We ordered five windows, as well as a storm door and entry door, for our seasonal lake cabin in September 2016. The windows and doors were installed in May 2017. We arrived at our cabin on May 14, 2017, following the window and door installation. Before we even entered the cabin we could see that the entry door was not the design that we had ordered. When we contacted Jesse, the rep from Western Products who had met with us and written the order, he tried to convince us that the door we had received would be ok. Although my husband physically showed him exactly what door design we wanted, he emailed "As the contract states, "half glass 2 panel Smooth Star door", any change of the door would incur additional charges." We totally agree that he wrote up the contract/order incorrectly. When he stopped communicating with us, we then connected with Gary, the sales manager. Initially he was apologetic and understood that we did not get the door we wanted, not even close. After a few emails and phone calls, his tone and demeanor changed and he informed us that we would need to pay an additional $200.00 for installing the door we had wanted all along. He also made a snarky comment about us writing a bad online review. (BTW, both installers were extremely respectful and completed their work well.) So, if you like surprises, even when you pay over $12,000 to a company for their products and services, then Western Products is the company for you. If you like to be blamed for a companys mistake, then Western Products is the company for you. If you like to pay additional costs for something that you had already paid for, then Western Products is the company for you. We will never do business with Western Products again nor would we recommend them to anyone based on our disappointing experience. Response to owner: We were told that we need to pay an additional $200.00 to receive the correct door, which we had described and believed had been ordered last fall. It turns out that a door not anything like we wanted was initially installed. So we are being financially penalized for the reps mistake. The reputable thing to do would be for Western Products to admit their mistake, cover additional costs, and replace it without pointing their finger at customers who do not bear any of the responsibility for the mistake. Question: We have smudges where some product was used to fill nail holes on the wood trim around the windows. Due to the issue with the door, which we were forced to pay $200 to correct Western Products mistake, we tried to live with that situation. However, visitors have noticed and commented on the smudges. Please let us know how Western Products plans to correct that unsightly look. Hopefully we will not be expected to pay additionally for that as well.

We will never do business with Western Products again nor would we recommend them to anyone based on our disappointing experience. We had to pay $200.00 to replace the faulty door and get the door we originally described to the salesman, Jesse. Western Products took no responsibility for their mistake and simply switched out the doors. We were billed for their error. I requested help online two months ago regarding smudges on each nail hole on our windows but have not received a response. Apparently once Western Products receives their payment they do not bother to deal with their customers. This was an extremely disappointing experience for us and we would never recommend Western Products due to the shady way we have been treated.

I recently had windows and doors installed by Western Products. I worked with Craig out of the Jamestown, ND location. The work was done professionally and done with care. I am satisfied with the work the installers did at my house. Customer communication was lacking quite a bit and it took them a long time to respond to questions and concerns. It also took a long time for projects to be completed. My windows were ordered in early July and werent installed until October. Same for my doors, as they were ordered in October and not installed until two days before Christmas. I have a couple of small issues with the doors and installation and should they get completed i will update the review with how that was handled. In my case, I have a South facing door that we had painted black and put on dark hardware, however, the sun shines so brightly through my attached storm door and on to my nice wood door, the door handles and wood itself is hot to the touch. It would have been nice to have been told from the experts that this would happen upon ordering. We would have gladly ordered a storm door with an installed shade to protect our front door. Im hoping Western takes care of me and I will update the review if they do. Update** 1/12/2016 I was contacted the day I wrote my above review and notified that in 20 years of doing doors, theyve never had this problem. Which is neither good or bad in my book. I was sent an email from the salesman, Craig in Jamestown saying "I called the company to make sure they do not have anything and Im sorry they do not I will keep thinking about that if I come up with anything I will call you. Craig" So its looking like im on my own for troubleshooting my hot door problem. Disappointing to say the least.

Our home was 15 years old, but unfortunately the shingles were already going bad and needed to be replaced. One of my concerns was making sure the job got done in a timely manner so that it didnt start raining in the middle of the project. I contacted a couple of local companies to get a bid. Western Products was very competitive with their bid. Adam was our Western Product sales rep. and he did a great job of keeping us up to date on when they would be coming over to do the work. That was important since we have a dog in the house and he would be freaking out if no one was home with him and he saw people going up ladders on the house, and hearing people walking on the roof. Adam called one afternoon and told me they were just finishing a project and would it be OK to start on our house. Luckily someone was home to settle down our dog, so I gave them the go-ahead to start. They started mid afternoon the first day, and were done shortly after noon on day two. My neighbor came over later and commented on how fast the project was completed, and how good of a job they did. Im glad I chose Western Products to re-shingle my home. Later that spring another home in our neighborhood had a different company re-shingle their home and it took them a week to complete the job. A few months later that homeowner walked by my house and asked who shingled my home and I told him Western Products. He said he wished he had chosen them over the company he used because of how long it took them to get the job done. I would recommend Adam and Western Products to anyone who needed to re-shingle their home.
