If I could give 0 stars, I would. My intention with this review is not to be malicious or mean to this business, but to make sure no one else has to go through this on the biggest day of their lives. My bridal party, grandmothers, mothers, and flower girl and I had our hair and makeup done here for my wedding day and it was the worst salon experience of my entire life. They charge and OUTRAGEOUS amount, such as the $90 for my flower girl alone to have her hair "curled" and a few pieces bobby pinned up. We had to re-curl every single persons hair and redo makeup as soon as we left the salon. When one of my bridesmaids politely told the girl AGAIN what it was she was wanting for her hair, the girl stomped away and another stylist had to come fix her hair. The first stylist exclaimed "can we just get our money for this already?!" Oh and, my mother had her face burned right near her eye by a curling iron by one of the "stylists"! We attempted to contact the salon manager who seemed uninterested in many of the issues we presented to her and our conversations ended without a solution to most of the real issues at hand and that was it. It was a nightmare, and I hope no other bride has to have the same experience.

Absolutely love the Groove Jet experience. Theyre patient, calm and very considerate. Also, Ive never been to a salon that gives you free drinks (of your choice). My review isnt about the entire Groove Jet experience however. All I go there for is hair cuts/ coloring. I live in Jacksonville but theyre the best Ive been to, so I dont mind the drive. I usually see Brandi and shes AMAZING. Im quite awkward with small talk but she didnt make be feel that way. Also, I got lost my first time and ended up showing 20 minutes late for my appointment and at closing time. I was sure she was going to reschedule me but she didnt. Brandi took me in and the receptionist (Valerie) stayed until I had completed my hair cut. They were very courteous. Theyre the best when it comes to hair cuts and color. A friend of mine got her nails done and a massage and she didnt really enjoy the massage experience. The only reason Im giving Groove Jet 4 stars is because parking is hard to find, unless you want to pay for indoor parking, and the salon itself is quite small and took me a minute to find.

I use Groove Jet for my regular hair cuts and color and in October they did hair and makeup for myself and my wedding party - what an amazing job by everyone at Groove Jet!! I had more compliments on my hair and makeup than I could have imagined. My hair is very thin and not all that long but Brandy made it look like I had a pile of hair to work with. All of my bridesmaids (short hair and long) loved their looks and they looked great in all of the photos from the wedding. A guest at my wedding even made an appointment with Groove Jet for a special occasion herself after seeing my hair on my big day. The staff at Groove Jet was also awesome as we worked toward the big day with regular emails to keep in touch about exactly what l wanted for my hair and what the girls wanted for theirs. And finally - must mention my regular stylist Nikki - who always does an incredible job with my hair, wouldnt go anywhere else!

When I lived in Wilmington, Groove Jet was a special treat that I saved for a couple times a year. The prices arent in everyones budget but I had such a good experience every time I went that it was worth the splurge. When I started to plan my wedding, I knew I had to have the same treatment and asked them to style me and my wedding party. I had a practice session about a month beforehand and took notes on how what worked about my style and what didnt. When I came back, Brandy remembered just what we planned and made adjustments according to my concerns. She also came up with some lovely styles for my friends that really reflected their personalities. Make-up service, though pricey, is well worth it as well. I had a rough night before the wedding and was not looking my best going in but when I was leaving, I felt ready, beautiful, and much more joyful than before. A+

A funky newer salon near downtown wilmington. The place was clean, modern with products well displayed. Their website is informative and is the reason i booked an appointment. I chose Kathy from the website for my cut and color. She was pleasant, worked quickly and chatted with me, she involved me explaining her work. If you have trouble walking upstairs or use a wheelchair, ask to be serviced downstairs. For a cut and color I paid $110 plus the obligatory $20 tip. I didnt buy product but Kerastase is available, a "Bain Satin" nutritive shampoo is $32 for example. Kathy talked about Kerastase without pushing it or trying to make add on sales. Its a bit pricey for me and I didnt feel pushed into buying it. Be aware that the metered parking is only 2 hours! I got a fine after not realising my color and cut had taken more than the two hours expected.

Was not the best nail place to go to. My bf and I went and had planned too get 2 of the hour essential pedicures. We got there at 2:45 and left at 4:05? Yet we still paid full price. very expensive for service provided. While we were trying to enjoy ourselves another worker was arguing with her on her cell phone. extremely unprofessional but did add humor to the situation. Quite bummed that the foot massage lasted 30 seconds and we didnt even get calve massages. That was the main point of going for us personally. The manager and the pedicure girl were kind just Definitely disappointed with service :(

Went here to get my hair done for my bridal photos and I didnt know anyone in the area. The girl doing my hair did not do what I told her to at all. Even halfway through, I corrected her and showed her the photo of what I wanted (and it wasnt unrealistic) and she kept doing what she wanted to do, a bun. My bridal photos are un-flattering because of my hair. Plus, they over-charged me big-time. $80 for a bun? Youve got to be kidding. Also, the other staff were snotty and did not care to notice how unhappy I was when I was paying. Oh and parking was a pain.

Was apart of a bridal party and had quite an unpleasant experience. A girl who did my make up made a comment about my skin not being the best and that it would be best to airbrush me, and failed to mention there was a $25 additional charge! Not only was the make up expensive, it did not look professional whatsoever. My hair was also curled and braided but lasted about 10 minutes before the curls fell and had to have my hair re-braided. Hate to post a bad review but it was truly unacceptable work with outrageously expensive prices. Do not recommend!
