I dont usually write reviews but I have to for Longfellows because I really love this place. Every year, for the past 4 years, my wife and I have stayed for the weekend.for our anniversary. Weve made it our annual tradition. We did it again this year for our 20th. Each year we purchase the relax package, which includes one night in the king loft room, dinner at Longfellows Resturant, two half hour messages, and Champange and chocolates in the room. You only pay separately for drinks, tips, and taxes. We also stay one regular nigh to make it a whole weekend. The relax package, I think costs about $350 per night. Its an amazing deal. You get a lot for your money. The king loft room is really sweet. It feels more like a super cool apartment with a jacuzzi tub than a hotel room. The Resturant is unbelievable. Its top notch, with high quality food, huge portions and wonderful, professional, courteous service. The staff in the hotel and the Resturant are really sweet people and they do a wonderful job. Everyone Ive talked to here over the years, always say the same thing "I love my job. I love working here. The management is great" and so on. The staff is real happy and it shows, everywhere in everything about this place. Ive never had a bad experience of any kind here. Its absolutely reliably wonderful so I will keep coming back. The two half hour messages we get are also really awesome and help make the whole experience even more relaxing and enjoyable. Longfellows is a great place in a great town. Its right near Saratoga lake. Its a 2 minute drive to down town, but it has a very rural, woodsie kinda feel to it. Rustic yet classy and high end at the same time. On the regular night stay we get, usually Friday night, we go to eat dinner at the olde Bryan Inn Resturant in town. Its owned by the same people who own Longfellows so you can get 10% off your bill if you show them your room key. Its only about a 10 minute drive from the hotel and they will even drop you off and pick you up, so you dont have to drive or worry about parking. Plus the Olde Bryan Inn also has outside seating which is beautiful in the summer. The food there is every bit as good as Longfellows and we really love it. I cant say enough good things about both of the restaurants and the hotel. I highly recommend anyone go check them all out. Go for dinner, stay the night, or maybe even attend a wedding. You cant go wrong. Thank you to the owner and all of the wonderful staff who made sure we always have a great time. Thanks again and we will be back next year or sooner if we can.

I would only recommend this hotel to individuals who are looking to over pay for sub-par accommodations. We attended a wedding reception in the “Courtyard” at Longfellows. The reception was lovely and the food fantastic, however, our stay in the hotel was horrific. A number of our friends stayed in the rooms attached to the hotel- the decor is outdated, the rooms are dingy and the bathrooms are old and in need of repair. We stayed in the other building which although much newer, was very poorly constructed. The tiles on the bathroom floor popped under your feet as did the shower stall. The caulk around the bathroom was dirty and peeling, the walls were sticky, and the door to the bathroom hit your knees as you sat on the commode- a very poor design. The air conditioning in the room only had a HI/LO setting consequently, we were either freezing or sweating. Moreover, the floor would have been more comfortable than our King size bed. In fact, my Husband and I had such a poor night’s sleep we got up at 7am and checked out to drive home! To add insult to injury, after the hotel charged our credit card for the full stay at the time of booking (90 days before our stay-an almost $400 charge), then they had the audacity to charge our credit card again upon check-in for any “incidental expenses” which we might incur (as opposed to simply settling your bill at check-out). I wouldn’t stay at Longfellows again if you paid me. Next time, I’ll go down the road to the Marriott.

We booked all our guests at Longfellows for a wedding weekend. I had high expectations based on the tour of the hotel and the coordinator who helped us make plans well in advance of the reservation dates. However, when the time came, we found that guests were not booked for the proper rooms, and some guests did not have rooms booked at all. This created hard feelings between the guests who were already in their rooms and were told by the reservation clerk that they had to move into another room! It seemed that the reservation clerk was the only person who could straighten it out and he was overwhelmed. We were told there was no manager available. We had also made arrangements to provide our own music for Friday night buffet, but the surly bartender insisted that we turn the music off since he was not advised of the arrangement. He was quite nasty to our guests. When we came home, I wrote to management to let them know what had happened so it wouldnt happen to some one else. No response. I wrote again. No response. Bottom line is it looks like a lovely place, but thats just a cover for shoddy customer service.

I am not one that makes reviews but I feel I have to I used to love Longfellows hadnt been there in a year but when I came back the menu was much smaller and not as diverse our waiter seem to rush us with our drinks and appetizers the appetizers came within 10 minutes and then were asking what we wanted for entrées The reason I enjoyed Longfellow so much is that you could sit back and relax and have time to enjoy the atmosphere tranquilize my wife ordered three different drinks return the first one but didnt want to raise a stink and I ended up drinking the other two that were definitely not good The food was not as "satisfying " that they had the last time I was there and again felt rushed by our waiter when they put down our bill before we were done with our desserts I hate it when a successful business messes with what works for them oh and by the way this was a Monday night and it was not busy at all

My wife and I just finished dining here. The service was very good, however I am not really satisfied with the whole experience. The first glass of wine I ordered had lipstick on the side. The waiter apologized and brought me another. The replacement was fine, however when I ordered another it too came with a much smaller but still there imprint of lipstick. This time I just ignored it. Also my blue cheese dressing on the side came with two submerged carrot shreds inside. As for the mains my sea bass was good but unfortunately they pan seared it with the skin on so all that flavor went to waste. It came on served on top of Asian lo mein but instead of lo mein it was spaghetti. Disappointing. My wife really likes her stuffed chicken dish, she thought that the potatoes were delicious.
