This place was clean overall and the attendant was extremely friendly and tried to be helpful. Cost is $6.75/load of wash then $0.25/6 min drying time. SPOILER ALERT: By the end I spent about $55 for using their facilities and had over $275 in NEW clothing ruined do to negligence or equipment malfunction with no concern or care on behalf of the establishment. I was really hoping to like this place and give them that money each week for laundry convenience. So on to the ruined clothes. After speaking w/ appliance specialists &other laundromat owners its most likely the machines arent cleaned regularly (the 2 large ones did have that front loader moldy smell) or perhaps the washers arent periodically checked after others use them. Combine that with the fact that there are no instructions on where to place the many products and something bad can happen. Before assuming Im an idiot whose never done laundry keep in mind Im 52" and the machines are taller than me so I had to stand on a shady chair to get an extra 2 feet of height to put my products in the machine. Furthermore, there are 4 separate spots with no labels to place products and the attendants werent sure either. PLEASE know it makes a difference where the items go so its likely most people dont know this and dont care to ask so they pour wherever in any spot. Here is where my new clothes(1st wash for a hoodie and some intimates) in my "light colours" load came out with bleach spots on them. Keep in mind we took NO chlorine bleach with us; even for the white clothes. I calmly spoke with the attendant as it wasnt her fault and I didnt want to come across rudely. She apologized but didnt seem to care and took NO further actions. There needs to be a sign saying wash at your own risk. The next load was done and just the opposite happened with mt pure white load (still no bleach used). A few items came out with brownish coloured markings resembling "rust" stains. After another dousing of Oxyclean and a wash in a different machine there was no difference. Another skirt, linen blend pants and a shirt, two having never been worn, were ruined with no compensation, trade or anything. Accidents happen so I didnt make a scene and hid a few tears of frustration. If you doubt my authenticity please read my other reviews. I do my best not to complain, never ask for free things/compensation and Ive not attacked maliciously. Bottom line...at $6.75/wash load and $0.25/6 min dry time I spent around $50 and left with over $275 in new clothing ruined with no concern from establishment to rectify the situation or and repeat business.

I have to admit that Ive never used a Laundromat, a bit spoiled (best parents). Between taking my laundry home to my parents house for my mom to do (best mom ever) and attempting to do it myself - Ive never needed to. That all changed this weekend when my washing machine mysteriously died. Hence me now needing a laundromat. We had dinner at Wasabi Sushi last night and saw a pretty awesome Laundromat next door that had recently had a renovation, taking over where a previous laundromat was and adding some cool Southern vibe. The washing machines were all brand new, easy to use and I was able to catch up on the Basketball games (Golden State) via the flat screen TVs while my clothes washed. I saw they also have a full service option, where you can drop it off and pay by the pound and they will wash it/fold it for you. Ill definitely be doing that next time, hello lazy! The dry cleaning option they have makes it really easy for those clothes you dont want to put in the regular washing machine. This place encourages me to do laundry more often! Free Wifi so I can work on assignments and superior customer service attendants. Very clean facility, high end machines, awesome hours of operation (Close at 11pm) for those night I can’t sleep because I must complete homework. I am a lucky girl. I chatted with the owner briefly who said that they will eventually start a pick up/drop off service too that will be really convenient, especially for the UNCW students. Im excited to try that out as well. Overall, this place exceeded my expectations of a laundromat. Will I be back? You betcha!

Ms. Becky Simmons, it is unfortunate you felt you needed to bash Atlantic Coast Laundry. This laundromat is always clean and the equipment has never failed me in the past year an a half. The staff is very friendly and assist immediately with any concerns. The washers and dryers are always clean and ready to be used. It sounds like you want to be compensated for something that never happened. Every week when I do my laundry a staff member is always there including the Manager. They even offered to help me carry my clothing in and out when done. Ive been to several other laundromat and never received this kind of service. None of my clothes have been ruin and I have never witnessed any customers complaining of any issues that you stated. They have signs in both English and Spanish on the walls. The same instructions on how to use the machine is also posted around the laundromat. I have used one of the step stools that is provided for the larger machines, which was very helpful. I am not sure why you didnt see them. Ms. Simmons I am not sure what you are talking about, unless confused with another laundromat you were dissatisfied with, but is was "NOT ATLANTIC COAST LAUNDRY"! SHAME ON YOU!!

Im a veteran, retired to the area in 2015. My condo property has a laundry onsite, but we arent able to use it for the next few weeks. Hence my finding Atlantic laundry and Im so happy I did! The folks there are so very helpful and thoughtful. They are happy for the business and it shows. Dominic more than willing to answer all your questions. I have lived all over the US serving in the US Navy and I simply cannot think of a cleaner and more well stocked place than this. They have free Wi-fi for you to use whilst you wait and cable TV to watch also. I do appreciate how clean the business is. The washers are the cleanliest I have ever seen! The restrooms are super clean also and thats something I notice and really appreciate having been a trauma nurse. Friendly, thoughtful and nice people, that care about their customers work here.Ask for Mr. Dominic. Hes just wonderful! Youll love it! Very grateful, W.A. Ward. US Navy ret.
