Dont let the nice equipment and cheap rates fool you, the staff here is filled with a liar (the head "trainer" tries to con you into buying insanely overpriced services and lies about his fitness accomplishments) and complainers. Drop a weight so you dont hurt yourself after a heavy set? They will yell at you. Grunt while lifting during a heavy set..they will tell you to be quiet. Its like those Planet Fitness gym chains they have now where a "lunk alarm" goes off when bodybuilders show up and train hard and make noises while squatting or dropping the heavy dumbells. Ive talked to a few other members who have been scolded for the same things as well. We already have enough hassles in our daily lives, why get more at a gym? I recommend oceanside or world gym vineland.

As a person who joined island at 355 lbs and have lost almost 100lbs in under a year.. The gym has treated me well, its 24/7. The staff is super friendly.. Someone said in their review that they are like Planet Fitness and yell at gym goes who powerlift and bodybuild and slam weights and grunt and what not.. No they do not.. I powerlift and have never once been yelled at even late late at night when its quiet for grunting and slamming weights when I deadlift.. The equipment could use a upgrade.. But if youre looking for a 24/7 gym and a friendly little community within it.. Island is a goto.. Ive met a lot of good people through this gym. Highly recommended

So I recently moved to EHT area and I went in to find out about memberships. Looks like a nice enough place. I waited 15 minutes at the front desk and no one seemed to notice or care I was there. Finally I called the place, while standing at the front desk, on my cell phone and someone came up. He seemed annoyed or like I was disrupting his day. He rattled off some membership prices and didnt offer to show me the facilities. With attitudes and this kind of treatment F them. Hopefully theyre better to their members, because they obviously dont want new members...or at least male ones.

This gym is by far the best in the area. You get the best bang for your buck. Its a dollar a day and they have all the equipment and ROOM that you need to complete workout. Every person Ive met here has only tried to help me improve my well being and that goes a long way. Highly recommend any new gym goer to start at island

Island is great! The facilities are clean, members and staff are friendly, and it is a fun place to work out. Their classes and trainers are the best, and the price cannot be beat.
