Avante is the worst hair salon I have ever been to, at any price point level. I have had better experiences at many Mall Salons. At least one can say the hairstylists are nice there. Kayla applied a toner to blonde my hair when I asked to have a double process bleach and tone. Then she left me under the dryer with it burning on my scalp and went to socialize. I had to flag someone down to drag her back to doing her job. I literally had blistering on my scalp the next day. Not to mention, my hair was a bad shade of blonde, that orangey yellowy color. To make matters worse, when I went to settle up, the salon had the nerve to charge me full price nearly 150 dollars with tip. When I objected to how disgusting my hair looked the following day, I was told it was my fault for not communicating with Kayla about it. I was very clear that I wanted a bleach and tone to blondest blonde, not highlights or just toner or orange friggin hair. If you cant deliver this, Avante, tell me and quit trying to make a buck off me. . Excuse me, I should not need a professional translator to speak professional hairstylist to Kayla, if you can even say she is a professional. The second time I went back to have it fixed, I was also charged full price and the stylist Kayla arrived 10 minutes late to the appointment. She attempted to fix it, but it was nothing special, and I was out $300 dollars altogether. Another question, since she burned my cash and scalp the first time, why did the Salon manager put me in her chair again now? A hideous experience overall.

i am a regular at this salon,been coming there for almost 2 years. i get a heavy highlight on my dark blonde hair and Kayla gives me a fabulous razor cut(very sexy and modern, i get complements all the time). i had forgotten their phone number went looking for it on the web and came across all these reviews, most of them were very good but some of them were bad.reading the bad ones were sooo polar opposite to the experiences i have had, i took a closer look at this whole "review" thing. i noticed that avante had considerably more reviews than any other salon which shows that they are popular and a lot of people must frequent this salon. i also think that a lot of these bad reviews were fabricated by a local competitor.it doesnt take rocket science to figure this one out, when screen names and dates match glowing reviews on another salons site. all i know is i always leave avante looking and feeling great, the girls that work there are always friendly and accommodating. i forgot to mention they moved next door to a much bigger space and added some spa services (had a facial and massage for a special birthday treat) which were also great! for people who read these reviews, check it out for yourself, im pretty certain youll be satisfied. and to all of you at avante-with your big new beautiful space, to be growing in this economy, you must be doing something right! good for you!!

Ive been going to Avante for approximately four or five years; specifically to Carrie. Not once have i left the salon even a little disappointed. Carrie is a godsend when it comes to color and all of the other stylists are incredibly talented. Avante is a professional salon with a welcoming atmosphere. The prices are incredibly fair for the service youll receive. Upon arrival, Im always greeted by smiling faces asking me if i would like something to drink or a magazine. The salon staff is always willing to accommodate your needs and although it can sometimes be difficult to get an appointment because of the salons popularity, i find its absolutely worth the wait. The owner of the salon is always there, working side by side with the other stylists, smiling and bringing good energy into the space. I have recommended the salon to all of my friends, family, people new to the area or whenever anyone asks where a good salon is. I have never once had any complaints and everyone Ive recommended Avante to is always ecstatic with their new look whether it be a hair cut, color, pedicure, manicure, waxing, etc. I would absolutely recommend Avante to anyone and everyone that asks. I would give the salon six stars if i could.

My experience with Avante Salon was so awful that I felt the need to warn others out there to stay far far away, despite the fact that I usually NEVER write reviews. Not only did Avante cancel my appointment less than 48 hours before my wedding (even though the appointment was made months in advance and I paid a 50% deposit up front) but the owner herself, Alicia, left a nasty voicemail message abruptly canceling my appointment with no explanation and then wrote a a derogatory remark on my refund deposit slip which I picked up the next day. Mind you, I never spoke to her in person. I didnt know that poor customer service could also include blatantly insulting your customers, which left me in tears the day before my wedding. Unprofessional, rude and downright mean. Girls - if you need a salon for a special occasion - DONT go to Avante and stay FAR AWAY from, Alicia, the ice-queen owner. I wouldnt let them touch my hair if you paid me, let alone depend on them for a special occasion hair-do.

Went for a trim with Kelly, had a fabulous time but more importantly got the BEST haircut!! She said she gave me Victoria Secret SEXY hair! It was awesome! Kelly is a very talented stylist, she knows the latest trends and is on point. Kelly also gave me my first set of highlights. She showed me pics of all the hottest in Hollywood and what trends they were sporting. Honestly my hair looked better than Beyonce when she finished. Looks SO natural, I constanlty get complimetns on the look. Im really not crazy about taking time to tell strangers what I think about anything, but its such a relief as a "thirty-something" year old woman to know that I can finally stop searching for MY VERY OWN HAIR STYLIST!!! Hadnt been to Avante in a while, loved Alicia the owner when I first met her. The salon has clearly grown and has a great modern vibe. I will forever be loyal to Kelly at Avante!

After living in Chicago, San Francisco, L.A., and Manhattan, and never finding a stylist I connected with- I finally met Christine at Avante. I moved here as a weekender 2 years ago and broke up with my Manhattan stylist after one visit with Christine. Her skills, personality and observational ability gives her an edge over any big city stylist I have been to. I get compliments constantly on her work, and have to repeatedly get more cards from her because I run out after a few weeks! Make your appointment early, the word is out- Christine Gagnon is one of the premier stylists in the Hudson Vally/Catskills Region!

Avate is absolute THE BEST! All the service staff are totally professional. The salon is clean and modern; prices are reasonable. I have had haircuts, colors, shellac nails and keratin treatments as well as massage. I have been a customer since the onset and will never leave!!!! I recommend Avante highly and have sent many friends who love it also. Those writing negative reviews must have negative personal feelings! Dont believe them......Alicia, Kelly, Kayla, Carrie, Julia, Susan and Jeannette are the best people around!
