I needed someone to check out the hybrid battery on my 2004 Prius since its 13 years old and has been acting weird. Simon responded to my web inquiry within hours and explained that they test Prius batteries FOR FREE and it would take about a half hour. They got me scheduled at a time that worked for me and I drove the 30 minutes from Durham to their location. The waiting room is clean and they have free wifi, which let me work while I waited. Simon went over the printout of the battery test, explained what it all meant, and said it looked good. He also explained the different repair/replacement options for whenever the battery does start to go. He did point out that the auxiliary battery might be dying and the performance issues Ive been experiencing could be due to a needed tune-up. He gave me the prices of those two services and let me leave without any pressure to do any work that day...or ever. Im scheduled to go back for the tune-up next week. Meanwhile, the 2 other shops I contacted via web still havent responded...

Proud to wear the tee - it actually means something - QUALITY. Torque Automotive is a class place to have my car maintained. I appreciate the attention to detail to the technicalities as well as the custom focus and "easy to understand" interaction that Simon provides in discussing all available options. I didnt really need the several upgrades to my 06 mini, but Im really glad that I did - this car is way more fun to drive than before and it was not that bad before. Torque Automotive installed a new clutch, a 5% pulley reduction, an enhanced Cold Air Intake, and new spark plugs that accommodate the added heat,. Several other repairs were made since the front end was disassembled and the parts were inexpensive (but costly if the car was not already disassembled). These repairs added years of enjoyment to my 06 Cooper S and I am really enjoying the speed and quickness upgrades. Torque Automotive is the real deal - an certified alternative to dealer services for most Euro cars. John Cash

Had my first visit to Torque Automotive yesterday, and the service was outstanding! They have great expertise and experience with European makes, including my BMW. Most importantly, Simon was phenomenally honest in making me aware of things that my car might need soon, but that did not absolutely have to be done right now, which kept the bill very reasonable. I am an avid autocrosser and also take my car to race tracks a few times each year, so I am a very demanding customer in terms of wanting things to be "just so." And Simon has one of the VERY few shops that caters to people like me, as well as to the typical driver. He is incredibly flexible in giving me advice and opinions, but ultimately willing to do whatever I want with my car, in terms of my choice of parts, setup, etc. The shop is extremely clean with a nice waiting area, complimentary coffee, wi-fi, etc. I cant recommend Torque highly enough!

This place is cutting edge and reasonably priced. Shop is top notch from the waiting area to the impeccably clean and well equipped service areas. Simon is knowledgeable and helpful and it is obvious that quality work is his priority. Service was fast also. I have a Lexus, a BMW Z3 and a Toyota and would not take them anywhere else. I had previously had my Toyota serviced at a quick oil change place and they had tightened the oil filter too much and it required extra work to change out this time. Thankfully the guys at Torque took care of it for me (as well as my breaks, rotors and other maintenance work). I learned my lesson and wont go through a quick service shop again. Simon has worked on my other cars at a previous place of business and quality of service has always been evident. Go and check out his new shop!!

I just got to visit the new shop and it is incredible! Simon has been my mechanic for over a year and if you know Audis you know that once they start to age you start to fix everything lol! I had a previous mechanic who specialized in German imports that I felt was not getting the job done so I started looking for a new mechanic who specialized in German imports and thats when I found Simon. I couldnt imagine anyone else working on my car now because every time I bring it in I feel like my car is brand new again! The level of service, the details, the friendliness, the turnaround, the quality of his work and the price you get for all of this is absolutely the best! I highly recommend him for the best service in Raleigh for European cars!

Torque, run by Peter, is the mechanic youre looking for. I had a very old Prius with what I thought was a bad battery. He went over it, did everything possible to get me back on the road. He knows the hybrid system and the batteries in and out. And it worked - we got the battery up and going, but then it turned out the engine was bad. He took a deep look at it - far, far below the rate the dealer wanted - and when he realized it was shot, let me know id be paying more than the car was worth, and didnt charge me an extra dime past his work. So when i went looking for a local car dealer, I found a car I like and, unprompted, the dealer said he has Torque do all the checks and maintainence on the cars he sells. Felt great about that.

Torque is the best. I recently bought a used 2010 Audi A3 and it was hesitating off the line.Im pretty savvy with cars so I decided to self-diagnose my issue along with help from Master mechanic Google.lol So in all the car forums they have stated that this hesitation was normal operation for the A3s and I was ready to accept defeat but my wife convinced me to take to a professional. When I bought it to Torque. I just asked for a pre purchase inspection but they went the extra mile and found loose flux capacitor on the hyper link and fixed the hesitation.Just joking about the fix but these guys spot on to rectify the issue. Now my baby has a new primary care physician. Dr Torque

I took my 2013 VW Jetta to the new Torque Automotive this week and was really impressed with the level of service I received. Simon really goes above and beyond to make the experience as pleasant as possible. He is very knowledgeable and personable. The new shop is spotless. The reception area and customer lounge were comfortable and first class. He mentioned that he is aiming to set new standards for the auto repair industry and this new shop really shows that! The services were performed as discussed and without any unnecessary "upselling". Prices were very reasonable too. Much cheaper than the dealer. Looks like Torque Automotive has a new customer for life!

Simon just knows cars! He has been my mechanic the entire time I have lived in Raleigh and I have always been incredibly satisfied with the work he has put into my car.
