If I would have dealt with the owner from beginning to end, I might have given it 4 stars. But i didnt. I have always had the issue where people think they can over charge me at dominican hair salons because i have long and thick hair, which does happen to me at high end salons. But i came in show a picture if the cut and color and she said she could do it but put this man to do my clor who didnt even color my highlights right plus burn my scalp i have scabs all over now. He also watch ny hair eith cold water and water when in my ear and everything. I had to ask for a towel because he left my hair dripping. Also then they pass me to the owner who i tought was going to fix my cut a little better but just procedeted to flat iron my hair not blow dry. Then she used the excuse that my highlight where to light to be covered. Not the truth that it was not done right In the end it ended up costing me 150. Which the most i have ever paid to get my hair cut with highlight or color is 92 dollars. Out of respect and because I am highly educated i went to the bank because even though signs say they take cards she wants cash in order to cheat the tax man, and took out 150 and gave it to her and didnt argue. But the truth is Saturday will be my first and last day going there. I can get the same job done with a lot better service in any dominican hair salon or even high end for less the price. And then had the nerves to take pictures to put on this site, after over pricing me for ok service. PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE THIS SALON SHOULD BE RATED ALOT LESS THAN IT IS. YOU DONT COME OUT LOOKING LIKE PICTURES AT ALL.

My cousin has been going to Jass for years and would always tell me i needed to go let Jass do my hair. I learned many years ago that with my hair texture (very soft, thin and fine) paying money for a style was a waiste as it would only last for 1 day or I would sweat the style out immediately. Well, a relative was getting married and I wanted a new look other than my usual dark brown, short curly afro. I decided to try Jass and let me tell you... she was right on time for my scheduled appointment. She accomplished the exact style I wanted with curls and figure waves and color. What amazed me the most was my hair held up through the wedding, reception with dancing all night. It held up a week after the wedding up until I decided to wash my hair because I missed my natural curls. Jass has a new customer!

Jass is AMAZING! She transformed my hair leaps and bounds. She is well-trained w various types of Afro-hair. Her technique is so great that I faithfully travel from Jersey City to her salon in Newark to receive hair care. I first came to her as I was transitioning to natural and my hair was unruly and unmanageable to say the least, I left w silky straight hair. She does excellent weave as well--natural looking and long lasting. Her installation of my extension last 5 months and monthly washes, deep conditions and tightening in between. Not to mention she is reasonably priced--well below what those called specialty natural hair salons charge. No, she isnt a life long friend-I discovered her as a business woman who runs her business well. She and her staff are so pleasant and I highly recommend her!

Salon has alot of potential but has a long way to go. Terrible customer service, not honest with price for services, doesnt manage time at all and I say this because if i am getting washed and blow dry i shouldnt be there for 5-6 hours. This is primarily due to the non stop talking which is very very very excessive. They do not practice hair care but rather practice styling by any means necessary.so if she have to damage your hair to get it a certain way then thats what she will do. Which doesnt bother her because she wants everyone to leave with a nice style no matter how heat damaged your hair is. Every time i leave this salon i feel worn out.

Jass has been doing my hair for more than 15 years. Once in a while I am adventurous and dye my own hair. Thank God for Jass... She doesnt say anything... Just hugs me and tells me to sit down and she will take care of me. She is not just a hairdresser she is a friend and a confidant. Yes, sometimes I have to wait but it is worth it. I always leave feeling pretty. Her daughter is also amazing. I have seen her grow up into a beautiful young lady and now a talented photographer.

Jass is amazing with a great personality. I went for a relaxer after having my hair natural for 8 months. I probably shouldve just gotten a touch up because the end result was small chemical burns and over processed ends. I miss my soft natural hair a little but i enjoy the ease of a relaxer either way. I will continue going back because I WANT my hair to be healthy. We will continue doing trims and deep condition so my hair can become healthy again.

Jass is one of the best if not the best hair salon I have ever been. The hair stylists are very talented and other than that the customer service is impeccable. They will make you feel like family. The owner will make you feel like youre the only person in the room, plus will do an amazing job on your hair. If youre in the area, I definitely recommend Jass hair salon!! I hate it here the service is way to long they put people in front of you all the time . They are too expensive , the guy burns your scalp when he blow dries . I wanna stop going here tbh never wanna come here at all dont come here they love servicing their friends first and not treating everyone the same . Dont come here !

Absolutely loved my experienced and did my lashes with Bercelly. I found them through a website of "Top Hair Salons" my hair and lashes came out gorgeous, i would recommend any girl with hair insecurities or issues. Anything is possible at this place.

The place has been remodeled! I love the treatment, its a staff of Dominican and Hispanic people who treat all types of hair and people. I love the extensions jass did !!!! Super awesome place !!!! Cant wait to go again
