Ardia Morning
What a frustrating experience. I left a steady full time job because I saw that CPS provided a position as a Copywriter that was temp to hire, perfect for what I got a degree in. I went on an interview, provided a resume, cover letter, and writing samples to really sell myself. I was offered the position and was told that I would be reviewed once in 6 weeks and then again in 12 weeks, where there would be a decision to hire me or let me go. Four weeks in I was working my tail off. My supervisor was upping my writing quota and telling me I was exactly where I needed to be. I showed up early, just to be ready to start the day at exactly 8:30. I did not leave until I finished my quota and I even began working through my lunches just to prove how dedicated I was. On a Tuesday I was pulled into my supers office where he again reminded me that I was doing well and he was receiving positive reviews from my superiors who were editing my work. The next day, Wednesday, I received a call from CPS regarding a survey. I took the survey and my only negative comment was that I was confused as to why my W2s were overlooked. Thank God I was provided a one hour lunch break because I had to go back to the CPS agency to fill out necessary paperwork to ensure I received my paycheck on time. That is a valid issue to be upset over and I was simply providing feedback as a coworker I was working with had the same thing happen to her. I just wanted to make sure they were aware and more careful. This is my livelihood were talking about. Anyway, I finished the survey and literally 20 minutes later I received a call. 8 PM at night on a Wednesday I receive a call from my recruiter saying my services were no longer needed and there was no real reason, thats just how production goes. I was told I did not need to report to work the following day. I was so shocked I dont even think I really heard anything after that. Now I had personal belongings at the place I was working at so I text my coworker and asked if she could gather my things and Id meet her after work to pick them up. She said no problem. The next day, which was Thursday, I text her saying I wasnt up to par for going out, I mean I just lost my job after moving into a new place and was seriously stressed and sick to my stomach at the thought. She proceeded to tell me that when she went to gather my things they were gone. My work area had been wiped clean. Now it was only a blanket, dollar store coffee mug and some office supplies, but still MY personal belongings. After speaking with a few people, I realized how unprofessional and sketchy it was to be "let go" on a Wednesday night. So the next day, Friday, I went to the CPS office and asked how I could get my belongings back and maybe speak to my recruiter on what happened and how come. Of course she wasnt available, but the receptionist offered to take down my information. It is now Thursday, a week later, and I still have not heard from my recruiter regarding my belongings. I will never, ever, work with a temp agency again and especially not this one. This is my livelihood. It makes no sense, none at all, how any of this happened. If thats how production works and my assignment was really over, which is hard to believe because I went out for coffee with the CEO of the company and he explained a lot of things that made it sound like temps were used to see if the temp was interested in the position. Not the other way around. But fine, if showing up early, staying until finished, working through my lunch, and always meeting my quota was not what that company was looking for, fine. However, the fact that I was told on a Wednesday night with no notice (yes Im aware of the recruitment agencys policy about discharging you at any time) and now wondering where my things are with no call or explanation is unacceptable. All I can say is stay away.

More like Unprofessionals Incarcerated I have traveled a lot in my life, living in various cities around the country and even around the world. Each time I moved, I always contacted a recruiter to help me find work and each time I made contact, it was only a month later at the most before I found a new job. With that said, Professionals Incorporated is the worst recruiting agency I have ever worked with. There were a few jobs that I applied for, via their website. I was perfectly qualified for those jobs, in fact, I was possibly over qualified! Yet, they completely brushed me off at their offices, acting uninterested and even bored with me. Needless to say, I didnt get the jobs, but when I checked their website again, one month, and even two months later, those jobs were still posted! Actually several jobs on their website have been posted for up to a year and remain unfilled. I could understand if I was not the best candidate for a job and they wanted to give it to somebody else, but to simply not hire anyone for a position and leave it sitting on their website... who knows if those jobs actually exists! On top of that, they NEVER contacted me about any new jobs leads that I qualified for; they expected me to contact them. Isnt that the complete opposite of what good recruiters are supposed to do!? They make their money by finding YOU a job, not the other way around, so why do they just sit in their offices all day doing nothing? I think I caught the secretary shoe shopping online during one of my visits. Anyway, I managed to find my own job this summer, BY MYSELF. No thanks to them at all. I have a suspicion that they either make up jobs to post on their website, or they just give their best jobs to their close friends and relatives. In any case, dont bother. If youre interested in working at a certain company, then its best to just go there and introduce yourself in person and ask about any available job openings. Thats how I got my new job! These guys can go fly a kite, to put it lightly.

I signed up with Cps 2 years ago and it took me 2 weeks to get a job with them after calling almost everyday checking for work(never spoke with my recruiter or got a return phone call) I ended up getting hired at that job and worked at that company until I moved out of the area 6 months ago. I returned back to the Syracuse area 3 months ago and tried getting a job with Cps again. After 3 weeks of getting a run a round I finally spoke with a supervisor who told me I had to go down to their office and update my information. Why couldnt I have been told that sooner?? I went down to their office and spent almost 3 hours down there while my recruiter stood around talking and laughing with other employees there. When I finally spoke with my recruiter she had an attitude as if she had more important things to do and said they didnt really have any work available. Everytime I go on their website I find atleast 4 jobs Im qualified to do but when I call and inquire on them I get told that they arent available. Sounds like false advertisment to me. When you call Cps the receptionist that answers sounds like she has more important things to do then help you out and unless you directly speak with your recruiter right there on the spot you wont ever hear from them as they dont know how to return phone calls. When you speak with your recruiter they act like they dont give a damn about you and get you off the phone as quick as possible.
