I went in to Firestone for a car inspection because my dealership told me about some pricey repairs. I told Firestone the repairs I needed and they stated they will do a full car inspection. I had an appt. scheduled for the inspection. I dropped off my car and told them I would go home to wait. 3 hours passed and no call from Firestone. I called Firestone to ask about the status of my car the tech told me I did not need my brakes repaired and instead I needed 4 new tires. I asked what do they do to inspect the brakes... I was confused because my dealership just told me my brake pads and rotors needed replacement. But the dealerships charges double for those types of repairs compared to Firestone. I asked why did they not call me earlier if my car was ready. They said "Maam we have been busy." I am thinking you are too busy to call a customer about they service they would like to perform. That is not something you tell your customer that had a scheduled appt. I picked up my car shortly after. Since I did not believe Firestone I took my car to a 3rd shop to inspect my brakes. I went to Sears which was next door. I told them I am hearing conflicting car issues between my dealership and Firestone. I told them I need a 3rd opinion on a car inspection. The tech decided to show me my pads and rotors. There was rust on my rotors and grooves in my rotors (which should be smooth). I am not sure why Firestone did not notice that. I would not trust there repairs and they try to upsell other repairs. They actually said I needed 4 new tires that cost 1K. Come to find out since I have a FWD car I only need 2 tires that need to be replaced. I still can wait on my back tires that are at a 5 on tire life scale. I would rate a 0 if I could because I would not trust their service.

Dropped my car off at closing time and was told my car would be ready the next day mid-morning. I needed one new tire. Chris told me they would need to get the tire from another location. I called the next day at 12pm and was told driver was out to pick up the tire. I told employee that i need the car by 1:45 and to call me if he couldnt get the tire. I called at 1:30 and he said driver was not back yet. I told Kurt to have my car ready (without new tire) as I was coming to pick it up in a few minutes. He said he would have it ready. I get to the center and told the manager? to give me my car key so I could leave with my car. He didnt know where my key was and asked every other employee where it was. He finally found it and moved another car in front of me so I could get out. This was about 2pm. 20 minutes later, I get a voicemail from Kurt saying my tire has "finally arrived". I call the center and explained what happened to Chris. He said he had told me originally that my new tire would have to picked up from another location. I said that was true but he told me car would be ready by mid-morning. On the invoice, the pick up time was 12pm. He apologized and suggested I go to the wyckoff location since that was closer to my residence. I got my new tire in wyckoff and it was a much better and faster experience. The hackensack location is a total mess. The employees and manager are disorganized. They dont know the meaning of customer service. If you go to this location, you will wait many hours to have anything done to your car. Even then, it may not get done. I also heard the employees trying to sell all sorts of needless services to naive customers. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Youll save time and money.

I have been here a few times for oil changes. Not bad for the price & its convenient to my home. They are always polite. They pulled a stunt on my today though. My pick up is 9 years old. The front tires were in desperate need of replacement . It is a second vehicle so I let thing go too long. There was a full size spare and I had an old tire in decent shape that needed to be mounted in my garage. I called and asked if they would mount the old tire. The manager said no problem, bring the truck in. When I got there the "kid" at the desk told me that store policy was that used tires could not be installed. When I asked for the manager, he told me that the manager would tell me the same. The manager came over and told me that it would not be a problem, but he they were busy. This was not an issue for me. It was 4 pm, the store closed at 7 pm. I told him I would come for my truck in the morning. The store opens at 7 am. When I called at 9:30 am, the manager told me that the tire was over 10 years old and could not be installed - company policy. Kind of hard to believe the tire was over ten years old since the truck was 9 years old. The same manager had seen the tire the afternoon before but when I picked up the truck, he told that it was company policy. I have no problem with company policy, but the manager could have told me when I called - and could told me when I dropped off the truck. Why jerk people around?!

I called and spoke to Phil about having my brakes done. I realized that the routers (disks) in the front were damaged; I could hear metal on metal. I asked what the price would be for simple pads for the front disks, etc. I was given a price of $126 which seemed high, but I havent had brakes done in a long time. I asked what if the the routers (disks) were not good. I was told it would be somewhere in the neighborhood of $180. I left the car in and was told they would be able to give me an evaluation if about ten minutes. After about a half hour I gave him my cell phone number. About three hours later I called and was told they had to replace the front disk, they were too badly damaged and the price for just the front brakes was over $500! They had already started the work!!! After I screamed at Phil for about ten minutes, I hung up telling him to do it and I would write this note. About 15 minutes later the manager, Davon called me and apologized for not calling me back. Convenient. They told me the Routers were $91 each! I told him Id call back. I checked with Autozone and they were $35.99 each! I called back and cancelled since in their haste they never got an authorization from me to do the work.

I normally use the Firestone by Millburn where i live, but my business is in Leonia, so I went to this location. Chris was able to get me a tire , a Firestone, on sale at a better price than STS up the road and while, of course, things vary from store to store, I find if you start a relationship with them, they learn your name and will go out of their way to take care of you when you come in. And this location seems to be a well run location for what one would expect at a Firestone.. theyre clean, timely, and usually no nonsense. you can usually get things down 10% if you really feel the need. I dont even care if its $5 more here, and its usually NOT. But even if it were? Its about the service. I need to work with people who keep their word and keep my trucks running on schedule. They do that for me.
