Hello Everyone, I would like to say that earlier today, Michael Padula, the bald headed owner/manager/ told me, "you have to go"... I was not formally accused of wrongdoing in writing or the like, by any particular staffer or client, but in all honesty, most judgemental/bigotted folks stay anonymous... At any rate, Michael Padula stated, "Ive gotten complaints from the staff and the clients". "in which case, either was good enough to terminate my contract". FYI folks, if you want to get out of your contract, just be talkative, friendly, and bluntly honest... I almost guarantee that the honest part will get you kicked out and terminate your contract... with a FULL REFUND! (refund status still in the twilight zone, I will get back to this page if not completed) Good news: 1. I was told I would get a full refund, no love lost... 2. There is a Retro Fitness closer to my house... in Hackensack... lets see how that goes 3. I love the Retro Fitness theater concept, what a no brainer for a great/fun cardio workout 4. The space is nice. The space is clean. The space is comfortable, but the color scheme can be a bit overwhelming to some. 5. There are some staffers who are AMAZING. "Shay", Jimmy, and a few others... 6. Yum yum to the peanut butter and chocolate smoothies Bad News: 1. Michael Padula is not the friendliest guy in the world... passive/aggressive tendencies dont bide well by me... In public, and at the gym, he was approachable and polite... Buyer beware!!! An evil monster lurks inside... Padula is a tool. 2. This is reflective of a personal interaction with a girl nicknamed red... one of the gym worker bees.... People who call themselves, "smart", are generally not so... let me just say... humility is much better than boasting. She is young... hopefully shell learn/improve, recognize and change her boastful ways. red is a tool. 3. I at no time interfered with business. I just said hello and goodbye to people and talked them up. I at no time tried to be malicious or evil. The road to hell is paved with good intentions... Welcome hell... Im on my way. 4. There is a 1 year contract when you sign up. Final thoughts: Join if you like an economical choice. Understand there is a one year contract. Avoid the tools in the gym, and your stay/workouts should be pretty addictive/meaningful/productive.

This place is great!!! The staff are all friendly and they really do care about the members. every cardio machine (stationary bike, elliptical, treadmill) has its own little tv to plug your headphones in so to avoid distractions and not feel bored when working out. the free weights are great. whenever i go there, i see the staff holding towels and other things to clean the machines. ive seen someone crawling on the treadmill with a wet towel to clean off the dirt and dust by pushing it forward and getting every bit of every machine! they have a juice bar that makes HEALTHY protein shakes and have protein bars on sale. the place i went to before, Palisadium, had only bad junks like candy and chips. everyone there is polite, and the locker rooms are super clean all the time. the place is nice, and the shower stalls and toilets are always clean as well. the place is only $20 a month! it even has a movie room where the members can watch movies on a big screen while using cardio machines. the inside is dark and the movies are great. some of the ones ive watched are get smart, what happens in vegas, the davinci code, and james bond movies. the free weights are marvelous. everyone is friendly, and i dont feel ashamed sweating like crazy and stretching on the floor like with other gyms. everyones doing the same thing. there are hundreds of machines (probably about 100 of every cardio machine) and the people that go there are also doing the same things as me. im only 15, and there are actually kids younger than me, which makes me feel better as i used to be the youngest in my previous gym. the atmosphere is great. many people come in groups or pairs, and its very fun just to get to go there and work out on the machines. i never feel bored b/c of the tvs and channels and movies that they provide. i recommend Retro to anyone and everyone

Its a basic gym with plenty as far as cardio equipment, but thats about it ... I found myself bored after a few months, and havent gone back in almost a year now .... I just finished writing my cancellation letter, which has to be sent Certified Mail. Ridiculous. They have a small aerobic room, and they have just started to try and bring in aerobic instructors, however, the room is so small its first come first serve so its hard to get a space without having to be on top of one another. Also, the classes are all over 6:30, nothing immediately after work .... Ive asked about that and been told, "well work on it". That was 6-7 months ago. I dont like that they collect an annual $29.00 fee, you have to sign a 1-year contract, and they constantly advertise, "Special membership- 22.00 a month" when that is the actually going rate. I left Golds Gym for this place and Im sorry I did - its like Rolex vs Timex. Its the last time I ever sign a 1-year contract, and join a low-end health club. To be honest, I think this gym is better suited for younger clientele -

I have been a member now since Feb. of 2010 and I can say that this has been money well spent. #1 the cost is pretty cheap, and you can perform really any exercise there without any problem. #2 The place itself is very clean and the staff are always friendly and helpful. #3 For the most part it is never too crowded to the point where it is difficult to perform a routine, every gym has its busy times, but it is almost always easy to use what I need too. They also have plenty of treadmills/ellipticals/bikes to get a solid cardio workout. There are a few tools that go there, but for the most part it is a varied group of people and everyone keeps to themselves and does what they are there to do...workout. I would def. recommend this place to people I know, and have. If you are in the area and are looking for a solid gym at a good price I suggest this place.

I used to like this place and recommend it to people. IT IS HORRIBLE AND FILLED WITH RUDE PEOPLE. Also very dishonest. But my gym membership ended more than a year and a half ago and they charged me for 18 months straight even though I did not go. When I mentioned to them that my contract was soon to end, they did not even tell me that it wont terminate my membership. I only found out about them charging me when my credit card number changed and they had to contact me. When I called them and kindly asked them to explain to me what was going on? Why was I charged for a year and a half and I wasnt even going? They said that I not only need to pay the whole balance, that I would also need to do it fast before the end of the month so they dont charge me again. They were so rude. HORRIBLE PLACE. all they care about it money
