I am so upset with the service I have received from Golds Gym Liberty. When my husband and I first signed up we explained that we did not want to commit to a yearly contract due to the fact that we have a mentally handicapped daughter who would be coming with us. She would not be using the equipment--only sitting and waiting for us. We did not know if this situation would work, so we were told we could cancel at any time. That eased our minds, so we joined thinking we had the same agreement. Why would we want two different agreements, anyway? We found that the situation was not working for us, so today when I went to cancel, my husbands went through fine, but my contract states that I am liable through June. What? Why would we have willingly agreed to this? I was way too trusting of the club, evidently. I received my contract and my husband received his. I was unaware that mine was any different from his, and he was unaware that his was different from mine. I feel that we were misled when we were told we could cancel at any time. Now it is simply my word against theirs. Simply put--be very aware of what you are signing at Golds Liberty.

My wife and I were originally members of Aspen Fitness, before it was purchased by Golds Gym in 2014. The Aspen Fitness fee was $10/Month for basic membership, $20/Month for classes, and $30/Month for the last tier (which included some training). I paid for the $10 membership and $20 membership for my wife, since no guys do the classes anyway. We paid for the annual contract, just because its more convenient than paying monthly. We went to renew our membership and found out that because we signed up annually, they were not obligated to the same fees (however, the monthly clients were). The new fees at the gym are approximately $35/Month (250% increase), and there is no tiered structure. Which is more than we were paying together before. We were also told that they will be looking for any violations of contract to remove those lower original Aspen Members. Basically I might pay $20/Month, but there is no way this place is worth $35/Month, which is absolutely insane considering the size, amenities, and equipment offered (which is minimal at best). Look around there are a lot better facilities for the money.

UPDATED...im not happy since the change over. They are charging everyone for kids club even when their original contract was negotiated differently. Then they made you sign another contract!! Its not as clean as it was before either. Now all their Les Mills classes are going. They make you resign your contract and then change the classes. Its not honest. Im very disappointed. When my contract expires Ill be looking for another gym for sure! Prices went up and the standards went down. Not good value for the money Im now paying every month. UPDATE!! I went in today in attempts to negotiate my kids club issue again. This time to my GREAT surprise I was offered a deal I couldnt refuse! The manager Connor helped me. He mentioned some new mats coming and some other changes. Im interested in seeing some of these things come to fruition. Because of todays experience Im changing my rating number. CREDIT WHERE CREDITS DUE! Ill be back in a few months with another update. Hoping things continue to get better.

I NEVER thought that I would be one of "those gym rats". I always thought that gyms were for self absorbed people. After 4 years of personal injuries and moving slower and getting chubby I finally had enough. I met with the people at Genisis and ended up joining. Its been a month and i am already seeing changes. I go really early and workout for an hour ebery day except weekends. The people are really friendly and will offer advise and just chat about whats working for them. While there are a few people with knockout physique most are just ordinary people like me working out problem areas. I do have a Trainer for 3 months just to help me know what I should be doing and how to workout properly so I dont get injured. He is amazing and really listens to me and what I want to accomplish. So I am now a"gym rat" and feeling better about myself. I look forward to each morning workout and leave feeling enetgized.

pros: The gym and equipment are kept very clean at all times, and the equipment is of the highest standards. There are plenty of free weights for everyone to use, especially bellow 30lb. The staff is very friendly and the membership fees are reasonable. The addition of a sauna and kids club are nice This is a gym and not some fancy lounge like planet fitness. Most the people who regularly go there and body builders and there are few people who dont know what they are doing which is nice. Cons: It can get very busy after 5 For some reason on Wednesdays all the squat racks are taken. A few people resting on the equipment and not using it.

If I was allowed to give ZERO stars I would. My wife and I walked in to learn more about their memberships for our daughters. Immediately we were told we had to fill out a "disclaimer" asking for personal info - we refused - we mentioned again we just wanted to learn more - the front desk person who seemed to have a lack of knowledge referred us to someone in membership - he was rude and seemed to care less. I asked to see a contract but was told no. - that was enough for us - and you wonder why a lot of fitness centers have a bad reputation.

Ok gym. TERRIBLE customer service!!!! Inappropriately charged my credit card multiple times and then refused to reverse the charges. Wasted lots of time talking to both rude, worthless "mangers". (not really sure what there job is because they didnt manage to do anything but rip me off) Beware!! This is a LOW CLASS establishment only interested in getting as much money from you as possible. Childcare is also overcrowded/understaffed. Will never be a member at any Golds Gym again.

Worst gym EVER. Liberty one sucks. Employees try to overpower you. If you try to cancel they try to give you free stuff other than making your membership lower. I am paying 50 a month and my friend is paying 25 for them. When I tried to cancel my membership they told me if I have someone join they can drop my payment to 38 a month. Why cant you drop it already either way! Worse gym ever again. I will never go back or recommend anyone here!

Since the switch from Golds Gym to Genesis everything fell into pieces. Bad management, group class coordinator who fires the best instructors just for jealousy, overpriced memberships and not appropriately equipped weight room. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. Youre treated like a wallet. NOTHING ELSE. Its sales what they care the most not your heath. Ive been here for 2 year and since the switch I cant wait for my membership to be over.

Im very disappointed since Genesis took over Golds. There is never anyone in charge when I am there, mostly during peak hours. The yoga class was late today. Then the music was very loud and I couldnt hear the instructor. I left in the middle of class. You have the opportunity to have a great business. An experienced, strong management team would be great- not a daycare of teenagers. Cleanliness would be a HUGE plus!
