I lost my only key to a 2006 Mazda 3. I called Make A Key and they had some one at my house in about an hour. The technician was professional and pleasant to deal with. He made and programmed 2 keys for me in about 30 minutes. I checked both keys against the door logs and ignition and they worked fine. He also mentioned that he had left the original keys programmed in the computer when he added the 2 new keys. That way if I ever found my lost key, I would still be able to use it. The only very minor "negatives" about the experience were: 1. They said I would get a call before the technician arrived but I did not. This may have been because the person I spoke to on the phone was not able to directly speak to the scheduler while I was on the phone and she was the person who said I would get a warning call. 2. Both keys worked fine, but the cut edges were sharper and thus went into the lock rougher than my original key which I had used for 10 years. I am guessing the new keys will get smother as they wear from use. I would recommend using Make A Key to my friends. While calling around for quotes, I called 2 other places that also had good reviews and a good Better Business record like Make A Key does. One place sounded good, but was significantly more expensive than Make A Key for the second key. The other place never responded to my phone mail requesting a quote.

I recently purchased a previously owned truck that only came with one key. I was told that I should give these guys a call and I am really glad that I did. The dealership would have cost me at least twice as much for extra keys. They also discovered while programming the keys that the original 2007 battery was going bad and had jumper cables and a vehicle at the ready to make sure my vehicle would start when they were done. I greatly appreciate finding out that I needed a new battery before coming out on a cold morning stuck in my driveway. While waiting I purchased several other key related items, and ordered some locks that were not in stock...the locks were available for pick up the next day. After seeing the report on WRAL about the shady locksmiths that drill and replace then overcharge for replacement of locks, I am happy to see the service and attention to detail that Make A Key has to making sure its right and taking care of their customer. I will be back in the future. Thank you!

I just had a key made and when I made the appointment they told me it would be $150. But once the guy came to my house he said "Oh its plus tax. Its $160.13. I was going to give the 3stars because the guy did the work. When I called management to say maybe you all should say plus tax because I went to the bank and got the total that I was told. She was very rude and friendly. She talked over me and told everyone charges taxes even for labor. I explained to her that I have been in business for 10 years and have never charged my parents labor (child care). Then she started comparing them to Walmart. Why I dont understand because I didnt call walmart and make an appointment... I only called them because they were referred. By never again will I use them. After speaking to her. I would like to give 0 stars but I have to give atleast 1. Yall need better customer service or new staff!!!

This place was amazing!! Customer service was exceptional! They took the time to explain what would need And why and also provided several different options for me! They were able to fix me up quickly with replacement and spare! Ive seen some bad reviews about price ... But they are much much much cheaper than the dealership and way cheaper than other local locksmiths. Plus, the service was unbeatable in a world where most place treat you like an assembly line number, get them in and get them out. But not this place! Special thanks to Benny and Christy for making my situation an easy and wonderful experience!!

I drove over an hour to go to this locksmith. I called ahead of time to price a new electronic key for my car. I had bought a car fob online. The owner said it would cost me $45 if I used my own fob or bought hers because she couldnt guarantee that my fob would work. I decided to buy hers since it would be the same price. When I got there, After I waited 30 mins, I was told it would be $160!!!! Their response to my complaint about the difference in price and the misinformation was, "you dont have to buy the key if you dont want it!" Completely unsatisfied!!!

This place is horrible. Sure, they could come out and fix my broken key, but they wanted to charge me $185 for a new replacement key. Keep in mind this key was a just a regular key, no electronic functions, basically a regular house key. I talked with the receptionist about this how the price is a little high and explained that Lowes or Home Depot could make a key for a few bucks and she said, "why dont you go there you broke ass". Very unprofessional, this place definitely lost my business.

These guys are great!! They and always going above and beyond to get you the key that you need. I have been there on several occasions and they are always very quick, professional, and reasonably priced. If they dont have your vehicles key in stock, they can get it in as little as 12 hours!! This is my go to place to get a replacement or duplicate key fob for my vehicle and I will not go anywhere else! They even give you snacks while you wait for them to make your key!

Second key made for a recently purchased vehicle. Quick and courteous service. I bought the specialized key blank on-line and they cut and programmed it for just under $50 ($45 + tax). Works like a charm. I would definitely use them again.

:: FAST, HELPFUL, AFFORDABLE :: They quickly opened an old door after loosing key. Timothy was very helpful to unseal the door as it was tightly jammed. And he quickly rekeyed the lock. Ive used Make A Key for years and they are great.
