I have a tough shed in my backyard and was locked out of it. I called Desert Locksmith to come to my house to determine whether or not they could reproduce a key to unlock it or replace the lock on the shed itself? When the Technician Tina arrived she immediately tried picking the lock to unlock the shed but soon discovered it was already unlocked; she could not get the door open still. She went back to her van and got a small screw driver to remove the 3 screws that were holding the lock in place onto the door. She removed the screws and we both saw that the locking pin was broken and therefore unable to move back when trying to open the door handle; hence why the door could not open. That was the extent of her service she provided to me - removed 3 screws and charged me $75 for it! This company automatically charges what they call a "trip charge" which was $55 in my case and then Tina the tech added a charge of $20 in addition to the $55 to remove 3 screws! I was shocked when I saw the bill for the service she provided. I will never use this company again and I recommend nobody else does either unless you want to be overcharged $75 for a tech from this company to remove 3 screws? They also do not tell you on the telephone when you call them that they automatically charge you what they call a "trip charge". This company is ridiculous in what they charge and should be reported to the Better Business Bureau for failing to state that they automatically charge you a "Trip Charge" when you call them for service!

This was from my place of work, but they were incredible. The code to our front door key pad messed up, and our customers could not get in after hours at our UPS Store. I called Desert Locksmiths, and they made their way that day to take a look at our system. The previous UPS Store owner did not provide us with any paperwork on the old security codes, so Desert Locksmith was able to fix the problem, provide us paperwork on the system so we can re-program it here, AND they made it smaller so it did not stick out on the side of our door. The fix was scheduled for the next business day, but they informed me shortly afterwards that a cancellation opened so they could fix it that day. NOT EVEN AN HOUR LATER Dallas was here and got it up and running! Thank you Dallas, thank you Desert Locksmith, you saved our business a lot of hassle!

In looking for a reputable locksmith I wanted to "feel safe" after rekeying all our home locks. So I looked on-line and found Desert Locksmiths and all the good comments/ratings. When I called to inquire about service, I was treated like an "important person" to be taken care of immediately. This is a rare and very pleasant surprise unlike so many business who are too busy, etc. We were immediately scheduled for the appointment, even though we live in Minden (an hour away from them); I believe the lady who came out to do the job was Benny. She was kind, helpful and went beyond just rekeying by making our door easier to open. I would be happy to recommend them to anyone looking for any of the services provided. BEST LOCKSMITH IN RENO. Possibly best locksmith anywhere!! Benny had come to my home to fix a door and did so quickly and efficiently. 5 days later and my door wouldnt open. I was so upset! I called up, spoke to a very nice women and was called first thing in the morning. Very prompt!! Benny came over and worked for over an hour trying to figure out the problem. The door not opening had nothing to do with the work she had done, but was because WE had accidentally pushed a wrong button. Not only did she drive the 20 miles out to our house, but she didnt even charge us. Thats just a good person with a good heart. Plain and simple. Business quality is only as good as the people who run it and at Desert Locksmith youll find the very best.

Stopped in to see if there was any chance a key could be made for my 94 Subaru after being told by a Subaru dealer that it was impossible. Ten minutes later and a perfect copy had been made from the code only. Not only that, but the whole process only cost me a fraction of what the dealer wouldve charged had they been able to make the key. I dont even live in Reno, but will make the trek next time I need keys made.

I needed a firesafe opened and two new keys, they gave me an excellent price and I appreciate that they asked for my ID to verify the contents/know for sure it was my safe they were opening.... very fast, friendly, and affordable. I will definitely use them in the future and recommend them to others!

GREAT Company!! I called Desert Lock (Benny) in the early afternoon to have our office locks changed before the end of the day and someone was sent over within about an hour and half and the rep Tina has us ready to go in no time. Desert Locksmiths is great and so are all their people!!

Tried to charge me $75 to copy a milled automotive key onto a blank I provided, took it elsewhere and had it done for $25.
