This is the worst gym I have ever dealt with in regards to communication/customer service. At first the membership was 7.95 for base. I paid $20 or so to sign up. Next thing you know the membership dues are increasing. Theres never any real paper communication. So its always a surprise. I even searched my email box for communication. Recently I was charged an annual fee when I told them I didnt know I was being charged an annual fee since Im not on a contract/month to month membership they said they explained it. Hmm funny I have no records of that where it says that nor where I signed. Please show me. Next, I called to cancel and I have to come in or send a certified letter. Really?! No fax, email, this is 2015!!! This place has taken more than $500 out of my account this year between monthly dues/annual fees for the BASE membership. No training sessions, extra frills. That little old $8 membership they enticed me to sign up for cost me a crap ton more. I feel like once I called to cancel it then it became a hassle. Yet, now They deducted an annual fee of $40 without notice for an entire year I wont be there because of the cancellation of my membership. Im left feeling Aggravated and Robbed. Only thing they can say is "Sorry". Im sorry too, sorry I chose to do business with a gym that doesnt rank communication and customer service at the forefront of their operations.

1 star because the gym is decent and clean but the one staff member I spoke to and specifically the manager (Kevin Shah) are really unhelpful, lie and speak to you in a very condescending way. Here is what happened: I spoke to a staff member and I told them I wanted to cancel my membership, he told me to come a good week and half later and cancel on that date so I said sure and moved on. Now on the specified date I go back and try to cancel my membership and they tell me since it is not 10 days before my membership end date they will bill me for the next month, which I would understand and would willingly pay had I not already been there 10 days before to cancel my membership. Mr. shah (the manager) informs me "it is what it is..." and he can not ask the staff member what happened because it would be "he said she said" and there is nothing he can do. At this point I said ill be willing to pay, however I would like to fill a complain about the staff member lying to me and Mr. shah gives me his email.... like geez man thanks... what is the point of complaining to someone who does not care. I cut my looses and moved on. Just wanted to warn everyone, if a staff member tells you something regarding your account billing or anything important, get it in writing or Mr. shah will simply say "it is what it is..."

Great gym. All brand new equipment. Pros: Good classes at convenient times. Very affordable monthly rates with no long term contract. Brand new equipment. Cons: Not enough online account management. This gym opened finally in July 2014 after many delays. The classes are great. They have good certified trainers for the classes and for personal training. Almost all classes are only 30 minutes long. They play great club music most of the time through very good Bose speakers which puts you in the right mood for a workout. Class attendance is restricted to first come first serve based on the number of class tickets that they hand out 30 minutes before start of class. Some of the drawbacks are that they have no sauna or steam room (I got used to that at the NYSC that shut down down the road). They have no spin studio and just a few spin bikes. Online account management is still missing quite a few features.

This is truly the worst gym. Do yourselves a favor and stay far away from this place. Horrible customer service with rude employees. There are so many hidden costs/rates. The 1 hour of “free” personal training session turns into an inquisition on your health and diet which lasts at least 30 mins and then 10 minutes of workout and the rest of the time they just gang up on you to push you into signing up for additional personal training sessions. When I joined, I was told that I can try the classes (of course pay for them) for two months and then if I find that they are not for me, I can change the membership to the Basic without any penalty – well, wrong! When I tried to downgrade the membership, I was informed that they charge two months of class fees as penalty to downgrade! I would give this place “0” star if I could.

When this gym opened in North Brunswick, the staff and customer service was very cordial. I took personal training sessions for more than a year. Due to personal reasons I froze my personal training for 6 months. I missed out on informing that I wanted to continue my freeze as I was still not sure if I wanted to start personal training. Since my credit card got charged, I went to the gym to explain my situation and requested if I could get the refund and continue my freeze on personal training. I was told off rudely by the manager stating that the money will not be refunded. When I contacted the customer care listed on the website, I was told that the money cannot be refunded as this was handled locally and that they didnt have any authority to give me my money back.

Great environment and place to workout. The staff is super friendly and polite. They all seem to work together as a team. The manger of personal trainers (Sal) is very professional with dealing with his staff and clients . He defines professionalism and class when dealing with employees and clients . He seems to have a great foresight and a subtle wise patience with people. If there is an issue with almost anything it is dealt with immediately. The Front Desk staff as well is amazing. Morning worker Steve is Top Notch. Anyone in the area looking for a well run health club . Look no further

I would give 4.5 stars if I could. Affordable. Still getting used to using a big gym vs the smaller neighborhood one I came from, but everything is well-maintained and clean. The music mix tends to be decent or tolerable even if the volume sometimes gets higher than necessary - headphones might serve you better than earbuds if its not to your taste. I dont do classes or personal training so I cant speak to those.

If I could give this gym no stars I would. The level of rudeness and ignorance at this gym by its staff is laughable. " general manager" Kevin Shah) needs to either A. Get better training on how to approach members and not sound condescending or B. Replaced and the gym get new management to improve the facility. Real shame because my experience at other crunch facilities have been amazing.

Had a bad experience with scheduling personal training sessions there. Got confirmation emails on 2 sessions scheduled to find out showing up in the AM that I was double booked. You would think that paying the premium for personal training would guaranteed at least a session when booked. Nope. Which is a real shame because I liked the gym.
