Great place. Friendly atmosphere, professional staff, and all the equipment necessary for a complete work out. Ive used the fancy gyms in Poughkeepsie, Highland and Kingston, but this one is near my home and I dont like country club environments or sketchy shower/lockers other gyms provide. While it may be smaller, I never wait for equipment. While working out here I see those who want to get in shape and those in great shape working side by side in comfort. If you take fitness seriously, as I do, or even if you just want to try, it will be a perfect fit. Join the other gyms if you want sex in the steam rooms/showers, tanning beds (ugh-no place in health realm) or exotic juice bars.

I was with this gym for about two years. It is clean, comfortable and has friendly staff. I moved out of the area and forgot to cancel my membership. I called the gym, let them know when I moved out of the area and they cancelled it right over the phone. They didnt eventry to charge me for the months I wasnt in New Paltz anymore. They are customer oriented and I had a great experice at this gym.

Old equipment, out of shape, useless staff, lots of SUNY students and old people. Membership is expensive for what you get. I stayed a year because I paid for it, but had absolutely no inclination to pay for another one. Its a real shame since the location has lots of potential, but the owner wont invest in it. Mike Arteagas on 299 is much better.

Ignite Fitness is a gem of a small town gym! Great staff, friendly atmosphere, good group fitness classes, good availability on cardio equipment, and affordable rates. I made the switch from the gym in Highland and am SO happy I did it.

This place is a dump. The equipment is old and poorly maintained, and the place just looks dirty and tired. Surprisingly, its expensive, much more than Allsport which is clean, and bright and has much better equipment.

this gym has changed for the better over the past 10yrs. The staff are really nice & are responsive. Caters to serious lifters with a separate space. Diverse classes are a plus.

Its got everything you need and is conveniently located in town. It could use some new equipment though.

There are limited choices for gyms in New Paltz, so suck it up...
