I worked for Fenton Play and Learn for almost 4 years, mainly with the infants and toddlers and while I worked here, my son also attended. I can promise you that this is one of the best childcare centers in the area and I am shocked to see some of these former parents leave such bad reviews. I worked in the rooms that Mrs. Enloe, Shaw, and Palazolas children attended (they were babies and toddlers). I can tell you that the reviews they left are not true. First off, if you really had problems from day one, why would you leave your child there for the next seven months? The first parent was asked to find a different center because she was insisting that we build a shed on our parking lot so she could leave her car seat here. She started causing problems with the teachers in our room and other parents. Mrs. Shaw got upset because she was out of town and the person that was dropping her daughter off to us wasnt authorized to sign medical forms. The state does not allow us to give medications without the parents signature on the forms. Mrs. Palazola didnt bring her child in for 2 weeks, didnt pay tuition and didnt have any contact with the center and then got mad when she wanted to bring her son back and we didnt have room for him. Licensed daycares have strict rules that they have to go by or they can be written up. People saying that the office staff was rude were usually the ones throwing a fit because they didnt pay tuition on time and or even during the grace period and had to pay a late fee or were mad because they wanted something that we couldnt do because of strict licensing rules. Miss Dee was always fair and went above and beyond for her teachers and parents. We had strict rules by state licensing that we had to follow and sometimes the parents didnt like those rules but we still had to follow them and when you try to explain something to a parent and they dont want to hear it they say the office is rude. I actually felt sorry for the ladies in the office at all they had to put up with. Some parents can be so difficult. I loved working there and loved the kids I worked with. They have been in business for a LONG time and there is a reason for that. One of the little boys in my classroom, his mom even went to Fenton Play and Learn as a child. That says something right there! My coworkers were great and I miss them a bunch. My son learned so much while he was there. When I move back into the Fenton area I hope to be able to go back to work there!

Weve had our children at Fenton Play and Learn for almost 2 years. In that time, our children have been well cared for and happy. They come home with beautiful art projects and learning activities. As an educator, I am impressed with the vocabulary they learn. I was thrilled to hear my 22 month old identify a triangle and my 4 year-old retell the butterfly life cycle- all learned at Fenton Play and Learn! The teachers have all been warm and kind, and also are competent in managing behavior. The staff is very aware of the child to adult ratio and always ensure that each child is supervised and safe. The facility is exceptionally clean. The fairy tale murals, model train running through the lobby and birdcage in the office make the building fun and stimulating for children. I have not found any members of the staff to be unfriendly. When you enroll your child, a you initial and sign a very clear contract about the policies of the center. These policies are best practices for an early childhood center and Im glad the staff strictly adheres to them. It keeps the children safe which is my number 1 priority in a childcare facility. At times, it may be inconvenient for an individual (like when a child is sick and must stay home 24 hours), but the safety of all children is the most important. We are confident that Fenton Play and Learn is a wonderful facility for our children to learn and grow during their preschool years.

My brother and sister and I attended Fenton Play and Learn in the late 1980s and early 1990s over the course of 9 years until we each started Kindergarten. We all did great in school and I think that has to do with the great start we received at Fenton Play and Learn. Miss Dee, the director, was always great in working with my mom and dad when my brother had some behavior issues. My brother has gone on to graduate college and all three of us are successful in our careers. When it was time to look for childcare for my newborn son my mom was thrilled to hear that we looked at my old school. After touring and speaking with Miss Dee, the director, it was an easy decision and one that we have been very happy with! She remembered my siblings and even shared some stories about our time there with me. My son will be moving on to kindergarten in just a couple of weeks and is going to miss the friends, teachers and staff he has come to know and love over the past 5 years at Fenton Play and Learn. He has had such a great experience here and I know he is well prepared for kindergarten. I cannot thank the teachers and ladies in the office for all that they have done for our family. It really feels like you are a part of our family now. We wont be missing you for very long, as we are due with our second child in early December and we will be booking our spot soon!

The best decision we made for our girls was to enroll them at Fenton Play and Learn. Prior to starting and Fenton Play and Learn we had been at two other local daycares but we werent happy seeing teachers on their cell phones instead of watching our girls and really not learning anything. We love the fact that at Fenton Play and Learn our girls are the focus of the teachers in their room. I picked up early one day while the children were coming to snack and the teachers were talking to the children about using their manners and they were reminded and praised in regards to their manners while having their snack. I was extremely impressed! The girls have learned so much since starting here including sign language and I loved the human body maps they made! My oldest told us all about what your kidneys and liver does, lol. The building is always clean and the teachers are very loving with the children and the office staff are awesome and extremely helpful anytime we have questions. I feel the girls are safe there knowing that the front door has a security system and that all the classrooms and playground are monitored with a video surveillance system. This place is a gem and I wish we had discovered them sooner!

Think Twice Prior to Sending Your Little Ones to Fenton Play and Learn! We were enrolled at Fenton Play and Learn for approximately seven months… In those seven months we had numerous issues with the management… Starting on day ONE! That should have been our clue that this Center was not the right one for our family. The owner is extremely rude and disrespectful to the parents (her paying clients that keep her in business.) The owner’s daughter that works at the front desk is rude as well, but that is to be expected, since the tone is set at the top. The only thing that kept us at this center for the time we were there were the nursery room teachers. They were all so kind and seemed to really like being around the babies. In the short time we were enrolled, there was a large turnover rate, but I cannot blame the teachers for moving on to better. I recommend doing your due diligence prior to enrolling. Most of the reviews on this center are negative, for a reason! The management is completely burnt out and needs to get out of a business that deals with children (and their parents.)
