If you are thinking about signing up for their 2 week "free" trial, think again. I joined Fit Club because of their advertised promotion on their website of a 2 week free trial, with a "no questions asked" money back guarantee when you sign up online. It was not clear what the process was to cancel the membership if you didnt want to continue, so I informed the clerk when I signed up that I wanted to cancel after 2 weeks, as I would not be in town for a while and just wanted to try it out. I went twice during that 2 week period, then never again after that. After my credit card was not reimbursed and charged again for the second month, I contacted Fit Club to see why my membership was not canceled. I requested a refund, which they refused. Additionally, they are telling me I NEED TO GIVE THEM 1 MONTH NOTICE OF CANCELLATION (meaning I will be charged for a third month) or I have to pay an immediate $15 cancellation fee. I reviewed the contract when I signed up and it is RIDDLED with hidden fees. For example, every 2 months they charge you a $20 service fee? I was aware of this before I registered, but was only doing this for the free trial. They are THIEVES IN THE NIGHT trying to milk as much as they can before this spot turns over once again. This company has really disgraceful, unfair business practices and I am reporting them to the Better Business Bureau for false advertising. And as for the gym itself, its sub-par and no where near worth the $35/month (plus whatever fees they tack on). The weight room is small and crowded. I had to avoid hitting a utility pole while benching. And only 3 benches in front of the dumbbells. The amount of people waiting to use the benches made it look like the newest attraction at an amusement park. Literally. When you finally get to use one you have to be conscientious of the lifters around you because they are so bunched together that its quite possible that you (or they) will whack into the whoever is lifting to the right or left. It felt like at a bowling alley when two bowlers step up for their turn at the same time, one person waits while the other steps up for their turn. The same awkwardness too. Go to X-Sport or LA Fitness.

Just signed up so this review may change for better or worse; however the gym is already playing games with the price, which leaves a bad taste after just signing up. I was baited into joining at $30 a month promotion, no contract "$1 to sign up fee" so I sign up after a 3 Day pass and now all of a sudden there is a $3 fee (they named it some other type of fee) to sign up ... already false advertising. THEN as my card is being swiped I was informed at the moment of truth that twice a year there would be a $20 surcharge on the monthly bill for "maintenence dues" ... that wreaks of trying to get one past their members. And btw that equals another $3+ per month so now youre basically at $33 a month they can dress to up however they want but it is a bait/switch move. Furthermore I am alarmed to say that they slap on this "maintenence fee" but dont even provide members with towels. They want to be "as green as possible" ... sorry management over there but being green and still digging your hands in my wallet is a foul move. I went to Crunch in downtown Manhattan for 2 years bUT they only charged one $20 surcharge for mainteenece and they had fresh towels for all and working steamrooms for both male and female lockers to justify. My last big gripe and its a significant one ... wtf gives them the right to charge the same dues for males as females but males are not welcome in their group classes. Females only. Sorry dudes over there but your either Lucille Roberts or youre not. Im a male and I feel I am being cheated. There should at least be a discounted rate for male memberships there bc 1, our dues shouldnt pay for instructors and 2, male locker room doesnt have a steamroom/sauna but the women do. Seriously thinking about canceling me and my wifes membership after 1 month.

I cant say what a disappointment Lucille Roberts/Fit Club is turning out to be. I saw this flyer posted last night while I was in my small group training, that costs me $109.99 for 8 half hour sessions. Now they are advertising 8 half hour sessions for $59.99. Wow way to take care of your loyal customers and trainers. All I hear is prices going up for those of us that have been around since before the switch. And please dont insult my intelligence by trying to say this is not small group training. I have been doing small group for over 5 years religiously paying at times upwards of $200 per month maybe its time me and the other girls I train with take our business elsewhere. I could go to Orangetheory and take 8 one hour sessions per month for $109.99 a month, or unlimited sessions for $130 per month. I also understand Xsport offers a small group style training in hour long sessions for quite a bit less money. This switch over has been a disaster since the beginning, nobody could get the story straight we were told different information practically weekly none of which actually turned out to be true. I must say great business plan, your trying to drum up business for the new trainers that we clearly see sitting around doing nothing by offering reduced rates while charging your loyal current Sgt members almost double the price. Hoping this situation will be addresses before you lose even more members who had been with you for years as Lucille Roberts members.

I love this gym!! The staff are always accommodating, polite and smiling. Its a great atmosphere to work out in. Plus its sooo clean. No matter what time Im there, morning to night I constantly see employees cleaning. Its a gym I will never leave. I was a former LA fitness member and everyone ( levittown, Farmingdale, commack) I went to was dirty. Highly recommended even for new comers that need help working out. All the machines are new and well kept. There is separate sections and plenty of space for everyone. Just incase your one of those people that get embarrassed easily. Hope this helps

The gym it self is Cool, but the girl that works here at Night running around crazy on the phone is very rude and unprofessional. Im on the bench lifting shes trying to put away the weights while in use like who does that? I know you want to get out and go home if your such in a rush work a different shift. Everyone here has attitude problem at 10:45 if you got somewhere to be then dont work nights! I this is not the first time its happened to me but tonight is enough time to look for a new gym with longer hours Cool gym unprofessional employees!!!

Terrible gym. My car along w four other cars were broken into this passed Monday. When telling front desk they responded with "oh again that sucks" today two more cars were broken into. Management refuses to hang a sign in window warning patrons not to leave anything of value in their car and the gym does NOT have cameras in the front parking lot and the one on the side was "unable to see" the other cars who were also broken into. This also happened at 1:30pm. Board daylight. Nassau police and detectives have said its an ongoing problem. Be aware
