CROOKS !!!! ...do not join this club. My whole family just cancelled their memberships today (Parsippany, NJ). We not only had a membership but we paid for a year for personal training. When we signed the contract we were told that any member of the family could use the hours. Then when my daughter tried to book a session they told her she couldnt use them. My husband called to speak with the Manager (Joe) who signed us up but he no longer worked there, so he went in and spoke with the new Manager (Guillermo) and he said it was fine that all we had to do was have my daughter go in with him. When my daughter and my husband went in together, there was yet another Manager (Brian) who said there was no way that anyone but my husband could use the training hours because we werent listed as a family. ...hmm... we all have the same last name and we all live at the same address. They tried to explain that it shouldnt be our fault if their employee entered the information incorrectly. He told us there was nothing he could do but that we could try to speak with Corporate. The next day I called Corporate and spoke with Dalton, I asked if he was a Manager and could actually help me or should I speak with his superior. He assured me that he had was a manager and could help me. When I explained the situation, and gave him each of our numbers from our id tags, he put me on hold for a few minutes and when he came back on...he apologized for the way we were treated and then said he took care of the problem that we were all now listed under the same family and any of us could use the trainer for which we had paid over $400 for. I said are you sure if my daughter goes in with her tag she will be able to book a trainer he said "Yes definitely, just wait a couple of days for it to process"....I said okay, shell wait until Monday. Today, Dalton called my house and spoke with my husband and said he was very sorry but he was taking back what he promised us the day before. The only one who would be able to use the trainer was my husband. UNBELIEVABLE!!! what CROOKS...and this from their corporate office. Four of us went in there today and cancelled. When my daughter asked the supposed Operations Manager to sign the sheet because we no longer trust this company or their word, the Manager refused and wouldnt even tell her her name....IDIOT, we looked her up on line her name is Jennifer, and when we asked her the Branch Managers name she refused to tell us that either, so we asked a different employee. DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR BUSINESS....you will be sorry

Fair review. Staff friendlyness 3 stars. Work ethic 2 stars. Seldom will you see them policing the gym, god help us if they re-rack a weight without upper management being there! I told an employee once, why did he just let that guy leave 16 45lbs plates on the leg press without saying anything to him. He just said oh well the next person can take use them. I responded "not everyone can leg press 720lbs stupid" and walked away. Spa is mostly closed... What am I paying for? I can get a regular gym membership for 20 bucks instead of paying 40. The bathroom and locker rooms always smell... I understand its a gym but really? All the time? The smell its worst at the clifton location. Paper towels and hand soup is always lacking. Both Saunas clifton and wayne are in desparate need of attention. I always use it (if its working) while When Im in it I do my best not the let my skin touch the wood. Health inspectors should see how dirty it. LA fitness use to be a good gym when I first joined in 07 but since is now going down the drain as Ballys did. Seems to me that all they care about is opening new locations without maintaining their current ones. The only reason Im still a member is because its close to my job, but I am looking at other options, if i am a gym with YMCA quality Ill go to the Y and pay half as much. I would review the clifton one, but lets just say if google would I allow me to give negative number of starts they would get -1.

Probably the worst gym! I actually been to different LA Fitness in NJ and this one is by far the worst one, but I must say the new Randolph comes in at the 2nd worst! The staff are rude and they dont do their job. What happen to customer service or clean bathrooms? Wayne is over crowded and you have to wait to use a machine, but what will make you hate this place is how the staff is very unfriendly and only there for commission! They dont smile and they seem like they hate their job. Now I do like "Parsippanys LA Fitness", they have friendly staff and clean atmosphere but they do need a remodeling. Go to Wayne and then go to Parsippany and you will see the difference!. I will continue to got to parsippany even though they are further from where I live. I just feel comfortable with the staff that is there to help you and understand that not everything is about making money and over charging you!. Wayne LA Fitness has the worst Sales STAFF and trainers!

I was in a car accident about a year ago. I loved going to the gym to help with my rehab. I was asked by my Dr. to stop the gym for a few months to help me heal. I called L.A. Fitness and they were so nice about freezing my account. Except they never froze it. When i brought this to there attention they told me well since we can not see it in the system we cant help you. Thats customer service for you. I told them well make this my last month and the girl was like no problem come in and sign papers that is the only way you can cancel. Wow so you basically steal my money for months then will not even cancel my membership. I will make sure to sign up for a gym that actually cares about members shame on you L.A. Fitness.

None of the amenities offered at most all gyms such as treadmills with headphone jack so you can watch, listen and switch tv channels, air circulating fans (gets really hot in there) or more diverse brands of equipment. Watch out for theft in gym. Ive had valuables ripped off after just turning my head for a moment. The equipment is broken frequently and the place as a whole is dilapidated. It sorely needs a makeover and a refresh of equipment which must be way over a couple of decades old. The membership is high considering the above. On the plus side, its open later than a lot of other gyms so for those who work late, this is good.

I have been coming to this gym on and off for the past four years. Through out that time I have seen management turn over twice, and more recently for the better. For a while, the place was a mess with weights scattered everywhere, the pool disgusting, and the locker rooms in desperate need of real cleaning. More recently since an apparent change in management, I am always greeted at the front desk by friendly staff, and the gym is clean, neat, tidy, and the pool is clean as well. Not the newest, nicest LA Fitness Ive been to, but definitely far from the worst.
