"What did I like about it?" ..... absolutely nothing! We recently moved. My husband is a 100% disabled vet. We have moved MANY times, 2 of the 6 moves being overseas. I have never experienced anything like this before. My couch was broken in the move (wood on chase portion snapped), torn leather, dirty cushions on the fabric portions bc it was thrown in a crate not wraped or anything and lost legs. We were offered a crap dollar amount ($990) and told to buy a replacement sectional couch from Amazon. Our couch, same color, material and size, is from Ashleys and costs $1399 BEFORE taxes and delivery. A brand new entertanment center was scratched up and a fireplace insert had the cord ripped from the back (we were denied any compensation bc they said they couldnt prove it happened durning the move). Which is funny bc on the inventory sheet, it does not mention a thing about it being broken or a ripped cord. My granite dinning room table was gouged and my table leg some how was crack straight through (from Oak Express) its a very heavy table. The table could collapse bc of the leg being damaged. Theres NOTHING on the inventory sheet about this damage, the movers caused when putting the table togethet and placing it on its side while flipping it over. They offered $125 for the damage. YOU CANT REPLACE THE LEG AND FIX GOUGES FOR THAT PRICE! The list is long in damages. Bent pots. Broken dishes. Broken grandfather clock. Its pretty pathetic how our shipment was treated if you can bend a STEAL COOKING POT into an oval. The kicker. After we got our first offer for the damage. In the email, it stated FINAL offer.... after first and only offer??? We emailed the their claims adjuster (J. Leathers) who works for Cartwright, we denied the offer and we were told to get estimates for the things that we felt werent fair prices. So we went to ashleys, got the printed out quote with taxes and delivery, Oak Expression for our diningroom table. Best buy for our tv (the screen was sliced with a box cutter when unpacked). An hour after faxing all these things to them. We were denied (through email) and told, Offer stands were is. Needless to say, to hurry up the process we accepted the very low offer.... 2 weeks after finalizing, NO CHECK from the company. I give one star bc we did get full value for our distroyed grandfather clock and for the crew that delievered/unpacked our shipment (other than that, Id give zero stars). They were very nice and pointed out damages as they unpacked, even called their boss to tell them how poorly everything was packed and on our broken couch. AVOID CARTWRIGHT!! Or at least take pictures of everything of value or thats large. Make sure they write down its in working condition on inventory sheet, if electronical. Dont get screwed like we did. **UPDATE** It has be 10 weeks since our claim started. We have yet to receive our settled upon monetary agreement for reimbursement, We settled and accepted their offer OCT. 19th 2015. I have the voice mail from Don (one of the managers?) telling us last week (6 Nov.) that our check was "scheduled" to be cut Monday (9 Nov). It obviously wasnt.. We called Cartwright in Grandview, Missouri, where our claim was handled, first person told us there was no check to be cut for us. When we told the lady on the phone that there was one and that there was clearly an error, we were placed on hold for 10 min. She came back on the phone after the 10 min wait and said there was an error in the system. We were told we would receive our check next week (16 Nov.-20 Nov.) ....... Whats up with yall, Cartwright?????? Why are checks scheduled to be cut weeks after settling on an offer? Is it not bad enough that a familys belongings were ruined, that you go and add salt to a wound by pretty much holding us over the barrel to close out our claim and accept a low offer but THEN make us wait a ridiculous amount of time for a reimbursement check. This company has no care for its customers.

I never write reviews. But, some members of this company are horrible. I did not choose this company... the Army told me this lowest bidder would move my household goods and eventually destroy pretty much everything of value. If, you are military request another company or move yourself. They destroyed my entire master bedroom set, 55" TV, solid oak kitchen table, two bookcases, two lamps, and a brand new sectional, etc. I had to throw away many items due to mildew and mold. Going through the military claims process I was eventually transferred to Don Carroll of Cartwright. I talked to him for a few minutes before he accused me of breaking my own belonging, and that I was at fault. I asked to speak to his supervisor and was told that he does not have a supervisor. So, i guess Don Carroll is the CEO of Cartwright. I have never felt so disrespected and talked down by someone that is making money off of me.I have already wasted over 14 hours going through the military claims process and so far nothing.... Looks like Cartwright can destroy over $12,000 of my belongings and still get paid by the government. If anyone gets bored, please join me in writing the Better Business Bureau, your Congressmen and women, Senators, military transportation, etc about this company and/or why the military gets serviced by a company with 2.3 stars. As I look through the reviews a Donald Carroll have Cartwright a 5 star review??????

The packer were unprepared, sloppy and had little regard for what they were packing. After they said they were finished, I had to walk around and collect random items that they just decided not to pack (i.e. a boot, kids toys, DVDs, etc.) and specifically ask them to pack them. They also did not bring a large enough truck for all our stuff, so they had to sit around and wait for another truck to show up. If that wasnt bad enough, I called the company the day before our estimated delivery date (10 days after pickup date) to see what time we should expect them only to find out that our stuff hadnt even left the origination state yet and that we wouldnt get our stuff for over a week past our estimated delivery date! After our stuff finally showed up and we started unpacking we found many broken/crushed items that we must now file claims for. If I had to do it over again I would have packed my house myself and driven it myself. I have used moving companies before and absolutely loved them, but this has been the worst experience I have ever had with any company I have had to work with. Do yourself a favor and use someone else.

Absolutely awful service and this company should be dropped from military contract. Not only is our shipment 3 weeks past the due date, it took them a week to figure out the majority of my shipment had actually arrived, but one crate was left at port and another was just found to be back at the original shipping state where we moved! Youd think that since they found out the bulk of the shipment is here theyd deliver it, but NO! They apparently were going to wait for the other crates they left behind to trickle in before delivering my HHG and we still dont have a date for when theyll be delivering what they actually have. Were 3 weeks past our original delivery date people!!! Make it happen!! Im going to work with TMO, my congressman, anyone I can to get this contract dropped! We do not need this level of stress when moving and Im sure there are other companies out there who would love to have this govt contract and theyd actually do their job.
