I have had great experiences at every Snap I have ever been to with the exclusive exception of this location on Hoadly Road, on the border of Dale City, VA and Manassas, VA. Snap Fitness has a club reciprocity clause in all contracts, providing members with the ability to work out at any Snap location. In fact, the in-club marketing materials use the phrase "work out where you want, when you want". This club refuses to abide by that clause and will refuse service to members with a valid membership from other Snap locations. To put it into perspective, I pre-paid a lot of money to a Snap location in Texas, with the precise intent to work out at multiple locations, including Manssas VA. When I visited this gym, the discourteous and unprofessional manager, Thane Russo, denied me my contractual right to work out. He threatened and actually did call the police to issue me a criminal trespass warning baring me from visiting the location. It should be known that this action was taken without any provocation, although to save face with the Snap brand, the club has attempted to employ any justification they can come up, including - "Member broke the rules", "Member is hostile", "Member owes us money", etc. Each of these are complete non-truths and are substantiated without any shred of evidence - something very amusing given the fact that all Snaps have 24 hour video surveillance. Wouldnt a rule-breaking, hostile visitor leave at least some evidence on the video surveillance? These nonsensical excuses are all very outrageous and humorous, but have no merit. In addition to the above denial of service, this club manager has also been extremely unprofessional, and has cussed at me on 2 separate occasions, no fewer than 5 times. He is very hostile and has a general threatening behavior about himself. In general, he is not the type of person I care to be around given the choice. The independent owner of this club was a reasonable man the few times I had interaction with them, but each of those interactions occured prior to any engagement with the unprofessional manager. I am very disappointed in this owners failure to make any attempt to resolve this issue. This behavior is implicit support for the unprofessional manager, and is indicative of an owner who does not value the customers experience, and ultimately therefore has general disregard for his business. It is due to that perspective that I must advise any potential customers of this location to look elsewhere for their gym needs. This club may let you work out if you sign up here directly, but rest assured that with ownership such as this, the life of your membership could be cut short when the club fails - or perhaps sooner when the unprofessional manager decides to breach the contract and have you removed by the police!

My husband and I have been going to this gym for about a year and find that it meets most of our needs. I do wish theyd lose or move a couple of the ellipticals and add a free standing squat rack. The problems here are some of the inconsiderate members who refuse to re-rack their weights. We usually go at about 4am and it often looks like a large, angry toddler didnt put his toys away the night before. We used to take the time to put things away, but no longer do so. Also wish theyd limit the volume on the tvs over the treadmills. We dont want to listen to the morons on CNN rehashing the same thing over and over and over again while were trying to work out. We even purchased earphones, but can still hear the tvs because one old dude comes in and turns the tv all the way up in the mornings. It also affects our ability to communicate during our workouts. Some signage to those who do the erratic circuit training that they must yield to other members who wish to work in would be nice. There have been times when weve gone in to work specific bodyparts, (because thats how WE train) but theres someone doing some kind of circuit who thinks they can tie up the entire gym for their routine. This isnt acceptable and it shouldnt be left to us to police the actions of others. We pay for our membership, just as they do. The business could do a better job of monitoring the video and taking action against those who arent doing their part to keep this gym clear and ready to use for other members.

I go to this location. While it meets all my needs in terms of my workout, the customer service is terrible. The staffed hours claim to be from 10 am to 7 pm M-Thurs and 10-5 on Friday with some weekends hours scattered in. Well, I need to update my debit card on file and of course no one answers the phone. I give the owner the benefit of the doubt and go up there to do it in person, and, of course, not even there. I cant tell you how many times Ive been there and it wasnt staffed during said hours. Now, I cant even go workout because the owner isnt responsible enough to abide by his own advertised hours. So damn annoying.

This location is convenient and ample enough to meet the needs for those looking for a place with no frills (i.e., classes, personal trainers, etc.). It has elliptical machines, body part-targeted weight machines, and free weights. There is always one staffer on site during normal operating hours and hes there to help with new member registration or general questions. Additionally, it contains an individual sauna. All in all, what I like most is this place is open 24/7, even on holidays.
