I love this gym! Its always clean, and staff is really friendly. Ive read reviews for other gyms in the area, and apparently there is some level of prestige to belonging to some of the more expensive clubs in the area, really? Its a gym, not a dance club. You go there to work out. The members I encounter are no different than I have seen elsewhere, everyone just does their own thing, and they run the gamut of fitness levels. The gym offers training (to what extent I am unsure, as I make my own workouts), unlimited tanning, half price drinks, access to all locations, free guest passes, and occasionally bagels and pizza, with black card membership ($20 a month plus some yearly fee), and all that youd need to get in shape. I would say that if you are a professional bodybuilder, they probably dont have the equipment you want, like a large area for free squats /cleans /deadlifts. I also am confident they dont offer classes, but again, coaching is available. But all the essentials are there, and a lot of cardio equipment. I rarely have to wait for any machine or space for free weights, even during peak hours. I would like to see a larger stretching/ab area (though again its rarely full), more space for free weights (this is my staple, but again, rarely have to wait for space), and thats about it. I used to live in Gates, and frequently drove to Greece, so the Black Card was the obvious choice. I have since moved to Spencerport, and considered switching to a closer gym, but I dont think I will because this place has everything I need, the price really is great, and Ive just finished reading a fair amount of horror stories about some other places nearby. Again, I strongly recommend this gym for 95% of people, and say Howdy if you see me there.

I moved out of Rochester to Canandaigua over a year and a half now, havent used the facility for about 3 months before that (nor the one in Victor as is far anyways), no charges to my account for that long (confirmed by ESL), then I got 2 charges within the last 3 weeks, both occasions my account was overdrawn and was subject to overdraft fee of $37 each time (this last one was reimbursed as a courtesy by ESL but still left me on -$18 and change until payday, which for a hard working single mom with no child support is a lot!!); called Planet Fitness and a nice young lady named Samantha proceeded to ask me if I cancelled the subscription, which I didnt, and I understand is on the fine print.... But I havent used your facility in almost 2 years, havent been charged for that long (she told me I was but I told her 1st, I check my account every other day and theres no charges, 2nd, I called ESL right after I talked to her and they confirmed there hasnt been any charges from them on that time frame, until the 2 charges within the last 3 weeks), what makes you think is ok to charge me now... for what?? I already requested them for a full refund of both charges, plus the 1st overdraft charge of $37 as ESL already reimbursed me for the one today, still waiting for a call back. Compared with the Dewey Ave Planet Fitness in Greece, this place is bigger, and they have a few big fans on the ceiling. They even have one barbell station with free weights instead of only Smith machines and those tiny barbell sets that go up to 60ibs. Even though this gym may be seen as better than other gyms in the area, I personally take the extra 5 minute drive to the Greece PF. The staff are more laid back and it always seems less busy than Gates. Whats the point of going to a nice gym for a cheap price if you cant find a bench that isnt taken and even when you get one, youre uncomfortably close to the people next to you. I do believe Planet Fitness is the way to go, its just about settling on the right one, check them both out

perfect gym for a 20-30 something with no kids who just wants to keep fit. Yeah the weights dont go up too high, theres no pool, sauna yoga, or aerobics classes - but if you are going for some cardio and moderate weights, its perfect. Machines get fixed in days and everything is clean and top of the line. The best membership here is the base membership price for LA. Thats a no brainer. Staff has always been nice with me. You do run into teens and idiots who sit on the machines and talk/text for 10 minutes but if you find the best times to go you can avoid that. Its never too cramped either. just a regular gym with no bells and whistles, worth the $30 a month for the black membership imo.

Definitely a great place to workout. More of a place for those who arent overly serious about it. Cant be too loud or grunt if youre trying to max out and hit new PRs but thats okay because its a good price and everything is clean. Do yourself a favor though and purchase a lock if you wanna use a locker. I put a little too much trust in the people who go here and had my keys stolen right out of my locker recently... Ive been putting my keys in a locker for a year and then finally someone took them... the front desk didnt seem too interested in helping.

Love how they do not tell you the yearly membership is due and they just take it out of your account. I gave my son a membership as a Christmas gift. All of a sudden my monthly charge is higher than normal and its June. According to them I signed an agreement which was 2 years ago and they assume I know its due. Assume I know? Really? Sorry I ever bought him a membership there. There is nothing even there to work out on. Treadmill or bike. Thats your choices. So since I cant get my money back you can take the money and shove it up your @@#$%%$%^&&.

When I 1st became a member two years ago everything worked. Now the remotes on treadmills are broken, tvs dont work, parts are always on order. Also no one is actually managing, people are just standing around machines talking and chatting and not actually using the equipment, planet fitness staff should make sure that people are actually using the equipment. Its been this way for several months with no indication GOOD change is on the way, I may need to find another gym.

I switched from the Greece gym awhile back,and I couldnt be happier. Every interaction I have there is friendly and helpful. Every employee in there is knowledgeable. I want to give special props to the manager Samantha. When I needed help with a printout of my visits to get a reimbursement from my insurance compqny, she was very helpful. I couldnt ask for a better start or manager, to be in charge of my gym.

Been to other planet fitness. Wish it had more equipment like the others. Pat is the only kid that ever seems to be working there. Anytime I ask him a question, he doesnt know the answer to anything. He always grabs my keys forcefully and throws then back at me. Poor customer service. Jorge that works on the weekends is great! Nicest guy youll ever meet!
