Great Service ! Came in for a oil change a couple weeks ago because I always go to midas for everything for years. The technician Matty (it says on his name tag but is Matt Hammond I think is what his boss called him by when he yelled out the door to him-idk hes one of the tallest guys that was there) came in after pulling my car in his garage bay to tell his boss that something did not seem to be right with how my car was running and that the check engine light was not on and said that he wanted to look further into it. His boss said if the lights not on then dont worry about it, probably bad plugs pull a plug he says, I just had plugs done but wanted to see what they said. Tech took the clip board and left. He finished looking over my car an came back in an started talking to his boss about it an brought a plug and my engine air filter which was filthy. Lol whoops... his boss said yeah see gotta be these plugs then he replied no the plugs look good to me i got a code for the oxygen sensor bank 1 even though there was no light on which was weird he said but he just knew something wasnt right with how the engine is running. and the air filter for the engine is heavily restricted an showed him an then he called me over an explained what his tech just said even though I completely over heard the convo. So I said well I want my sensor changed & filter cause if he said that its bad an for him to know without even having a light on an just could tell by driving the car into the shop then I value his suggestion. So gotta everything done an, yup he was right on the money. Got in an started my car an it already sounded and felt healthier. As I drove it I could tell the engine was more powerful and an didnt have a shake or hesitation. Thanks Matty, you saved me money in the long run by now allowing my car to get proper gas mileage by helping it run better, very professional, polite and knowledgeable and Thanks Midas ! Very happy- Ill be back an be sure to spread the word of my pleasing service! Great Job!

So I go into Midas one morning on a weekday and I tell them I need 4 new tires and possibly an alignment -- Im expecting them to immediately look at tires/prices that fit my budget/vehicle. Instead, they took 45 minutes "looking" at my car up on the lift.... Huh?? (I bought the car used earlier this year with about 50,000 miles ) There was maybe 1 car on a bay so there were like 5 open. So finally after all the "inspection", the man prints out an "estimate" what I supposedly needed done... I remember hearing "See how this moves like this? It shouldnt do that" (I barley saw anything, but I nodded) -- He shows me the total on the estimate-- it was basically half of what I paid for the CAR !!! First thing he says, we can check out cheaper tires we have in stock -- he ends up with a total of like 700$ for tires and an alignment. And the whole time, one of the employees would say "you really wanna get THIS done" OR "this should be changed every 50k miles" (only later I find it only needs to be replaced ever 100k miles!!!) By this point, I know Im not getting any work on my car done here. As a last ditch effort, the manager, ( I think) blurts out " How about well throw in the alignment for free -- still was over 600$ somehow.... I knew I couldnt trust them so I thanked them and left. My advice would be to chill with the up-selling ... people dont like it ... especially when its SO BLATANT... be SOMEWHAT HONEST with your potential customers.

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE PLACE!!!! DO NOT GO HERE NO MATTER WHAT! Went there for oil change and tire rotation, and they did not even rotate my tires! When I called to complain, they insisted they had, and when I said I knew they hadnt bc the same visibly worn tires were still on the front and NOT rotated, then they said that they could not put worn tires on the back, bc it was illegal (this after telling me that my tires tread were all fine, confirmed by 2 other places!!!) When I asked why they lied to me then and told me they had rotated them, the Manager, Ray, accused me of lying! Also, I declined getting my brakes done there bc the price was outrageous, and then when I picked my car up, all of the sudden my wheel started shaking when I hit the brakes- which never happened before I brought it there! Ray, the manager, was also bad mouthing other customers to me as soon as they walked out the door. He also refused to give me his bosses name or contact information so I could discuss that my tires were never rotated and that they lied to me!!! Ray lies to your face, and is a complete jerk!

So I knew something was wrong w/my van.I dont live w/it in NYC,so picked it up from my uncles house for a trip.I saw that last years new tires were nearly bald in front. After abt 100 miles of driving,I promptly forgot abt it.Next day, I was towing and having a tough time w/ground clearance. I figured Id get to a Midas for same-day svc since we were far from home.My bald tires indeed were a greater issue than shocks. Sure enough,my tie rod ends were shot.Thank goodness my stupidity didnt cost us or someone else a lot more than money. Along w/tierods,they couldve sold me insanely expensive shocks(I wanted them),but they advised*against*it.They fixed me up that day during a camping trip and I owe them, big time.Their technicians and manager extraordinaire worked super hard and quickly. In a few hours,I had a new van that was infinitely safer for my kids and I in which to white-knuckle a 15 Shasta tow. Id make the drive back out to Newton from the Bronx in a heartbeat if I needed any Midas-related work they done. Excellent, very honest mechanics, all, and a clean,friendly,well-run shop.

I am the manager of this store. If you notice, the two unidentified negative reviews both make claims about badmouthing customers. I can assure everyone that this does not happen and both those reviews Im pretty sure are from one disgruntled ex-employee. As far as Mr Diorio, he did not get a simple clamp. He got a repair flex unit installed for $160 instead of a new exhaust which saved him approx $800. As far as the brake hoses, there was a computer error in the price that he was graciously refunded for immediately upon notification. And the brake fluid was not just bled but completely flushed due to excessive copper in the fluid which is an indicator of moisture. We at Midas service approximately 4,500 cars a year and have VERY few complaints. One legitimate complaint on Google in the last 4 yrs and 18,000 customers is a pretty good track record, dont ya think? :-)

What a fantastic experience! I found myself out of town with a dead battery on a foreign car. It was a holiday weekend and most shops were closed and AAA had no batteries in stock. The local auto parts store had the battery I needed but refused to install it. I called this shop and they took care of my car immediately! I drove over and they pulled it in, found that they had two different batteries that could be installed, and got the car up and running again within 20 minutes. The team was exceptionally friendly and made the experience a very positive one. I couldnt recommend them more highly.
