Negative 5 stars!!! On May 23, 2016 my wife was working out with a personal trainer who got very verbaly aggressive with her. He accused her of saying things she had not. When she said, " I have said nothing, I have been quiet." He called her a liar. He said he could not work with a liar and she needed to have a different trainer. My wife had to end the session and leave the situation due to the emotional destress it was causing. The aggressive nature of the trainer made her feel unsafe.Their are several witnesses to the incident as well ones who saw the severity at which the attack had inflicted. This is completely unprofessional and violates the trainers certification code of ethics and conduct. We have made a more than a fair request that my wifes agreements be voided on the grounds of unprofessional misconduct of the trainer and negligence of O2. Justin Mascho the area manager sees no fault on the part of the trainer and has said he intends to uphold the agreement. The agreement is an adhesive contract that is unfair. In the payment default policy section, O2 basically says if they determine your behavior to be undesirable they can cancel you membership and you must pay out the agreement. What about their conduct and behavior? My wife pays for a professional service that should be held to higher standards of conduct. The trainers actions, conduct and unprofessionalism was way beyond the standards of civil decency. I have yet to recieve a response by the head of HR, or the CO. My wife has yet to get an appropriate apology. To me this type of customer service is unheard of in Wilmington. We are a local town with support for our businesses and fellow Wimingtonians. A business in our area that allows, condones and handles matters as such as this the way area manager Justin Mascho has chosen is unacceptable and should not profit in our area.

Where to even begin? My TERRIBLE experience with o2 fitness was definitely not what I had hoped for, and this is coming from a former personal trainer who knows what gym etiquette is supposed to be like. I contemplated joining this gym for months but finally took the leap in January and joined. My first few visits went well, then it all went down hill. Every month they would tell me that I had not paid my membership so they drafted an extra fee (usually about $20 or so..at one point it was about 40) that resulted in me having to go to my bank and have a formal document printed to show that they had in fact drafted the original price out of my account and take it to the gym to prove to them in person since I could never accomplish anything via telephone. That took hours out of my busy schedule and they were never apologetic for it (I had eyes rolled at me and they acted like I was bothering them) and they NEVER refunded me the extra money they took from me. This happened every single month. I recently moved out of state and when I went into the gym to cancel my membership they rudely told me I could not. They were very harsh with their following comments saying things like "why would you even want to cancel?" with a look of utter disbelief and disgust from the person working the counter. Why would I pay $44 a month "just in case I ever came back from Georgia?" I was told to cancel by email and they walked away. The equipment itself was nice and Shelly taught great pilates classes but aside from that I was thoroughly disappointed by this gym. Also on one occasion I had a friend who had her stuff stolen out of her locker as well. My 7 month membership was not what I had planned and I ended up paying twice the amount to go their as I should have. -Kylie

The gym is large, clean, and well equipped its superior to Mayfaire in that respect only. The problem is the sales staff over promise and show you everything including the upstairs "training" area. I specifically joined for a few specialty items up there and explained that in detail! No Problem sales said. The real problem starts with a few of the trainers, especially the steroid abusing short guys with egos/attitude. You arent told up front that area is not really general use. You have to "yield" to trainers. Thats ok except the roid bots believe that "yield" means stop your set if they want that equipment, dont get within 10 feet of where I am "training" (training means mostly standing and talking and milking their clients), and its ok for them to interrupt your sets or crowd you or just be rude. It is especially frustrating when their "training" is some nonsense movement in the middle of everything!!! They need better people/relationship training and customers need to be told up front youre "second or third class seating" in the upstairs training area. Basically if you arent paying them for "training" stay out is the attitude!!!

I love that they offer ballet barre but they need to offer it more. Same with Zumba...Zumba is only Saturdays and Sundays!! What? These particular classes are super full every time and its hard to get a spot unless your early. Please get us some Zumba during the week!! Sunday barre was added but its wayyyy early. Less body pump, more Zumba!! But the classes are fun with awesome instructors! Most of the staff is friendly except one blonde at the desk who can be pretty indifferent and borderline rude. The trainers seem to want people not training out of their way at all times. Sorry but we all pay to use the gym weather or not we are paying you for training or not... This is an issue at mayfaire big time. I refuse to even go to mayfaire. But so far this gym is mostly clean (bathroom toilets need improvement...they smell), 99% friendly desk staff and has a good variety of classes.

The gym is okay. Its small and crowded at peak times, and it can be noisy. The real problem comes if you decide to cancel. O2 claims that you can have a monthly membership, but in reality, they charge an annual membership no matter when you cancel. In addition, you have to give 30 days notice of cancellation and you still have to pay the next month. If you cancel on July 1, then you are charged for August and the annual membership. This is ridiculous. Also ridiculous is the fact that you have to cancel in person with a manager and have to make an appointment. When I cancelled, I had to wait 15 minutes past my appointment time because the manager didnt bother to show, and I had to talk to another manager who asked nosey questions about why I wanted to cancel and other personal details. So no, I definitely would not recommend 02 Fitness.

Horrible experience. These individuals lied multiple times. They would make promises and not deliver on them. O2 Fitness doesnt even have Olympic weightlifting equipment for women. They are sexist and are not above gossiping about their clients in front of others. I have worked out at many different gyms in town over the last 13 years I have lived here. I strongly encourage you to stay away from this company. You will definitely regret getting a membership here.

We were transferred here from the WAC. Unlike the WAC, it has no Newcastle Beer, no racquetball courts, no basketball courts, no pool, no steam room, and lacks many other amenities. On cold days, the hot water does not work. I am told that they know about this but do not want to fix it. The COO initially indicated they might provide coffee and newspaper (as did the WAC) but then changed their minds. AND ON TOP OF ALL THIS, THEY CHARGE MORE!
