I had been a hit and miss customer at this CarX location over the past 10 years but had been pretty loyal since 2012 when I became acquainted with manager Jeff Rickermann. He was terrific and I felt that I was in good hands with him whenever I needed any service for my cars. Unfortunately, he left this position due to a promotion and the new manager did not live up to my expectations. I felt like I had nowhere to go to receive trustworthy service. However, I did bring in one of my cars for an oil change yesterday and boy, was I pleased. I met the new manager, Dustin Butler, and he is great. He was personable, courteous, and very knowledgeable. These were all the same attributes that Jeff had. We discussed several different makes and models of cars and their individual pros and cons. He really had a good perspective on a number of car-related issues in my opinion. Also, the work on my car was done very efficiently. I was very impressed about the way Dustin seemed to run the operation. I think this location is once again in good hands and I am very happy that I still have somewhere to go where I can get excellent service that I can trust.

We have been doing business with this CarX for about two years now. I am always iffy about where I take the car for repairs. There is so many places out there that will and do rip you off. They sell you things that you dont really need or dont really fix the problem. This CarX is not one of those places. They fix your car and are not out to rip you off. They dont try to sell you things you dont need. Yes, they will tell you what needs to be fixed but that is their job after all. Its not about getting you to pay more money its about making your car last longer. Scott and the guys there are top rated guys. They work hard and get the work done. I have struts replaced on my car front and back and could not ask for a better job. They care about the customers needs and work hard to make sure your car is fixed the right way. So you can either take your car to a place and get ripped off or take it here and get your car fixed right at a reasonable price! Your choice. Thanks

I made an appointment to have my car inspected after I saw an add for a free state inspection. I decided to call to make sure it was free, and was told you had to purchase some other service. I checked the add again and told him there was no mention of purchasing another service, he then ask me if the only reason I was coming to carx was because it was free. I said yes, and he asked me why I was not being loyal to whom ever was servicing my car before. I told him to cancel my appointment and that I thought he was rude, he in turn told me I was rude. I told him in this economy I thought you would treat your customers better, he then told me their business was just fine. I had had enough and asked to speak to his manager and he said he was the boss, I then asked who was his boss and he said my wife, then he said call whoever you want, Im not worried I have worked here for a long time. Not only did I cancel my appointment so did four other family members.

I found this location because I heard their ad on the radio for a free state inspection. It just so happened I needed one and I like free things. I made my appointment and found my mechanic! Jeff, the manager, is perhaps the only truly honest mechanic left on earth. I know nothing about cars other then they are a great way to get to work and to go out for dinner. So car speak...I dont know it. Jeff explained to me very simply what things are recommended for my vehicle at its reached mileage and because he knew my budget was a factor, he recommended to me only the items that needed to be performed. This is the first time in my life that I feel perfectly comfortable in taking my car to get serviced. I used to take it to the dealer for maintenance...but NO MORE! I would highly recommend Ballwin Car-X for any work you need done. Theyll get it done. Theyll do it correctly. Theyll guarantee it. And youll be glad you did!

These guys are awesome, and the Manager at this location, Scott Yankey is one of the best guys going. Just take your car in there for an oil change. Youll see that he knows most customers that walk in by name. You dont get to that level if youre not getting repeat business. I read the other reviews, and mostly because most consumers are "afraid" of automotive repair they typically feel like they get screwed. I understand that, but in my experience these guys are the bees knees and I send all of my friends and family to see Scott.

I guess you cant make everyone happy all the time, but, Scott and crew at Carx ellisville are straight shooters and dont sugar coat it when your car is in need of serious repair. I have used them for most all of my auto needs and can say that they are fair priced and dont sell you something you dont need. I wouldnt give the negative reviews much weight here as I know many people that wouldnt go anywhere else. Scott and the boys are top shelf go and see them and youll see why so many people call them home for their auto needs.

One word describes these guys: HONEST. I was told by another shop that my Mazda needed a completely new exhaust system at a cost of $1900. I took it to Car-X. They put it on the lift and showed me that although my exhaust had some surface rust it was perfectly usable and all I needed to replace was the second cat. Since aftermarket support for my particular model is poor, they fabbed up a new cat for my car and had me going again for well under $500 in about 2 hours tops. Not sure where the good reviews are coming from. Was in there a few weeks ago with my friend getting her oil changed. They decided to give us a list of various other things "wrong " with the car- total wouldve been well over $300. One of the many things, was that the cars power steering liquid was way too low, they said. However, come to find out its as full as it should be. Nothing but liars looking to get some more money. Make sure you know beforehand what your car needs and doesnt need.

I was quoted a price for oil change and tire rotation which I committed to. When I arrived I was told that price was only for a multi-pack of oil changes, not just 1. I was able to work out a fairly reasonable price for just 1 though. It then ended up taking over an hour to complete. They were not busy and several bays were open. Three different times I looked out there and all employees were just standing around, includ5the manager, Dustin. Quite disappointed.
