Blue Velvet is a professional, clean, well equipped salon. Monica and Donna, the owners, are the best you can find in the business. They are extremely knowledgeable with the latest procedures and use the best products on the market. I am highly sensitive and have absolutely no reaction to any of the products they use. Ive even gotten waxing done and had no reaction. I went through a series of mico-currents and see visible results. Ive gotten their signature facial which is outstanding as well as their peels. I recently tried the pumpkin peel and i love it. Whatever procedure you perform at this salon, you will see visible results. They are experts in the skin care industry. Jeanine is one of the hair stylists @ Blue Velvet. During the summer I got a keratin treatment and lost no hair (you hear horror stories about that) and it worked! No frizz ! I also got my haircut and color. For the first time, I walked out of a salon and loved it. Shes also fantastic. I really cant say enough about this place. They wont sell you what you dont need. Youre not pressured to do anything you dont want to. In fact, theyve talked me out of some things I wanted to try. They care about your skin, hair and mostly their clients. I love this place. I think its the best on the Island and I would never go anywhere else.

Blue Velvet is an amazing salon. The environment is impeccably clean and inviting. As soon as you walk in, youre offered coffee, water, cappuccino, and invited to wait on their couches. They keep their appointments on time, and they call to confirm. Ive gotten my hair done twice there, and they always do a beautiful job. The last time I went, I needed emergency make-up done and they accommodated me with no problem. Above all, even with the last-second notice, my hair and make-up was beautiful! Blue Velvet is now my salon of choice and I would not go anywhere else.

I have been a customer of Monicas for at least 3 years...I used to patronize that "other" waxing place...you know, the franchise type place? Yes, they were clean and yes, the prices were commensurate. The differences are 1) Monica uses different waxes for different areas/skin types; 2) Monica is very, very gentle, and 3) Monica is a wonderful, friendly, professional aesthetician. I cannot say enough about how highly I recommend this establishment. I now bring my 13 year old daughter there for waxing, also. I wouldnt trust her to anyone else!!!

Treated like a queen! Called in a last minute appointment (first time there and had not been to a salon in 17+ years) for balayage. The decor is clean and comfortable. Jessica is AWESOME. She made great recommendations and even gave me tips as to how to maintain my hair til my next trip! Not once did i feel pressured or uncomfortable. Everyone was suuuper nice! Prices are based on consultation and are a bit on the higher end but 100% worth every penny! You get what you pay for!

I had great experience at the Blue Velvet spa. I have been to this spa twice - I had organic facial. I loved it! The spa is very clean, ladies who work there are professional and the organic products they use are phenomenal. I have been to different spas in the city and I would say that it is a high end spa with competitive prices. I have bought a gift certificate for my Mom as well and we will continue using their services.

One of my best spa experience ever. I will not go anywhere except Blue Velvet. I had my facial and waxing done by Monica. She is great. Very professional. Has deep knowledge about both. Facial was very relaxing and waxing was painless. Very clean and lively atmosphere. Dana who is the other owner is very friendly and warm. Highly recommend this place to everyone.

I just have to say when I leave there my hair feels alive. I feel beautiful every time I get my hair done for a night out or just to have a great hair day. The service is excellent. I am always asked if I need anything and never have to wait for my scheduled appointment.. The ladies at Blue Velvet are lovely.
