Now Im not one to post reviews, but I feel like I have to. There are way too many inadequate reviews on Google in general in which people say "OMG this is the best!!! Go here!", failing to articulate their experience. So Im going to keep it real, lets jump into it. Ive been looking for a salon to dye my hair and on September 1, 2016 I googled best salons in the bronx and Guys and Dolls came up. Its rated 4.8 by Google so I decided to give it a try, I first called and inquired about dying the top of my Mohawk white platinum blonde. Now I understand that isnt an easy dye even for the top salons in New York. The lady on the phone said because my hair is naturally black it would be impossible to do it. The next day I had a change of mind and wanted brown hair instead so I figured since itd be easier, why not ask if shed be able to do that color. So I called again and asked if she could do it for me, she once again said itd be impossible because of my natural hair color, but this time she seemed irritated. Now, heres what I dont understand, they say this is the best salon in The Bronx but yet a task such as dying my hair brown is impossible? When other salons such as Shampoo Avenue B and Grape and Grey said theyd be able to do it? When literally every other guy has his Mohawk dyed (i.e Odell Beckham Jr). It just baffles me such a high rated salon cant meet that demand, or at least thats what they say. Then I asked her could I get a mens haircut and she said no one was available. Im a college student who works as well, most of my time is spent studying, at the gym late at night, school or working so its not like I can just "make an appointment", I run a very tight schedule. I was asking her about the available hours and she said to come in on Tuesday and asked for my name to schedule an appointment, I told her I was just wondering because I might go somewhere else (If I didnt have time and needed a quick shave around my block).Her response was "Just go to a different location" with an attitude. Yeah, so much for that...had she said it any different her friendly customer service wouldve been something to admire and I wouldve said "Hey you know what, Im busy, but Ill make whatever time just to be your client." All in all, I do believe you should try this place, they say its the best in The Bronx and maybe it is. Just because it didnt work out for me doesnt mean it wont work for you; you gotta try it. Given the 4.8 rating it has, odds are youre experience will be great. Or, youll just be an anomaly, like myself, and catch a bad experience.

I love this salon! Every time Im here I never want to leave because of how cozy and clean the salon is and how energized the staff are, most importantly professional. First off, they answer all of your questions when asked and they are very educated about hair. its nice to hear that they go to hair shows because that shows they are always eager to learn more and help educate me about how my hair integrity is and all that other cool hair conditioning stuff. I trust and go to either Ina or Nicole. I first went to Ina and I loved her attitude, she was down to earth and loved the new hair ideas I wanted to do, she also colored my hair without causing any damage! Nicole always takes her time with me and she always checks up on me while Im in the salon which is awesome, who wouldnt want to be acknowledged?! She explained to me the steps towards achieving the hair color I want and she also did not cause any damage to my hair (which was box dyed) OVERALL, all of these woman are extremely talented and amazing at what they do! Please check them out!

Ok you asked for it! Im not a satisfied client. When I became a client about 6 yrs. ago Nicole gladly cut & colored my hair. But as soon as I stopped coloring it and just needed a trim she would pawn me off to another stylist. Apparently Nicole got too big for her britches and since she didnt see me as a lucrative customer she had all kinds of excuses when I would go in thinking I had an appointment with her. I was always a very good tipper but I also think she preferred the younger clientele, which was almost all of her customers. When I complained about a lousy haircut I got one day the grouchy owner Tara, tried to intimidate me in front of all the stylists and other customers! That did it, I decided I had had enough and am very happy where I go now, and they seem happy to have my business!

The Highlights: -They actually give you the haircut that YOU want. -They TEACH you how to style it. -They REMEMBER and refer to you by your name. -Everyone including the guests compliment, encourage and support each others new look throughout your stay. Its a fun place to get your hair done and you feel like your hanging out with all of your friends. Great place - I would most definitely return. In fact - I cant wait!

I have been going to Guys & Dolls Salon for almost 2 years, its at a great location on Tremont and Lafayette Avenues in the Throggs Neck area. The amtosphere is very pleasant, the decor is extraordinary and very stylish, all the hair consultants are great and very professional. My Consultant is great, I love the way she explains the process when working on my hair and of course, I am always satisfied with the results and I feel like a new woman when I leave the salon. High recommended, you will not be disappointed.

Guys & Dolls is a great salon. Everyone there is so friendly and professional. My hair was in bad shape, and Nicole was the perfect stylist for me. She listened to what I wanted, and I left there feeling fabulous. I would recommend this salon to everyone. They definitely made me loyal customer. Cant wait to go back and have Nicole color and highlight my hair, which is my next step, now that I have an awesome cut and style !!!!! 5 STARS !!!!!!

This hair salon is the best in the Bronx ( IMO). I have been going to guys n dolls for years and I have never left there unhappy or disappointed, my hair always looks fabulous. As far as the staff there goes, they are all wonderful and very knowledgable and informative as far as color or what hair style would work best for you. You should check guys and dolls out, Im sure youll be glad you did, actually I know youll be glad you did.

I love getting my hair done at guys n dolls, every time I leave there my hair always looks so beautiful. The staff there are exceptional and wonderful people. When Im there I always have a wonderful experience thats why Ive been going to guys and dolls for many many years. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. If you never gone to this salon you should, you wont be disappointed .
