Dear Raes Mama, We are sorry you had a less than stellar experience at our salon! Maybe if you had let us know we could have rectified the problem, or at least we would know what to work on! Everyone is entitled to their opinion and you have yours. In a perfect world everyone would be happy with what we do 100 percent of the time, unfortunately it doesnt work that way. As far as being poor quality, we go out of our way and spend money that could be going into our pockets to use top of the line products! We use Wella color and Bumble&bumble exclusively! I think to say that our prices are Manhattan prices is a gross exaggeration! Most people would beg to differ with you! The average price of a haircut in the city is about $80(thats on the cheaper end of the spectrum!) so I think $50 is pretty reasonable. As for the mediocre salons in the area that are affordable, our prices are pretty much neck and neck with theirs, especially when you factor in the products we use! The whole idea of getting something for nothing just because we are not in Manhattan is ridiculous and ignorant! So is thinking you get what you pay for just because the place is city! The only thing that separates Queens from Manhattan is a river! Primp & Tease Salon

In the 7 years that I have lived in New York City I have never had a better haircut than from Primp & Tease. In fact, I happily followed the proprietor from her previous salon to this one--shes that good! My husband and I both get our haircuts from Nycki (one of the owners) but all the girls are great. Ive turned my sister (a VERY picky client) onto this salon and she is now a convert. Ive even sent visiting, out-of-town friends and family to the P&T girls for a quick blowout before a night out on the town and they have always been pleased. I would highly recommend Primp & Tease to anyone. The services they provide are quality and professional, but the atmosphere is casual and friendly. I always have a great time every time I get my haircut. If youre looking for a new salon, Id give this one a try!

I cannot recommend this salon enough! I have been going to Nycki, one of the salons owners, for nearly 5 years, and I wont go anywhere else. She always does an amazing job. My hair is somewhat fine, especially in front, and based on her expertise with color and cutting, for the last few years my hair has looked better than ever. Shes wonderful at listening to what you want and making suggestions that really work. Everyone who works there is lovely -- they always greet you and offer you a warm drink of your choice. Ive sent friends there and they always become permanent clients. The prices are reasonable and they use wonderful products. Even the decor is lovely. Ive lived in NYC for 15 years and this is the best salon Ive been to. Seriously, just go there!

Five stars for Sara Bogarin, the only person who I would let cut my hair ever. Sara has been cutting my hair for almost 9 years now, and consistency with great results. She will keep me going to her for many years to come. I suffered through 2-3 other stylists and unsatisfying results throughout Queens until I let Sara cut my hair, and I was relieved that she knew not only how to interpret my vague ramblings of what I was looking for in a cut, but how to make what I was expecting look even better. Plus, she is as professional as they come, and will always greet you with warmth and a smile. Definitely recommend her and anyone else at this Salon! Theyre all great!

Dear Neighbors - there was a lot of good press about this place, and this service is certainly much needed in LIC.. Possibly certain services are better, but speaking to my particular experience, my cut and highlights were not what i asked for, poor quality, super time-consuming, and WOW, manhattan prices! Very expensive!. Might as well jump on the 7 train and go to the city and get what you pay for.OR get mediocre but affordable at other salons here in the area. Disappointed in LIC

I absolutely love this place....I have been there already 3 or 4 times and I cant say one bad thing about it...Prices are reasonable and the service is fantastic..I go to Sara and she does a great job..The last cut she did for me I got so many compliments especially from men..and if men notice your hair you know you got a GREAT cut...If you dont go your missing out....Try it....You wont be dissappointed...

I can only speak for my wife Lois every summer her hair would frizz up and looked unkept she started going here in Dec. 2012 and says this is the Best Salon she has ever been to no more frizzing up in the summer and she looks fantastic. Thank you Primp & Tease.

Great salon, great cuts, great service all combined with budget friendly prices. Take the 7 train one stop from Grand Central and experience in my opinion, one of the best salons any of the 5 boros has to offer! GREP

Great cut, great service, great price -- lots of compliments as your "do" grows out -- and its is so close to the city you could even go during your lunch hour!
