This was the worst haircut Ive ever had. I saw decent reviews online so I called and requested a haircut and color. I also requested someone who was experienced and was good with curly hair. I arrived at my appointment and was suprised at how young my stylist was (maybe 20). I started becoming concerned when it took her about twenty minutes to figure out how to create the color and she had to ask several other people at the salon for help. The color came out ok-ish, it was definitely more golden blonde than the ash blonde which is what I had wanted but at least it was a normal color. The part that happened next was the hair cut. The stylist cut my hair using thinning shears quite a bit on the ends of the top layer of my head all the way around. She then asked if I wanted to pay an extra $25 to have it blown out straight... usually this is included as part of style but whatever... so I said no Id like to get her recommendations on styling it curly anyway (or at least that is what I thought). She turned me away from the mirror and proceeded to add lots of various products, combing (which from having curly hair I know is a big no no when drying), blow drying, using a curling iron, and other actions which caused me a bit of concern... finally she turned me back to the mirror and I looked like I was wearing a bad semi straight 7" wig on top of still damp curly 14" hair, the layering was shockingly separate and blunt and simply put I was horrified! She asked how I liked it, and even though Im southern and very polite, I couldnt even fake liking this hot mess one bit, I said it looked like the two layers of my hair didnt go together it was like I was wearing a short wig on top of my hair and I was obviously not happy with my hair. She went to go get someone else (a heavy set woman covered with tattoos) who proceeded to try and fix the really really really bad layering and was giving the girl tips on what you are suppose to do with curly hair... WTF!... Im spending $200 on a hair cut and color and this girl doesnt even know how to style curly hair?!?! If I had wanted someone who didnt know what they were doing, Id pick someone off the street or go to a comsmotology school! Now even with the stylist who apparently had dealt with curly hair at some time before in her life, I still hated the hair cut, my hair style was literally worse after getting it done here then before, it was substanially shorter than I wanted it, but the worst part was that with the ridiculous use of the thinning shears they used my hair gets bizzarely thin towards the ends (think of overly bleached and fried redneck hair - that is what they gave me, and what was actually an improvement on the layered wig hair style). Anyway I still regret that I actually paid for this (and it was expensive approximately $200) and Im still wearing my hair up mostly and growing it out enough to get the thin ends trimmed off. Definitely without a shadow of a doubt the worst haircut Ive ever had hands down.

This salon is HORRIBLE! I went to Julie and told her to ONLY cut my ends because I had very long hair and liked it. When I was done I seen that she cut my hair all the way up to my shoulders! I am so upset and will advise EVERYONE TO NEVER GO HERE. They do not do your hair the way you want only the way they see it. I hate this place.

Best Salon in Jersey. Jen the owner is an outstanding person, and gives back to the community. Margaret, is the best stylist there. Whatever you need, be sure to see her. Shes not scissor happy and knows what a baby trim is! I cant say enough good things about the place. Ive been loyal for 15 years..

Tried Tangles for the first time a couple months ago. Katie cut and styled my hair just how I wanted it done. She answered my questions and did a great job on my hair. I have had a lot of trouble finding a good hairdresser in the area but now I have found a great one!

Thoroughly enjoyed my experience with this salon. Staff was friendly and the layout of the salon made me very comfortable. Stylists were easy to talk to and knowledgeable about hair care and styling. Recommended to anyone looking to try something or somewhere new.

I have been going to Tangles for 2 years and have had no problems. They did my hair and make up for both Proms. I got so many compliments. My mom has been a client since 2002. She wouldnt go any where else. She feels at home and says they do an amazing job.

I have been at Tangles for several years. Ken at Tangles is the best for mani-pedis! Recently Margaret has handled my transition from constant coloring of my hair to beautiful white with a perfect ultra short cut. Love it. I get compliments everywhere I go.
