I actually went to this place twice in a week. I am from the west and was traveling to visit family and I am always on the lookout for a good Indian place. This is one of the *best* Indian restaurants I have been to in the US. And I have sampled quite a few. I went to the Piscataway restaurant and the ambiance was really cool. Beautifully decorated place. The staff was very friendly and they accommodated our special request for our kids. And the food.... OMG !! The naan in this place is possibly the best I have had in recent years... so soft and fluffy and flavorful... All their entrees were very skilfully done and the appetizers - Kachori - were so delicious !!! the desert was so fresh and tasty.. Gajar ka Halwa and Sohan Papdi.. YUMM !!! Great value for money and a great experience in total !!! For anybody who wants to avoid the guesswork and have a fun and tasty dining experience, this is a must-try place.

Pathetic service, Manager is so rude and unprofessional. We had our kids first birthday party today, while booking for party, manager was very polite but on the party day his behaviour was very different. He kept complaining about kids making noise(what else do you expect in a party) and was giving rude gestures to my guests as if they are doing anything wrong, more than 2 of my guests complained about this. I felt very ashamed and embarassed. Worst of it happened while we were leaving, I asked her to pack some food for my wife who could not eat buffet as she was attending other guests, he simply refused and said I do not believe you as if Im lying. This when I paid more than 400$ for the party. He literally spoiled my childs first birthday party. This is highly unprofessional, I will never go to Chand Palace again and would not recommend anybody to have a party there.

Its been my experience more than once that at Chand Palace never go with a group of more than 2-3 people.. There are somethings that this people will never do right.. 1) They will make the whole group wait for BREAD for long long time.. its like getting your plate and then wait for the server to come and ask you if you need bread.. These people suck there. 2) Does not matter how many people are in the group they will get probably 2-3 breads and serve.. 3) NEVER have a party at this place.. More than once the Manager and the servers will come and tell that you people are making noise.. They expect everyone to sit quiet and eat or wait for breads to be served. 4) Food is not that good always - menu selection on same days is very very bad and my last expereince was that I was on that day. AVOID It if you can... 2-3 people go BUT for BIG GROUPS - a BIG NO here.

To the comment below by ashutosh. Im sorry but you are completely wrong. Chand palace is full of great service and great servers. They may have not reached you in time, but they are only human not machines. the prices are good enough and equal to the quality of their food. If you can not afford the money, then home cooked meals are another option, which are fresh unlike the food which chand palace serves is from 2 nights ago, as you stated. If chand palace was as bad as you have described it, then Im not quite sure why they have a full-house business EVEN on the weekdays! they have always been charging kids from ages 4-9 exception to kids who eat very little or nothing at all. If you did not want to pay for your kid, then chand palace has mondays where 1 kid is free for every one adult. One of the best vegetarian restaurants I know of.

Consistently good Indian food across the board and perhaps some of the best food found in the United States. Pretty much anything ordered off the menu from starters to desserts are really good. The owner, Sunil, is always going around making sure that the everyone is pleased with his/her meal and is a fantastic chef himself. Enough good things cant be said about the place and is pretty much our entire familys to go place for Indian food in Jersey. Make sure to have a reservation because this place can be crowded. The space is a bit on the tight side so sometimes it can be tough to walk around without bumping into someone while the lunch buffet is served. In the end you will love the food despite the rush and noise. Dont miss out on the desserts if you do partake in the lunch buffet.

Came here for lunch and waited outside the restaurant for half hour. The manager came outside and called our party so we walked in not even 30 seconds after and he tells me I gave your table to someone else. So Im like thats ridiculous how are you not going to wait for us and he goes too bad il give you the next table and to wait another 30-40 minutes. Worst customer service I have ever experienced at any business. On top of that while I was trying to record the situation he pushed me back and tried to make me drop my phone. Employees should not be touching other customers. Please hire people that know how to do their job and know how to control a business when things get busy. Ridiculous service would never come back here and would never recommend anyone come here again.

The food is absolutely wonderful. The spices are exactly perfect and since I like extra spicy food, they even did that for me. The lunch buffets are great because I can go in during my 1 hour break, have a huge feast for less than 10 bucks, and come back before my hour is over. My favorite dishes are the cholle, vegetable manchurian, and hot and sour soup, but all the dishes are always so good! The service is great. All the staff is always courteous and cooperative. The decor is beautiful. I love all of the paintings, the brick walls, and the fireplace. PS. the back room is great too! i had my daughters 1st birthday there and it was such a great hit. Overall, you wont be able to find a great restaurant like this.

Vegetarians heaven!! In a buffet who gives you a soup, 3-5 appetizers, 5 entrees, your choice of naan, noodles, 2 biryaanis & then top it off with like 6 different desserts!! I like the ambience as well as the music they play. All of it at a 5-star quality & excellent service, yes even for a buffet! I believe they deserve the gratuity, otherwise you wont have good waiters work there! Owner recognizes you as your regular customer, personally comes and asks how are things and talks nicely with you playing a good host! All of this for $16.95/plate, I think its a steal! I have been going there for last 4 years with family & friends, and if they keep it up Ill be going there for the next 40! :-)

Wow I read almost all the bad review. I completely disagree with any bad review. I have visited almost hundred times between Chand Palace in Parsippany and Piscataway. Food is always great taste. Never change taste. Some people has complain about pricey, I guess they must have eat out only cheap restaurant in their life. This price is average price. People complain about added 15% gratuity, I cannot believe cheap mentality of those who dont want to pay that portion. Any restaurant in USA will charge you 15% gratuity minimum. Chand Palace is the best restaurant with great taste and more variety of different dishes. Wonderful atmosphere.
