A+++ Highly recommended. First of all, I always read reviews for local businesses so that I make an informed decision. Because of the numerous negative reviews, I was hesitant to take my expensive hardware to this location. I did find some better rated businesses in the area, but they were closed down. I was down to this place or the Geek Squad. I made a call, explained my situation, and was transferred to Jeff. He listened to my concerns and recommended me to try their service by explaining in basic terminology what the technician would do to troubleshoot the problem with my machine. So here comes the meat of this review. I arrived at the location to find a woman behind the counter. I will acknowledge that her customer service skills are not top notch, but I did not come there to treat the shop as a restaurant to leave a penny for a tip for bad cook-waiter/waitress service. Regardless, the woman did her job as there was no confusion in mixing up my hardware with someone elses upon pickup. The price I was given was well worth the results. I made my return visit a few days later to get a status update. I met with Jeff and he told me exactly what the results of their diagnosis was. I had 16GB of RAM spread across 4 sticks and Jeffs Computers spent the time to run tests on each stick to find out which stick needed to be replaced. Because of the constant bluescreens of death that became blackscreens of death, my 1TB hard disk drive (HDD) became corrupted to the point that it would bluescreen of death when plugged into a different machine in normal boot, safe mode, and system restore. There was no possible way for me to get the data off the HDD in that condition. Jeff charged me for 1 stick of 4GB RAM and a half hour of labor on the return visit with my consent. People may have posted negative reviews because they were charged extra labor because they did not sign the line on the receipt that clearly states not to allow this service to happen. Either way, the price was very fair when Jeffs Computers restored my corrupted HDD without any data loss as well as diagnose 4 sticks of RAM and exchange 1 stick only to restore the hardware into working order. I have had no issues with the HDD or the rest of the hardware since my visit to Jeffs Computers. No, I am in no way related to Jeff or anyone that works for the company. I just felt that Jeffs Computers deserved an honest and quality review. I would certainly recommend the computer hardware and software repair service and ignore the alleged lack of people skills from people that are not outgoing. Hope this helps you make an informed decision!

I will start this by saying I have NEVER written a bad review on a product or company but I honestly feel I have no choice. Jeff is bad news. I wish I had taken the other bad reviews on this site more seriously before going there! I wanted to patronize a local business Vs. taking my laptop to Geek Squad or Micro Center. MISTAKE! My backlight on my laptop screen was out (a common issue for Sony Vaio laptops). I took my laptop to Jeff...he said it is likely the screen, promptly charged me $100 up front (Micro Center only charges $45) and said he will be in touch. I had to follow up with that week, next week, and into the following week on the progress. They never called me. He then said my laptop was ready, and to stop by. I told him I would be there in 1.5 hours. He said ok. When I arrived my laptop wasnt ready so I waited 45 minutes for them to bring it down. Not only was it NOT fixed the screen was completely black (before I could shine a flashlight on the screen and see Windows running). He said the motherboard was out and it would be a month or so before he could fix. I took the laptop to Micro Center. They charged me $45. Called me regularly to update me on the progress but ultimately could not fix as they could not read serial numbers from the bottom of my laptop and the screen/external display was dead so they couldnt get the information they needed to order parts. THEY GAVE ME THE $45 back. I called Jeff back very frustrated that they had now left me with a computer that was in worse shape than when I brought it in (prior to taking it to Jeffs I used me external monitor to use the computer). Micro Center could not fix and I could not use. He said to bring it back in. I reluctantly did as I had nothing to lose at this point plus I had already purchased a new laptop. After dropping off I decided I would not call him to see how long it would take before they would call me with an update. I waited A MONTH. Finally I called him and asked him the status. He sounded scatterbrained and had no new news. I told him I will be picking it up. When I went in I asked him to refund my $100 as my computer is now a paper weight. He would not agree to do so and said the motherboard was the problem and had failed after bringing it in. He was making things up as he went along. So now I am out $100 and a laptop that is worthless. Stay away from this company.

First and LAST time using Jeff Computers. When I dropped my laptop off for a reinstall of Windows 7, there was an elderly couple arguing with Jeff re: what appeared to be a failed repair on a printer. What really struck me was that the couple had called the police, so an officer was present during the argument. Not a good sign, but I thought I’d still give Jeff Computers a chance. With my laptop, the 1 week estimate turned to 2, and the 1 hour estimate turned to 2, without notifying me. Their notes said they did, but the only question they asked me during the work was if I minded if some programs were deleted during the reinstall. I replied “If they HAVE to be deleted, then okay.” (turns out ALL programs I had loaded were deleted. Oh well) At no time was I told of the revised 2 hour repair time. When I picked up my computer, the employee notified me the first time about the 2-hours, asking how I wanted to pay the extra hour. When I objected, Jeff entered the picture. He asked me, what WOULD I have chosen...to have it repaired or rejected it. I said I would have thought about possibly buying a used laptop. He then said that if I wanted to reject the extra cost, the technician could go in and undo what had been done. He offered to give me a deal (or something like that) and charge $60. After discussions which made me want to call the police, I said I’d pay $40 additional, on top of the $100 I paid when I dropped it off. Even when we agreed on the $40, Jeff continued his questioning on what I would have said about the extra hour. I finally told him to drop the issue. Once I got the unit home, I noticed that the Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable package wasn’t installed, nor did it seem that they went to the Microsoft website for updates. I can’t say for sure, but when I went to the MS website, there were a lot of programs that I believe they should have installed that weren’t. Again, first and last time.
