For tires, these guys are good and seem to get the job done right the first time at the right price on the tires, mounting and balancing. They will mostly match the Tirerack shipping price. The tires for me have always been mounted and balanced correctly the first time. They even clean up the bead lip in your wheel when needed (which prevents those slow leaks), and are mostly gentle with your wheels especially if you have stick-on weights.. (ie. the wont mark your wheels, but they may leave some grease on the wheel face). They may mark your wheels though if the weights are outside-mount tak-ons. People shouldnt take their new luxury cars there expecting the wheels to be markless and flawless afterwards though. They are slow though...try to drop your vehicle off if you can. They also hemmed-and-hawwed since they didnt have the special deep-socket adapter for my aftermarket wheels (they asked me to go home and get it, but eventually located one nearby)...this is something they should be able to handle on their own. However when it comes to alignments....stay far far far far away from this Firestone location. Go elsewhere. They dont know how to do alignments the right way for the customer. For $90, this Firestone will just TOE-AND-GO adjust your front end wheels, adjust the camber/caster if possible in the rear wheels and thats it. In my case, my Rav4 toe axis was out by only 0.1 degree in the front....so they nudged the toe back into spec by that 0.1 degree rather than placing it right in the middle of the alignment spec for that axis. There is about 0.6 degree (or so) range of tolerance for the Rav4, and they could have put it right in the middle but they didnt. TOE-AND-GO! I said something to the Service Person after looking at the printout report but he gave me a low level response that it was in spec. I wasnt in the mood to complain over $90, and just went on my way. So in other words, they adjust the 3 axis until the machine says its green, then stop...which is a very LAZY and CHEAP way of performing alignments adjustments. Typical Sussex County, NJ standard of service... ALSO...they dont even set your tire pressure to its spec before even doing the alignment (they just set it to the 40s and above)...so who knows what the real alignment specs are at the beginning and end anyway. Its really a shame too since they have the good Hunter laser-target alignment equipment. But equipment is nothing if the operators are poorly trained, as in this case. Tires, these guys are actually ok. But alignments, they suck...so Id stay away for that and all other car maintenance services offered.

***Update*** One day after I posted this complaint (it was originally posted 6 months ago) I was contacted by both the manager and the regional office for clarification, apologies, and a store credit for my wasted time. I havent been back... but I do appreciate the effort made by management. Original Post: 45 minutes later and still hadnt touched my car for my scheduled appointment; not even a word as to what was taking so long. You should know Im a pretty reasonable and understanding guy so if they wouldve let me know about a scheduling problem I wouldve rescheduled or left to wander one of the many stores in the vicinity. So...I just moved from Camp Pendleton CA and needed routine maintenance on my vehicles, but today I only had time for a tire rotation for the car. I was told it wasnt a busy day so I scheduled the appt. for this afternoon, told them Id wait, and I arrived on time. I turned in my keys and sat down in the lobby facing the parking lot where I was able to see my car and vehicles entering and exiting the garage. 15 minutes passes... then 20... then 30... then 40... then finally 45 minutes and not a word to me from anyone and yet there my car remained, sitting in the parking lot where I left it, as other cars came in the garage and left while I sat there for a scheduled appointment. A scheduled appointment for a tire rotation. It doesnt take long to rotate tires; its even quicker when you have a lift and pneumatic tools. So why hadnt anyone come to let me know what was going on? No idea, I thought thats what customer service folk did. Why was I waiting so long? Well I have my suspicions...I bought the lifetime tire care package, for both my vehicles, so this would just be Firestone honoring the money I already paid and they werent going to get any more money off me today. I wish I could go back in time and not make those purchases. So after 45 minutes I went to customer service and demanded my keys back, at which time a gentlemen investigated and a few minutes later returned to tell me that my car was next. Imagine that. I told him not to bother, to give me my keys, and to cancel my appt for my truck later this week (it was for more than just a obligated/pre-paid tire rotation). Im sure I can find other places that will treat me, my time, and my money better. If not, I guess Ill be doing a lot of DIY maintenance. All of this from a business that touts in their lobby: "I believe fundamental honesty is the keystone of business." -Harvey S. Firestone

I have been going to Firestone Newton for about 8 years now, I have never had a problem. Will you occasionally get asked if you like the 90$ fuel system cleaning? Sure, they need to make a profit too, they dont work for free. Typically the customers are car illiterate and think Firestone is trying to rip them off. Simply not true. Its your responsibility to take care of your car. If you never did your trans fluid flush and fill then do it for the first time EVER at 140k miles you cant be mad at the location for your lack of maintenance on your own car. I am computer literate and only semi car literate. I know enough not to get ripped off, and every time I researched what they proposed what I should do for maintenance, they were correct every time. If you cant wrap your brain around the concept of maintenance you need to marry a mechanic or get rid if your car and take a bus from now on. I go there now, I will go in the future and have always had a great experience there. Furthermore they are a super busy location and they do a great job keeping up with the heavy workload. Thank you Firestone crew, and keep up the great job !!!

My daughter went on a Sunday to get two new tires put on. Not even 24 hours the next day something broke right behind the front tire they changed. A friend whos very good with cars, and the tow truck driver explained that it looked tampered with, and told her to call and complain. When she called she was met with a nasty attitude and "we didnt do it attitude." They had explained to her when the car was done that the lug nuts were "very hard to get off we almost couldnt get it off"..well maybe they damaged the car part causing it to fall off. Regardless they were unwilling to help and blew her off. Not only did her experience leave us with a horrible taste in our mouths but her co worker had experienced problems with them as well. She went to get tires put on and the NEXT day the other two tires went flat. Obviously we cannot prove if they did anything, but two situations like that and a little common sense can tell you other wise. She paid $200 for tires, had horrible customer service AND now has an inoperable vehicle as of right now. If I could I would give zero stars!
