Planet Fitness is excellent. First, let me address some negative reviews. Outdoor Life, the 10 dollar plan is for people that simply want to workout and dont care about tanning beds, massage and the such. It is NO different than the Regency charging a premium to use the freaking pool or take classes. For the 10 dollars you STILL get full access to the gym UNLIMITED. The only thing the 20 a month gets you is the ability to bring a partner, 50% off drinks, and massage/tanning. Theres is no bait and switch and they never have advertised it as such. Theyre open every day of the week, and the machines in both locations ive visited are serviced regularly and clean at all times. The staff has always been exemplary, and the other people working out in the gym mind their business and are overall nice. As for the bathrooms, Ive been a member of the Rocky Mount one for well over a year, and Ive yet to see a gender swapped person in the restroom. Your mileage may vary, but you can always get a personal trainer and stay at home if you worried about whose in the restroom with you.

I just joined, but dont really recommend the place. Im doing it for financial reasons, they are cheaper - thats about it. They dont enforce ANY bathroom policy. I asked specifically about those who want to be male one day and female the next, then switch again. I was told, "we are a non-judgment free zone and you may use whatever restroom you choose regardless of what you look like". If you join, proceed with caution as much can be lost in just one view of accidently seeing something you didnt want to. If someone wants to just be in the female locker room and be totally male, it appears they let that happen and you can do nothing about it. In their view it is I who have the problem as I am "judging" (their words there!) and I should change my views and be ok with members of switch gender changing clothes in the same locker room with my daughter and I. With all that said, I still joined for financial reasons - Im not sure if I will be able to stay? Time will tell.

Outdoor life

I would not recommend joining PF. They want you to use the black system, the $10 is to get you in the door. It is a bait and switch tactic. Which I believe is illegal in NC. The more expense plan includes tanning beds, massage chairs etc. Also you can use PF in other towns! Really, when on VACATION the resort or motel has a exercise room. They are no cheaper than any one else, especially when you add the $39 fee in Feb that is once a yr. We have plenty of family owned gyms in the area that are good and use fair business practices. I will say this though, they do refund your money.

I had zero problems with PF when I was going to Rocky Mount. Only reason I quit was because I no longer worked in that town and getting there was a problem. I am super jazzed they are coming to Wilson. I disagree on the price. The 20 a month plan with the yearly fee comes to 279 a year vs the average 45 for most gyms which comes to 540 with no tanning benefits. #my2centsworth

Very nice facility, but the fans need to be turned down as well as the AC. I have never been to a gym that is an ice box with fans blowing on you the entire time. I have been to PFs all over the country, Niles, OH; Fresno CA; Erie, PA; Milville, NJ, Anderson, SC, none of the facilities had fans blowing full blast and the ac on when it is 45 degrees out side......

Love Planet Fitness. Its budget friendly, clean, the equipment is kept up, and the staff are friendly and helpful. I hadnt been in a gym in 7 years before I joined and I was scared to start back, but I am so glad that I didnt let that stop me. Im eight weeks in and have been amazed at my progress so far. Thanks PF for helping me reach my goals!

we really like the place people are super nice, enjoy the machines, never been in had to wait on any piece of machine, they have a lot of lockers to store your bags and personal things. ever machine has a diagram on how to use it, if that not clear the people will be happy to show you how to use it. they are very family friendly place

A string misleading claims that with a black card membership you can bring a friend but would not allow the friend to use the services very dissatisfied also they have a sign stating out front that start a new membership with only a dollar but yet they prorate everything for the whole month

Transferred from Murfreesboro, Tennessee thinking it would also be a 24/hr gym, was totally wrong. Wish they could at least make it 24 hours Monday through Friday. So, So friendly employees at night are always busy talking on their phones! Other than that very clean Gym.

The benefits of Planet Fitness (Im a member in another city) dont apply here. Its not 24 hours, the staff are too busy with their personal conversations and my Mom was told to go home and sign up online when she went to sign up. Good luck in Wilson. Youll need it.

Nice place but cant have gym bags on the floor and didnt tell us until we already started our workout so i left because i wouldnt let them hold my bag at the desk . Then they made my friend leave because i left . Not a good impression for an Grand Opening day !!

Friendliest staff ever! Even the other guests are super friendly! Spacious, and well kept up! Plenty of equipment, never a wait. Highly recommended joining! You wont regret it. Start and become a better version of you than you ever thought you could be!

Comparing this PF with others that I have been to, you couldnt ask for a cleaner gym or more helpful staff. My experiences here were always great. It can be rather busy around 530-6, but very much open at other times.

I love them staff they are amazing everything is always so clean and spaced out! Nobody judges you there it all about boosting one another! The tanning beds are always so clean! All around a great place to workout!!

Nice gym but people working are rude and dont know their own policys kicked me out for not letting them hold my gym back at the front desk waited until I had started my workout before they told me

It is a clean and well organized gym with specialized workour rooms like a 30 minute workout room for people that want to get in and out of the gym quickly and still get a good workout.
