I wish I could give 0 stars. I take my car in to get some work done on my front right wheel, windshield and bumper. First problem, before I even get my car back... I was told by my insurance I could pick up my car so next I call up TA to inform them of the good news... Peter, the owner and manager, tells me "progressive is not telling me how to run my shop" so now I need to wait another day for him to go over it with my insurance... He knows I have no rental car, doesnt care... I let it slide. Then it got bad... I get my car back... before I leave the parking lot I notice automatic car entry is not working, I go back in to inform them, never get to speak to anyone but Laura at the front desk who is actually sweet - but she comes back out and basically relays the information that it could be the batteries - which is reasonable and I already inferred. I told her thats fine, Ill check the spare and told her if its a matter of anything else Ill be back to go over it. Over the period of a day - my car starts to shut off on its own... I get a no fuse light coming on whatever that means, the radio doesnt shut off when I take the key out... So I call them back up and speak with Peter, he says "maybe a battery wasnt connected properly or something like that when we were working on it but I still dont think it was us, we are closing in 5 minutes (saturday afternoon, understandable) Ill look at it on Monday." click. Monday - Me taking off work to bring it in - I get there and wait a while for him to come out. He comes out with a hugeeee attitude I ask him right off the bat can we go look at whats wrong: "Im not coming out from behind the desk" Im like "okay let me tell you whats wrong" - I start to tell him about the laundry list above and get interrupted (maybe 30 seconds of talking) before I get - "Can I talk now?" I go sure - "have you ever woken up with a cold?" He made this analogy maybe five times six different ways before I actually realized this guy is %1000 going to watch his dollar and shun the customer, it wouldnt matter if he took a crowbar to the taillight it still wouldnt be his fault. He said there was absolutely nothing done with electric on this car (different then his original reaction with the battery over the phone)... I have a wheel sensor to measure the pressure, a wheel he replaced and that is now reading the pressure of the new wheel. He had no defense for this and just reverted to his analogy... He kept saying how he deserved to get paid to fix something he broke from behind the counter as I walked out the door. Ive had a lot of experiences with mechanics (roughly 40 different mechanics for odds and ends over my years). If I took my worst experience and multiplied it by 100 it wouldnt be as bad as what this guy Peter did to me... THEY MESSED UP MY CAR AND REFUSED TO FIX IT ON THEIR DOLLAR. and even if I was wrong about what happened (I dropped my car off and coincidently came back with four or five new problems). Shouldnt the customer come first? Shouldnt he be sorry that happened or something like that? This guy doesnt care about anybody but himself. I went in there in peace with an open mind and after a painful discussion and realizing his was closed; I wrote this, my first and only review. EVER. Im skipping something right now to write it thats how awful an experience this was for me. This guy was arrogant, rude, insulting, stubborn, hateful, inept and apparently his work reflects this as my car is now unsafe to drive after his doing and he doesnt care that me driving away could be a danger. He wont even get out from behind the counter to inspect. DONT USE TOWNE AUTO.

I wish I can give this place negative stars. The owner Peter is such a crook and condescending, everybody should find other place for any auto repairs. I went to get body work done for my fathers car. Peter told us we have to replace the part and gave us an estimate. We agreed on price based on replacement of the part and dropped off car for the body work. When the car was ready after extra week of delay, we found out instead of replacing the part we agreed on, he repaired the part. He said he did it so he can save us money. But funny thing is, he didnt give us any discount or gave me a call to notify me with any changes. Also we couldnt pick up the car that day because car wasnt completely fixed. On following morning at 5:45am, he sent me an email with revised estimate changed with repair. What kind of business practice is this. He gives you an estimate to get the job and changes his estimate after completing the body work and he doesnt even tell you. And he keeps extra savings in his pocket ??? One more thing, he was asking for money even before he was going over the work he has done. Please please please, beware of this place!!!!!! I dont usually post any reviews, but I was so upset, I dont want any others to go through the same. Its not just about money. Its matter of ethics and principle!!!! Even my rental car place people knew about Peter and said they stopped doing business with him few years ago. I wish I knew!

I moved to Morris County from Hoboken back in 2014 so when I was rear ended at a stop light I wasnt too sure where to bring my car. Ive only ever been to one body shop and I didnt feel like driving into Jersey City. I found this place online and I am sure glad I decided to go with them.. From the moment you walk into the shop you know your about to get first rate service; very clean & inviting and the owner was very easy to deal with. They even have enterprise onsite which made everything so much less complicated. They did an excellent job repairing the damage on my front & rear bumper. Car looked great when I picked it up. They provide a lifetime warranty on all their work which puts an extra cherry on top the already great service this shop provides. Hopefully there wont be a need to use this shop again due to an accident but I know where I am going to take any of my 3 vehicles when body or detailing work is needed.

this is my second car i brought towne auto. the first car was a pearl white subaru. satin pearl white is one of the hardest colors to match perfect and most shops will turn you away. not towne auto. they took my subaru and fully replaced and painted my bumper to near perfect match. after loving the work on my subaru i brought towne auto my 00 integra type r with a custom color paint job.... now i went to 4 other shops before going to towne to get ideas of price ect on color matching my damaged fender. towne was THE ONLY SHOP THAT SAID "WE CAN DO IT" . a custom color is hard to get perfect without a color code. towne came through and did an amazing job. the owner made sure the work was perfect and when i got the car i was shocked it was spot on. you can bring your car here with no worries and expect top notch work. the owner could smile a bit more but his work is very good. i would highly recommend towne auto.
