This Gym has changed quite a bit from what I can see from other reviews. Been there a month and I dont experience the issues others have other than the bathrooms (the male one anyways) reminding me of my highschool locker room, smelly and yeah, kinda gross. But I rarely if ever use the bathrooms. I come ready to lift so I dont need to change, and I drop my bag off at the downstairs lockers instead of the locker rooms upstairs. This is a powerlifters dream gym. I wouldnt call it a MANS GYM, cause there are strong women here too. The simple way to describe it is this is a no frills gym for people who want to be strong and aim to be strong. Gender means nothing, motivation and intention do. Lift the weight, then drop it, bang it around, yell, grunt, curse. Its all good here. Seen plenty of other girls and guys here doing cardio upstairs on the treads/bikes/ellipticals or taking some of the classes that go on downstairs. They sell protein at the counter and a few other supplements and goodies, drinks, etc. They have a custodian who keeps the place clean now. Its not spotless. Its not as clean, white, or colorful as say Retro, WOW, planet, or other Globo gyms, but its still way better than some other really dank gyms Ive been to. Also I havent seen any broken equipment/machines. I dont use machines but Ive seen people using each of the machines in there so Im sure none are broken. There are Cons, certainly. Not enough barbells downstairs. Sometimes I need to wait to start squatting or deadlifting because both squat racks are taken and theres only 1 barbell to deadlift with. Could I ask to work in with whoevers using them? Sure, and I have before, but I generally dont want to interupt someone elses flow. Another 1 or 2 barbells sitting in the corner for anybody wanting to use them would be nice to see. I also feel like there arent enough plates. Every time Im there I feel like Im playing hide and go seek with any of the plates. Sometimes its the 45s, or the 10s, definitely the 35s. Most of the time you find them still on a machine. They ask for members to return weights when done, looks like about half the gym follows that request ( which is more than Ive seen at some other gyms). Understaffed. Theres maybe 1 or 2 staff members there at any time, sometimes 3. But they are hiring! So I know they are trying to resolve that. Parking can be an issue considering theres only 6 spots. Ive been lucky to have a spot open everytime so far. My final gripes are the lack of Kettlebells and zero bumper plates. They have a few kettlebells, you must ask staff at the counter to use them, and they only have as heavy as 20lbs. But there are no bumper plates so if you expect to do Olympic lifts be cautious. They dont mind you dropping the weight, but still its kind of rough to drop 250+ lbs of steel straight to the floor from your shoulders or above your head. Overall if strength is your goal, you like a friendly atmosphere, and dont mind a bit of grit, Id recommend the place. Its also pretty cheap.

This gym is great for men because it is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week and you can work out for as long as you need too but in regards to parking, bathrooms, hygene and overall fitness help I can definitely say its the worst. The gym is very dirty but that is all due to it being a "real mans gym" the only thing I can complain is that they dont have towels, they dont have a sauna, and the machines are very old where some dont even work. I traveled down a mile down in edgewater and there is a gym thats called East Coast Fitness which is GREAT! they arent open 24 hours which sucks but the good thing is they have towel service clean showers with soap, blow dryers clean equipment staff is constantly wiping down the machines, yes some are old but are just as usable as the new ones and the weight training equipment is perfect to work out with. Its a very co-ed gym where they have classes for people and even a place to take care of your kids in case your working out and have no one to watch your kid and I highly reccomend it if you want a clean descent gym. Dumbells is great and all but like I said before its a "real mans gym" you want to box, lift weights and get big THEN THIS IS YOUR GYM! no personal trainers, no protein shakes just pure straight heavy weight lifting in dumbells this is what I like most about this gym. Overall just as fernando stated 2 years ago rates are reasonable and some of the equipment is still usable its not that pricey and overall you get what you pay for... Hope this helps

The staff try to be helpful. But at the end of the day, they cant cut it. The bathroom are down right foul. I stay away from them from fear of catching anything!!! The gym is a realistic real gym. Nothing fancy. Just good hardcore weights and equipment. Although if a piece of equipment breaks, dont expect to use it again. The clientele, well thats the worst part. An unwritten rule in the gym, although they do have it in their contract, is to replace equipment. I can understand a few weights here and there... But some of the stuff that goes on their is rediculous!!! I weight bar with about 6 - 45lbs on each side just left out bc 2 guys wanted to do situps simultaneously... People who go there dont care because the staff doesnt enforce anything. Young kids who think theyre ripped grunting and yelling and dropping weights all over the place... A huge distraction. I even found a 42oz beer can in the downstairs trash can. SAFE!!!! Only thing they offer is great hours and a decent rate.

The gym is decent in the sense that it is 24/7, machines are out-dated. The regular staff are ok but as for the lady manager...she is something else. She called me for a job offer while I was eating then hung up the phone after 15 sec (she called at 6pm...very professional timing) I went to the gym to confront her and she was loud and rude in front of customers. Telling me that I disrespected her by answering the phone while I am eating LOL if you are looking for a gym where the management is on point, refrain from this place.

Open 24hrs/ 7days a week with no custodial staff whatsoever! The gym is disgusting (filthy & foul), the equipment and the staff are a joke. If youre looking for a real gym dont waste your time here- and if you just dont know any better when it comes to signing up for a gym - do Urself a favor & take a piece of helpful advice: dont be a dumbass... steer clear of Dumbbells, it stinks (literally) 24/7- dont get fooled. There are plenty of better gyms just minutes from this dump. Try WOW (Workout World) right around the corner.

Good 24 hr. Gym Monday thru Sunday for those who are really serious about their work outs. Good atmosphere and a great crowd of clients at least at the times I have gone. No need to police the gym members like other gyms do for screaming or judging others. Everyone already knows better. Definitely a professional, no BS atmosphere. See Joe or Maryanne for all your needs. Really helpful owners and complimentary staff.
