think that they do have a carry out / take out option as well. Definitely worth the try if you havent been here before.

after spending near a thousand dollars at this neighborhood place for great dinners over many years and even recommending it to friends, they finally really screwed us over. Tonight we ordered (2 overpriced) Calamari appetizers. (1) was great. The other was WAY under-done. I was hungry, ate it, then called them. No satisfaction - my mistake - new cook or "whatever" mistake with their quality control = dissatisfied customer... and we were GREAT customers. Spend your money elsewhere, where they actually care about quality. MINUS 3 stars out of 5--we also have had several pizzas arrive fairly under-done or just wrong. Maybe cook problem, who knows. Always tipped well. Frustrating from our end - we really were good patrons. Sad.

Since moving to the Madison Area in 07, I have been looking for the kind of pizza that I have had access to my whole life. I grew up in the Stateline area including Illinois. Chicago is where the best pizza in the USA comes from and the majority of the Italian family owned restaurants from the Suburbs to Rockford and up to Beloit have the same style pizza in variation. I have tried a lot of the local Pizzas with stand outs at Bucks, Pizza Oven, Rosatis, and Falbo Bro. Cafe Bell is hands down the best pizza in Madison. This pizza takes me back home. May not be Vito and Nicks, Chicagos, or Giusseppes in Rkfd, but it sure is in that wheel house.

I order from this place almost 3 times a week and always received great service in the past until today... I ordered my food.....the same thing everything time.... Only this time half of my food didnt come no garlic bread.... No pasta and red sauce.. I called to try to politely fix things.... The young lady that was on the phone was very confused and didnt listen as much as she talked.... Long story short this was a much nicer place when the older ladies where working and could handle things the younger girls dont work well under pressure...... Lost a good customer

Went to dine here this evening with my fiance. Out appetizers, calamari and garlic bread were fairly good, but her meal, the seafood cananoli (however you spell it) was disgusting and tasted like catfood. And then...I found several pieces of translucent plastic in my pasta. Literally. Our waitress was kind and offered to have it remade, gave us a free piece of cake, and a $15 gift certificate, but I cant over the pieces of plastic. I wouldnt trust the chefs again, who knows what else could be in there while theyre not looking. Disappointing.
