After a routine oil change revealed a problem with my brake line, my previous mechanic quoted me $1000 to get it fixed. Since I dont have that kind of money (who does?), I decided to get a second opinion. Combs came highly recommended from several of my friends and co-workers, so I decided to give them a try. Not only were they very courteous and friendly, but they quickly identified the problem, called me with a quote, and completed the repair quickly. (I dropped the car off at 8, it was ready by noon.) Best of all was the price, which came to a tiny fraction of the quote I got from my previous mechanic. Since then (admittedly only a few weeks so far), theyve continued to treat me very well. Shortly after this repair was completed, my check engine light came on (its an 02, so not a new car anymore - Im getting used to problems. >.<). I was so pleased with their work on my brake line that I called Combs about it. They were able to run a diagnostic, and assured me that it wasnt a vital repair, so I could put it off until Im able to save a bit of money. All in all, I like their professionalism, how they treated me as a single woman, their expertise and efficiency, and how they understand that Im just trying to keep my car running safely (and avoiding unnecessary repairs) until Im out of school.

I can rest assured when it comes to having a car repair place where you can trust you will get the best service and will have the experts there explain to you what is wrong with your car and what has been done to repair your car. If it is a simple fix, they will explain that to you too. They are straight shooters who are interested in meeting the needs of their customers and not getting the most money out of you like many car repair places. This family owned and operated business has workers who are honest, efficient, reliable, and friendly. I take all of my vehicles to Combs Auto Service, and they are very good at getting my work vehicles back quickly, even fitting me in when they are super busy when one of my work vehicles breaks down. Dont forget they also do tire repair. We run over many nails in St. Louis city and they repair these tires very quickly. I highly recommend this car repair service, having used them now for 20 years.

My husband and I were driving back to TX after visiting family up north over the holidays. Right outside of MO, our trailer tire blew out. We put on a spare and realized the last spare we had was bad. We were already frustrated because my husband is military and needed to be back on base that night and we were running behind schedule due to the blow out. Luckily, we stumbled upon Combs and they were able to not only fix the spare tire, but give us another spare tire for a VERY great price! They were also kind enough to fix the tire before store hours since they had arrived early that day. I HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone. I actually made this account just so I could leave a review! They provided great customer service, and I only wish their facility was based out of Texas so I could visit them again. Thank you SO much, Combs Auto Service! I will leave a review on your website as well.

Combs is a place where you may take your auto and receive service that is high quality and done properly. Also, you will receive service of integrity. Patrick, John & Scott are outstanding people whom I have witness been nothing but fair. Once I witness a lady come in while I was waiting for my car, who had a rattling type noise. In short, they fix it and did not even charge her. It was stated, "it was not that big of a deal we just did this and that and it did not take long therefore, no charge. She still offered to pay but the gentleman did not except and she graciously thanked the gentleman and left. That was first class and I personally feel like the many times I have gone there that I have been treated fairly and truthfully. I would highly recommend to anyone who want a job well done and reasonable as well. Thanks Combs Team!

Combs is awesome. Theyve always treated me with respect, and theyre a great bunch of guys! I dont know how may times Ive walked through their door thinking I needed tires or some perceived fix and they told me not to worry -- your tires have lots of life in em, and we checked your noise and found nothing to worry about. (Guess its usually the loose nut behind the wheel.) When they do make a repair, theyre always honest and timely. Cant say how good it is to have a place I can trust my cars -- and my kids cars -- to. Then theres the sports museum inside, the friendly banter, and the marquis outside (dont know what Im talking about? Go check it out. Genius.) Combs is truly like the bar in "Cheers." Everyone knows your name, and theyre there to make you happy. Lifes too short for crappy, chain car repair places.

I have been taking my rides to Combs for over two decades. I really cant say enough good about this shop and all the folks that work there. This is a second generation family business and you will find Scott Combs (son of Bill Combs) in there most days. These folks are fast, in spite of always being busy. They are beyond fair and honest. I routinely take a vehicle up there with a long laundry list of things to check over and often they tell me "No, you are good to go, everything checks out." They have always been kind and gracious in working with me to keep my vehicle on the road when times were lean. If you take your car to Combs you arent taking it to a shop, you are taking it to people, Scott, Pat, John, and they mean to make it right. Its personal for these folks. I wont take my ride anywhere else.

My daughter, Rebecca, was in town over the 4th of July holiday, visiting for a week. I noticed a rather large grease spot on the driveway, under her car. As she would be traveling back to Rochester, NY within a few days, I decided to call Patrick at Combs and have the vehicle looked at. Patrick got her in right away. Rebecca had an oil change just before she left for her trip to St. Louis. After looking things over, it was determined the oil drain cap was replaced crookedly by the mechanic in Rochester who performed the oil change. They topped off all the fluids and checked everything over carefully, after which they returned the car over to Rebecca, without charging us for anything. Combs provides superior customer service, which has kept us loyal customers of Combs for over 30 years.

The day before Christmas Eve we were traveling through enroute to southwest Missouri. It was afternoon and we lost a wheelbearing. We just happened to exit I-44 at Kirkwood. The Wal-Mart auto repair sent us to Combs (we had no idea where to go). What we found was fast friendly staff, ready to listen to our issue and try to help. They were booked solid and couldnt get us in until after Christmas weekend, but took the time to start calling place they knew who could maybe help us. They sent us to another great place and we were back on the road in record time. Combs went above and beyond to help two stranded travelers get their repairs and have a wonderful holiday! If I lived local they would be my garage of choice....no wonder they were booked solid!! Thanks Combs!
