CROOKS !!!! ...do not join this club. My whole family just cancelled their memberships today (Parsippany, NJ). We not only had a membership but we paid for a year for personal training. When we signed the contract we were told that any member of the family could use the hours. Then when my daughter tried to book a session they told her she couldnt use them. My husband called to speak with the Manager (Joe) who signed us up but he no longer worked there, so he went in and spoke with the new Manager (Guillermo) and he said it was fine that all we had to do was have my daughter go in with him. When my daughter and my husband went in together, there was yet another Manager (Brian) who said there was no way that anyone but my husband could use the training hours because we werent listed as a family. ...hmm... we all have the same last name and we all live at the same address. We tried to explain that it shouldnt be our fault if their employee entered the information incorrectly. He told us there was nothing he could do but that we could try to speak with Corporate. The next day I called Corporate and spoke with Dalton, I asked if he was a Manager and could actually help me or should I speak with his superior. He assured me that he had was a manager and could help me. When I explained the situation, and gave him each of our numbers from our id tags, he put me on hold for a few minutes and when he came back on...he apologized for the way we were treated and then said he took care of the problem that we were all now listed under the same family and any of us could use the trainer for which we had paid over $400 for. I said are you sure if my daughter goes in with her tag she will be able to book a trainer he said "Yes definitely, just wait a couple of days for it to process"....I said okay, shell wait until Monday. Today, Dalton called my house and spoke with my husband and said he was very sorry but he was taking back what he promised us the day before. The only one who would be able to use the trainer was my husband. UNBELIEVABLE!!! what CROOKS...and this from their corporate office. Four of us went in there today and cancelled. When my daughter asked the supposed Operations Manager to sign the sheet because we no longer trust this company or their word, the Manager refused and wouldnt even tell her her name....IDIOT, we looked her up on line her name is Jennifer, and when we has her the Branch Managers name she refused to tell us that either. DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR BUSINESS....you will be sorry

After being a member of LA Fitness for roughly 10 years, Ive made the decision to cancel my membership based on the constant degradation of not just the building itself, but of the equipment, staff, bathroom and locker room facilities. The entire unit as a whole seems to be continuously falling down and from what Ive witnessed nobody seems to care. Equipment is broken for months at a time; black mold present in the bathroom, showers, locker room; dirty floors, walls, sinks, mirrors, employees; the place smells as though nobody has ever cleaned; trash cans overflowing; paper towels not present at any point in time; and a staff that is that of a revolving door. I cant seem to see the same person in the gym for more than 2 weeks without them disappearing and being replaced by a brand new employee. After a lengthy email to corporate to inform them of the issues I received a reply simply stating (and Im paraphrasing) I understand your frustration. We want to provide a good club for members. I gave the info to our District Operations Manager. Cancel via online form printed out and taken in to club or sent via regular mail. And that was it without including an apology, sincerity, no offering of assistance or resolution to the concerns. Simply a statement that to me says Sure we know there are issues, but we dont really care. I implore anybody reviewing this or any LA Fitness to take a long hard look at the gym and not sign anything or pay a single dollar until youve done full research. When you do youll find this club lacking in anything worth even $5 of your money.

If I was able to give them a 0 I would have. They have made it so unbearable for me to even want to continue going. For the second time I showed up for a training session and my trainer was a no-show. No type of resolution except Brian (Training Supervisor) says, oh I can schedule you with someone else. How unprofessional. I travel pass 2 other gyms in order to get to LA Fitness and LA Fitness is not the cheapest at all, but because I was loyal I continued to go. They absolutely suck and once my membership is done I will NEVER cross the threshold of this gym ever again. ********UPDATE******** I spoke with corporate and they are reimbursing my Jan payment that they should have never taken. Now I am still having current issues regarding the 6 training sessions that I have already paid for. I purchased 6 training sessions at the beginning of Oct 2014. My first training session was setup for Oct 15 @ 8pm. I get there an no trainer. My next 2 sessions were fine. I had a scheduled session set for Feb 13, 2015, I get there and yet again no trainer and today, Feb 17 had a 12pm scheduled training session and I get to LA Fitness and they are closed. Not once during their 3 missed training sessions had they called me to reschedule. I paid a total of 559.00 for 6 sessions, I will now be seeking reimbursement from them for 279.51 for the 3 missed sessions since i have cancelled my membership, i should not have to loose out because of their incompetence. This is by far the worst gym I have ever joined and seeing the end is not seeing it soon enough.

I went to LA Fitness on Jan 20 2015 to find out membership info. I was immediately thrust into to signing a contract and paying for the membership. The gentleman I spoke with is Brian Ferreira, Employee identification no 1965176. He told me that I have 7 days to cancel my membership for full refund. I went back to the facility on Jan 23 2015 to cancel my membership. Brian did make me sign paperwork for that and he also signed my cancellation form as he is a manager. When I asked for a copy for my records he said he will email me also I would receive a copy by mail, which I have never received to this day. LA Fitness charged me $259 on Jan 20 2015. They again charged me $160 on Feb 20 2015, and March 20 2015. I have repeatedly asked my American Express credit card company not to approve these charges but they are still paying them because on LA Fitness file I still am an active member. The Manager Brian has never filed my cancellation paperwork either to the facility or the headquarters. Today, 04/09/2015 I went to LA Fitness in Parsippany, NJ to inquire about this issue. Brian the manager was not helpful and also very rude and unprofessional. When I asked for his full name and business card he bluntly refused. While Brian busy training someone another gentleman helped us named Elvis. Elvis looked into their system and told us that someone has made a note for the cancellation on Jan 23 2015 but its never been processed. If I could I wont even give them a quarter star. HORRIBLE STAFF!!! BIGGEST SCAM! STAY AWAY!
