STAY AWAY!!! HORRIBLE experience. I would give it NEGATIVE stars if I could, but forced to put at least one star to post. This was my second time coming here and the first time I came I got a hair color and style by McKayla who was amazing. This time around was the worst mistake I made. I have never cried over a haircut in my life but this was absolutely the WORST. First they sent me with a student who ended up sending me back to the waiting area as a result of a mixed names in customers. The girl who took me next, April, started with an attitude with one of the instructors (Michael I believe was his name) so you can definitely tell there was tension from the very beginning. They both continued to talk back to each other and she made faces throughout the service. Unfortunately it was my hair that paid the price for their tension between them. Never once did the instructor ask April how she was doing or to check up on her process, even though he would do so with the students around me. It took three instructors to "check" her work (more like attempting to fix it and ALL FAILED MISERABLY!!) and one other student to attempt removing the oily product April had placed on my hair why blow drying! All FAILED to fix it. RESULTS: Hair shorter than requested, layers became chunks in all sizes cut in different lengths, oily and ugly blow dry, even April herself stated she HATED the outcome and tried to even offer to still do my eyebrows (of course I said NO). At check out time the girl at the counter gave an attitude and tried to still charge me, and at the end I DID NOT pay for their HORRIBLE service and treatment. No apologies were offered and they even had the audacity to end the transaction with "okay you wont pay, you can go now." Cant believe they would even let a guest walk out in the hair conditions that I did. I had to come home and immediately made a hair mask to remove all the oily products left on my hair. I will NEVER return or recommend this place.

I went in today for a completely new colour on the top of my hair and some messing about with the bottom colour of my hair. I had Jaci V as my technician and Katie as my educator. Jaci took her time to understand what I was looking for, explained and verified with me at every step. She made me feel very welcome, said my very thick, wiry, wavy hair was a great opportunity for experience and I felt completely confident with her service. I really enjoyed her company, she is very patient, very kind and very entertaining. She does a great neck and hand/arm massage and she handled my hair with ease. At times, when needed, Katie gave great advice and support, shes lovely too! Upon leaving, Jaci gave me a thank you card. It was a lovely gesture and I was surprised at how much of my babble she had retained. She made me feel special. I am so thankful Jaci will be there until Dec 17. It will give me an opportunity to get to know her better and I think we will have a lot of fun on my colour journey - I keep changing my mind of my colours in search of the perfect look for me. Next we are going to try pink/purple peek-a-boo. I cant wait! Thank you Ladies

Almost always a good haircut. You cant request a student, so its a bit of luck-of-the-draw. I got one of the best haircuts Ive ever had from one talented girl who was close to graduation, and I had a few others that were just good. Remember that the instructors are milling around and checking on student work...there have been times when the instructor did half of my haircut. On that note, only one time did I get a HORRIBLE haircut...yes, the kind where I was in tears in the parking lot and then went back in. But they handled it SO WELL. An experienced student and instructor fixed my mullet, I got a call from the director of the school later that week, and also a gift certificate. Yes, I wound up with the shortest haircut Ive ever had, but I felt well taken care of. If you do feel like you things are not going well, remember that the student is supposed to be checking in with their instructors regularly--after that experience, I would politely say "Are we supposed to check in before the next step?" just to be sure. Also note: it will take FOREVER. I would leave at least 2 hours for a haircut...but for $15...nice!

Ive been coming here since around October, 2016. They have been great. On February, 2016. I went to someone that had 21 years of experience and she fried my hair & I lost hair. I returned to Aveda and was taken care off as they corrected the color, evened the highlights, and corrected the cut. Well, its been my experience that each person worked on me as a whole, not just my hair, they gave me their best, along with the extra perks included, great attitudes & friendly personalities, all this under the supervision of a great instructor, Michael. Its was the most amazing schoolexperience I could have dreamed of, excellent teachers guidance and peers. If I could I would do it all over again. The facility is state of the art clean calm and beautiful. The products they use on clients are uncomparable to any other product line/ color line out there. For the price you are getting more than a good deal. I strongly recommend the Aveda institute for guests and students. 10 stars!!!

Today was my first experience with Aveda Institute and it far exceeded my expectations! Everybody was professional and my student esthetician, Leslie, was amazing! She had excellent application, smooth flow and professional technique. I can honestly say it was one of the best facials I have ever experienced and her positive and vibrant energy made it all the more enjoyable. I will definitely be returning.

I was recommended by a friend who loves this place. I thought why not, I could save a little money too. Big mistake. It is now 3 months into my hair cut and it hasnt grown and inch (my hair usually grows quick). And when I straighten my hair, I have some little hairs on the top of my head sticking straight up. I get it, its a school, and theyre all learning. But beauty schools just isnt my thing.

I have been going to this school since they opened and have no complaints. This is the place I chose to have ten inches of hair cut off and could not have been happier. Keep in mind that it IS a school where students are training and that is the reason for the reasonable prices. Just schedule an appt. when you have plenty of time to kill and enjoy the pampering!

Today was my mother and I first time going. I was skeptical at first because I cant trust everyone with my type of hair. But, I absolutely loved my experience. The staff and Beauticians are oh so friendly and very very concerned and very helpful. We will be back. Top of the line cuts,color,styles, etc with out the expensive cost . I give Aveda an A+++++++++.
