Ive been going to barbershops for around 30 years now all over Durham and Raleigh. Typically, when I visit barbershops, I leave feeling like I overpaid, and was helped to see how fast they could get me in and out. At the guys place, the prices are lower than they should be probably. I stopped in on a Wednesday and asked to trim up the sides around my ears and neck,.... And to leave a little hair up top because my wife likes me with longer hair. I also asked for a beard trim. Well, I got exactly what I asked for and it was only $18... This included a shampoo and conditioner wash and a shoulder/back massage. This is unheard of from what Im accustom to. Usually I pay out around $20-$25 for a 5 minute cut on average. I left and gave the girl a $4 tip. This left me with $22 for the whole entire visit. After I arrived home, showered, and showed my wife... I realized I forgot to ask the lady to blend the area between the long hair up top and my sides where it was shorter. Friday I usually have off so I went back to fix the problem. I was greeted and seated in Colleens booth almost immediately. Colleen(Co-manager) blended me right up, as well as shampooed and conditioned my hair again and topped me off with another shoulder/back massage. All for NO CHARGE... Anywhere else in the the area, Id have had to pay again. I was so impressed by the professionalism that was displayed... I made an appointment for my next visit with "Colleen Murray Hogan" and left her around a $9 tip. Ive never left this amount. I will continue to go get my hair cut here in the future at The Guys Place by Colleen in the future, and highly recommend her to anyone in need of a haircut. Added bonus: they serve peanuts in the waiting area and have TVs at every booth. Plus Colleen is hot! Dont waste your time or money on another haircut at Sportsclips or Greatclips. Theres really no comparison.

The owners response below this is a lie. I went there, I got laughed at by a real barber shop as they fixed the disaster your lady did. Either youve come under new management since January 2016 or Im talking about you buddy. Original review: I got a haircut here a year ago, but forgot to review it. Im just not noticing they have 4.2 stars. Maybe theyve improved - heres my experience: this is NOT I repeat NOT a barber shop. This is a great clips with leather chairs. I stopped in for this deal, like $8 haircut including a "massage." Sounds too good to be true and was. The woman cutting my hair clearly does not know or care about mens hair. I gave her the same simple but vague instructions Ive given in cities all over the world, deferring to their interpretation and always being happy. Not only did she not understand "short on the sides longer on the top" at all, even after explaining it over and over but she left my hair butchered and completely uneven on all sides. I had to go to another barber shop a couple weeks later and got laughed at, and was shown to the newest barber there as a training exercise on a haircut gone terribly wrong. She also did not want to make conversation or try to be friendly or talkative - which is kind of part of the job. The massage was the most awkward experience of my life - she pulled out a little cheap plastic vibrating thing and just beat me in the back with it for five minutes. I had to stop her, though the look of pure dread in her eyes proved neither one of us wanted this part or enjoyed it. Pay a little more for a real barber is the lesson. I will be more careful in vetting those who touch my hair in the future.

I cannot speak to the quality of the haircuts, but I can say that they offer a great service allowing you to waste between thirty to forty-five minutes of your lunch break. All you have to do is call in ahead of time and make an appointment. Theyll take the appointment, and the fun begins! Arrive early and make sure to sign in. As you sit in their nearly-empty waiting area, theyll look up, whisper some sounds to the only other person sitting in there. If he is not you, then you become eligible for their waste-of-break services. Just wait thirty more minutes, then ask about why you havent been seated, and youre all set! Theyll inform you that they skipped you because the stylist was pretty sure that her garbled, whispered, mispronunciation of your name (maybe Im Tony? Lonny?) was a good substitute for a haircut. As a complimentary bonus, you get to go back to your job without all the trouble of a colder head, exposed ears, or reduced weight. 10/10 - Would sit patiently awaiting a chance to hear a stylist make excuses to another stylist behind a cubicle wall again.

Place is a joke, jazzed up with individual hair cutting booths, but its nothing more than a typical barber. Made an appointment and was 5 minutes late so they couldnt work with me just threw me to the back of the line, oh but that was after having me wait 15 minutes just to tell me I had to wait an hour. Not worth it to go to a place that treats new customers like crap. Update: Im not upset that I was late or that you decided to push my spot back, it was having me wait 15 minutes to tell me, and then to respond with a lecture on timeliness is hypocritical. If I was informed when I checked in then I wouldnt have cared, or taken to writing reviews online about you. Its your business, run it how you want, but dont get your panties in a bunch when someone comments that they didnt like how they were treated at your shop, in fact, if handled correctly I would probably have rescheduled and become a good customer, but instead, Ill take my business elsewhere.

just moved to the raleigh area and was looking for a good barber. thought this one would be good. NEVER GOING BACK!! it started from when i walked in the door and all the barbers are sitting around the waiting area with no place for the customers to sit. once im brought to Brookes station she faced me away from the mirror (a big no-no) and i asked for a scissor top and skin fade the sides. what it looks like i got was a 3 guard all around and an attempt at a taper. clearly they do not know how to cut hair because i asked for a fairly basic cut. the price was OKAY at $14 but the cut i got wasnt even worth half of that. i would go back and ask them to fix it but its so bad that im afraid at what the end result would look like so i just buzzed it. SERIOUSLY THE WORST CUT I HAVE EVER GOTTEN. now im a nice guy so when she asked how it was i just smiled and waved and left a tip then drove home and shaved it off.

I received the worst hair cut, I called prior asking if the did hard parts, the women I spoke to said they did. After sitting in the chair the gentleman started cutting my hair he took the clippers and dug them into my scalp. After sitting through the man handling the gentleman started to look at my hard part, I pulled my hair to the side so he could see the line that was already there, he then proceeded to make a separate hard part. When he was done I looked at it I had a y in my hair from the precious hard part and the one he did. He then called over another stylist and she proceeded to make the hard part thicker. When she did this she made the part uneven. I would not recommend this place to anyone, the only thing the guy offered was 4 dollars off not even a apology and then the women came who attempted to fix my hair gave me her business cards.
