Coach Malcolm was awesome during my visit! I was shown the process and procedures for working out at Run Jump Lift first and foremost. Everything was demostrated to me so I could ensure I had proper form and I was given 3 choices for a workout. I started my WOD (of my choice which was BRAND NEW to me) and was continuously motivated the entire time. Coach Malcolm makes it fun - his intentions are clearly to make you the best you can be! He pushed me to my limits because he believed I could do it! The neatest thing about this gym is that YOU are accountable for your own workout! You are accountable for keeping the gym clean. However, the coaches are there to motivate you and keep you chugging along..... The technology Coach Malcolm incorporates is incredible. He requires you to log your workout into a computer system as soon as you are done. And you can compare your scores to those in the gym and all around the world! He also has a great video catalog of his clients. When they can see themselves do well on a computer or see what they need to change on form - he has caught it on camera. I was completely impressed with Coach Malcolms ability to keep up with all of this current technology. His gym really really impressed me, as did the people that worked out there and all of the coaches. I can not wait to come back again when I am in Newark and kick it!!!!!

I joined here as I was spending $ elsewhere and not going. After 4 kids, many false starts at fitness, crazy hours at work and a 40th birthday looming I wanted to make sustainable change. This is a real personal training workout with focus on continuous improvement and a set-up that makes you feel comfortable regardless of your level of fitness. I have come so far already with my workouts - now I do squats, presses, push-ups, pull-ups and more. I feel that this gym is part of my routine now - I feel grumpy when I dont get to go - its nearby, low-key and I see a big difference in my fitness level in a short period of time. i love that if I miss my early AM slot that I can come in evening. Its like boot-camp on a flexible schedule which works for me. Malcolm and Amy are excellent dedicated coaches. RJL has a great atmosphere and I would recommend to anyone, regardless of fitness ability. The routines are geared over 4 levels (green to black) which makes it very easy to work to your level, or to push to do more.

Well at least the necessary 4-6 days a week to keep me smiling. I stopped in while I was up in New Jersey visiting the rents, currently live in Maryland and train at balance gym in DC. Malcolm got me to choose his gym with my initial phone call, much friendlier and responsive than anyone else I called. Malcolm and Kara were awesome, gave me great pointers especially on cleans. Malcolm was very encouraging and I got a great sense of his enthusiasm and passion. It wasnt too busy when I was there and I was glad to have the personal attention. I like the style of the open gym, and that I had four workouts to choose from. It was different than having to rush to make it to class, but still had that good comraderie and team atmosphere amongst the coaches and other trainees. I definitely plan to come in whenever I am in town visiting.

Run Jump Lift is a truly special Crossfit gym. The community of people are supportive and encouraging of one another. All skill levels, ages and walks of life are represented and treated to excellent coaching by Coaches Malcolm, Kara and Oshane. I have been a member for two years and my endurance, strength and belief in myself and my capabilities has never been higher. Usually I get bored, but because the workouts are constantly changing and there are multiple levels to aspire to, I am always pushed to the next level of my training. South Orange/Maplewood is lucky to have such a fun and results-oriented crossfit gym in its community. I would highly recommend to anyone looking to challenge themselves and grow in their fitness and in their life!

Provided I stay in the area, I will be working out here. I wouldnt consider going anywhere else at this point. Not a lot of bells and whistles. Honestly, I was skeptical when I first pulled up to the place in June 08, but Malcoms enthusiasm is infectious, so I signed on for the first month and havent looked back. Each workout, as Malcom would probably say, is like a scaled, interval based athletic event. Repetition and routine are the enemies. The idea is to always challenge your body in new ways while tracking your progress. You always log your workout results, which allows you to compete against your past self and compare to other members. Coming here every day after work is the highlight of my day.

I feel that Run Jump Lift has the best way to train, by far. Ive belonged to a lot of gyms and there is nothing like this out there. You just dont workout - you learn how to workout. And the workouts are always challenging, and always different. You are never bored at this gym. Ive noticed an improvement not only in my tennis game but in my overall physical well being. We also record our own workouts on the computer so that we can follow our own progress. For me, this is the perfect gym!

My 20 year old son and I went for a day to RunJumpFit and had a great experience. We have been doing CrossFit in Los Angeles for a few years and have visited other CrossFit gyms as well. The coaches at RJF were very welcoming and gave us a choice of three workouts, a little unusual for CrossFit gyms. They gave exactly the right amount of coaching, suggesting form improvements without coming on too strong. Thanks, guys!!

Malcolm put the fun back in working out. He is totally inspiring and has taught me that I can achieve much more than I had ever thought. I am feeling the effects of this not just in my body but also in how I approach other challenges in my life. Not to mention the fact that I am in the best shape Ive ever been in!

Very spacious and well-equipped place. Multiple rooms with everything from the barbell/dumbbell/kettlebell works to tyres, ropes, pegboards, stones etc. Nice outdoor area and an awesome vibe! Coach Malcolm has a good thing going here!

The best place to workout in the area. The coaches are superb. The workouts are well-programmed. And the strong community makes everyone, regardless of ability, feel comfortable and at home.

Stay away from this place at all cost! The owner is arrogant and yells at people like they are children. Not a pleasant experience.
