I am not at all happy with this repair shop, and I am convinced that I got taken advantage of. I noticed that my heater in my car wasnt working prior to going to visit my family in Cherry Hill during Easter weekend. I live at the Jersey shore, more than an hour away. So I took my car to my familys mechanic in Cherry Hill the day before Easter. He said I needed a new thermostat, which would cost around $200. But he couldnt get to it for a few days, because the next day was Easter Sunday, and he was backed up early in the week. As I live out of the area and had to get back to work, I took it to Pep Boys in Marlton, because they were open on Easter Sunday, and said they could get to it right away. Well, they called me shortly after I dropped my car off to tell me that I needed a lot more than a thermostat. I needed a whole new hose system mechanism, and a bunch of other repairs. They told me my car would not be safe to drive otherwise. They said they would have to wait until Monday to get the parts, because the parts suppliers were closed on Sunday. I trusted these people, and the repairs wound up costing me close to $800! Now, my air conditioning is not working properly. My dad spoke to my familys mechanic and told him what happened. He was very upset, and said I did not need all of those repairs. Meanwhile, I opened my cars hood and saw a bunch of corroded clamps, which were supposed to be replaced. Like a lot of people, I have very little money and feel that I was grossly taken advantage of. I am furious! Update: I complained to the company and the assistant manager called me and agreed to reimburse me for the parts and services I really didnt need. That was nice. But I have yet to receive my refund - I am getting the runaround - and have read other reviews that said the same thing, they will often try to sell you things you dont need. So people need to be aware of this.

Very disappointing customer service. There are two entrances into the waiting room, one from the store, and one from the outside which goes through the work area. When I walked in from the outside, a mechanic yelled in a very obnoxious way to stop and not go in there. The intent was right - customers shouldnt go through the garage, but I didnt even realize it was a problem. I walked along the left side near the wall, and there wasnt a car there and there were no signs anywhere in view stating that customers should go a different way. The obnoxiousness and condescension in the mechanics voice was rampant and showed no room for a customers honest mistake. I spoke with the assistant manager (they said Bob, the manager was not there that day) and asked him why there were no signs and why the mechanic was so obnoxious. I had no response about the mechanic, he did not apologize, he did not explain any safety rationale, and did not offer any empathy in his own response. He then stated there are indeed signs on each pillar that customers shouldnt go through that area. On my way out, I checked again, there are no signs on any pillar that I could see from the outside walking in. There is a single sign one can see from the internal waiting room looking out, but absolutely no signs from the outside looking in. The assistant mgr had stated something that was untrue rather than provide a truthful or constructive response or better yet a customer centric response. If the personnel is not honest and considerate face to face with customers, how can we have confidence they are doing what they say under the hoods and behind the scenes? Im willing to believe that ones interaction with customers is a reflection of the quality of work behind the scenes and for that reason I will not be going to this location or any Pep Boys again.

The worst experience with a service I have ever had in my life. Do not go to this Pepboys. My starter went in my car and I had it towed there for them to replace the part. I had arranged the tow service THROUGH Pepboys and I got a ride home. I called them three days after to check up on my car after hearing nothing about it and they said they had no information on the car and it had just been sitting in the parking lot. After waiting another two days for them to replace a simple starter, they called me to pick it up. The car started fine when I picked it up from work and I stopped at the bank on the way home. Once i reentered my car I turned the key and the car did not crank. I called Pepboys back and they said they would look at it again and would tow it back for free. Well they transferred me to the tow center and after being on hold for an hour and a half, the man on the phone told me he could not find anyone in my area and the car would have to sit at the bank all night for a tow in the morning. Well after that hassle it turns out that the starter they had put in went bad in less than an hour. They replaced it. This was a horrible experience and I am letting you know that if this Pepboys is your only choice to service your vehicle, start learning how to ride a bike because they simply not worth your trouble..

STAY AWAY!!!!! I bought 4 new tires from them in October, and have been having an issue with 1 tire losing air. The 1 tire goes down to about 24 psi every 7-10 days while the other 3 remain around 32. Took my car in today to have it looked at, and received a call about an hour and a half later and was told that there was a nail/screw in it. I pick up the car and ask if it was really bad and the technician said he couldnt find anything wrong with it after working on it for an hour. So why was I told that there was a nail/screw in the tire? The service advisor (Gregg Lozowski) who called to tell me the car was ready said he didnt know why he said that and that he never looked at the report. I was basically told there was nothing they could do about the tire. You sell me tires, and when a problem arises..... there is nothing you can do about it?!?!?! This service advisor even went so far as to suggest that someone is screwing with me and my tire. So someone is repeatedly releasing 6-8psi out of my tire just for fun every 7-10 days?!?! **UPDATE 2/6/15** - Took my car to the dealer and they diagnosed it as a loose valve stem. They were able to diagnose and fix the problem, unlike Pep Boys who apparently likes to give up and leave problems unresolved.

Will never buy another major car part from this place again. Needed to make a quick fix and they were the only ones open so bought an alternator -- long story short I had to return TWO of them within 2 weeks for being defective. I believe Pro Start is the company they use that refurbish or distribute these parts, absolutely horrible quality. Their policy is if you buy one of these parts and its defective they will just give you another one (basically to keep your money and not give you a refund). I got tired of this real quick when I replaced my battery, 2nd alternator and starter and had my car die on me on my way to work the next day. Took it to my trusted mechanic to make sure I wasnt going crazy and they ran a full voltage test and determined it was definitely the alternator. Pep Boys ran tests on the part when I brought it in defective and it passed 5 times which is complete BS. Whatever they are using to test these parts is garbage as well because Ive now since put in a higher quality alternator and no issues whatsoever. Had to fight tooth and nail to get a refund and ate the core charge for my next alternator. This is probably common knowledge to most DIYers but dont go here for any major parts!! stay away.
