I will never recommend this company to anyone. I had them out for a tune up for my air conditioner that has worked perfectly for 12 years with NEVER having a tune up. From the moment he stepped foot in my door - he began a "scripted" conversation - building a case as to why I needed both a new heating and air conditioning unit. He struggled to find anything wrong with the A/C unit but was still adamant that it needed to be replaced. He reluctantly cleaned the outside of the unit and then proceeded to leave me an estimate for over $800 for parts that he predicted will fail any minute. Well, fate would have it that about 10 days later - my air conditioner wouldnt cool properly anymore. I will never use this company and I make my feelings known on any format (NextDoor/Angies List etc.) and to any person who will hear me when asking for a good heating and cooling person. There is no doubt in my mind, this guy tinkered with my unit in order for it to fail. Adding insult to injury - this guy tried to use the ultimate scare tactic that by saying that if I loved my family I would replace my units so that we dont all die of carbon monoxide poisoning. NEVER use this company. ****UPDATE**** on 8/24/17 - I had a reputable Heating and Air Company out to evaluate my air conditioner. After a few quick temperature readings, we headed out together to the outside unit. I watched as they took apart the back cover and quickly identified the problem. LEWIS "the crook" CARTER from HELP Heating and Cooling had taken the caps to my refrigerant valves which left them with a slow leak that was causing the problem. These caps are standard issue with any A/C unit and HELP is the only company that has serviced this unit after installation. After 1.5 pounds of coolent and a very honest and transparent company to validate my assumption, my air conditioner works great. After this shocking, deceptive discovery - I place a call to HELP to disuss the situation as you have suggested in your reply, but no one has ever returned my call. I am still waiting.

I got a leak on my AC unit that needed repaired. The repairman tried very hard to convience me to buy a new one but all it needed was a common repair and the refilled which he eventually did on his second trip out. Then they get you to sign up for their "Club Membership" for a year of routine maintenance which is normal and works well with reputable companies. So on the first visit this guy walks up to my unit and pulls the capacitor out and says it bad, but he can put a new one in for $285. Its about a 10-50 dollar part at the most and just takes a second to plug in, he never put a meter on it or anything and typically you can tell when a capacitor is bad when it is burned up and/or the motor wont start. I told him to put it back in and just finish the routine maintenance. He put it back, placed the panels back on and left without doing any routine maintenance cleaning and testing. Then when I tried to cancel my "club membership" I talked to them on the phone and cancelled it but I would continue getting billed until the contract ran out. Contract ran out "ding" another charge, I called them up and they said you have to cancel it by email, so I tried to send an email from 4 different devices to the address they gave, my email address has been blocked from sending them email so I cant cancel my acount. So I call them again and they said I have to cancel by mail and will take 21 days to process. These people are outright thieves do not deal with them at all. Their F rating on BBB tells the true tale.

I highly recommend Jeremy. His helpful and professional attitude towards the entire inspection was a refreshing change from other contractors we have used in the past. His knowledge of all the different types of systems in my house was impressive. For inspecting a 100+ year old house on the river that has been underwater several dozen times, Jeremys ability to explain all the inter workings in easy to understand terms made (something I was literally dreading to deal with), a thoroughly pleasant experience. From my past experience working with HVAC or electrical businesses, most have all ended up being a less than happy experience. Either the person wont explain what is going on, or just changes things without clearly spelling out what was wrong in the first place. This was the exception to the rule on how a business should operate. From the pleasant call ahead from Cindy, letting me know Jeremy was on the way, all the way through to the end where absolutly everything was discussed and spelled out. Everyone was very professional in all aspects of the process. As a veteran, my spouse is a veteran an my son is a veteran, we appreciate what is being done in helping veterans causes. Thank you! Also, I am writing this review, not because I was badgered into it, but because no one badgered me into do it. I actually wanted to write an honest review for the team who helped me when I needed it.

I needed to replace my furnace and I called several companies. Only three called me back and actually came to my house. Thompson was the only company that sent someone I felt I could trust. I later found out every Thompson employee is criminally back ground checked and guaranteed drug free. Must be why everyone I dealt with was so professional and clean cut. Thompson Sent George to my home and he went over all of my options. I told him about my problems with hot and cold spots in my home and he assured me the Thompson Ultimate furnace was the way I needed to go. I scheduled the install and I have to say I have never had a more courteous and competent group of service people in my home. They worked diligently and efficiently cleaning up as they went. They helped me even clean up the area behind the old furnace before installing the new unit. I was completely satisfied. This story gets even better... everything George promised me happened my upstairs is more comfortable than ever before.. Also my other rooms are more comfortable than ever. I just received my new gas bill and I was shocked IT was the lowest bill I have ever had during the 12 years I have been in this home. Thanks Thompson for doing everything you promised I could not be more pleased with your company or your service. I would recommend Thompson to anyone... Also they were the only company who actually showed up on time

I just had the misfortune to need service to my heat pump/ac unit. I called last evening to get an appointment set. They called me this morning and asked if today between 1 - 3 pm would work; of course I said YES! Jerry B. arrived on time, introduced himself and immediately made me feel that I had gotten a true professional. I told him the dogs were secured in the garage and he could move about as necessary. He said, "I love dogs, let them in." He checked a few things, hooked up some gauges and tested other things. Jerry found the problem quickly, made a phone call and said he needed to go get a part. He left saying hed be back soon and install the needed part. He was! After that install, the unit was up and running very efficiently! I cant say I was happy about the cost of the part but, that was out of his or my control. The house was cool within the hour. Jerry did also mention that the unit was an older R-22 system and not as efficient. He also said the unit would really need to be replaced in the not too distant future. I cant say I wasnt expecting that. The bottom line for me was; I got a professional AC guy, He diagnosed and fixed the issue, and gave me honest information about my current unit. He wasnt at all pushy about buying a new unit now. I know he has saved my unit for a bit longer, so I can be prepared to upgrade later. Thanks Jerry!
