DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR CAR MESSED WITH! IF YOU ARE A WOMEN, they WILL try to RIP YOU OFF! DO NOT let these people work on your car!!! Gave me and my wife 2 different estimates for the same job with a $200 difference. Then we took it somewhere else, turned out it did not need a repair at all. They wanted to charge $600-900 to do nothing. The positive reviews here look like they were written by Pep Boys managers to me. On another occasion, they said they repaired my wheel baring.. 2 months later had to take it to another place who told me they never changed the parts. So they charged me over $600 that time to do nothing. They also disconnected wires to get me to come back and have them repaired. Luckily, I knew how to fix it. On another occasion, they put a bad starter in my car, refused to give me a refund for the full amount, lied about what they checked during their $90 inspection, and in general treated me like dirt!! After taking my car to them I needed 3 separate tows. After charging for a new battery, and a new alternator, it turned out to be a corroded cable which I had told them to check when brought it in for repair. They said it was not the cable, but after threatening to sue them for almost killing us on the road, they suddenly discovered the corroded cable and all was fixed. I am certain they did not repair the problem on purpose, and the repair men even joked about it in front of us - no shame that they were ripping us off. I gave them the option of looking at my car after the first time I needed a tow - during a trip to Maryland - a trip I had mentioned I was taking to the service worker - and not only did they do nothing about the bad part that was in my car ( I had to go some where else and pay more to find out that the starter they installed was bad!!) They said they couldnt check the starter without first charging me for the largest battery and if I wanted the smaller battery that would also work they would charge me so much in installation it would cost more than a more expensive battery - a clear scam!! AND even once I knew the part was bad and had come back for my money - the service manager defended the fact he hadnt inspected the part now proven bad without first charging me for a battery!! THE GULL!! HOW DARE HE!! ANYWAY - after taking my car to two other mechanics - I found out that they completely scammed me out of $800 dollars and only paid back $250 - an amount I contest - I had my work receipt and everything!! DO NOT HAVE WORK DONE ON YOUR CAR HERE - THEY USE BAD PARTS AND HAVE A HORRIBLE ATTITUDE!!!! They are total SCAMMERS, will lie to you, charge you for parts they did not change and disable your car in ways that might KILL YOU on the highway.

The service here was absolutely terrible. Unfortunately I had a flat tire and I needed a little help with patching it. It was 5:30 so close to their closing time which I understand everyone wants to get home. I know the feeling but in my business customers always come first and if I ran my small store the way this business handled themselves today we would be closed down. But I guess when you are a big chain customer service isnt a value or priority. When I walked up to the counter the man ignored me for at least two minutes. He didnt even look up to acknowledge I was standing there. Then when he finally did look up he seemed annoyed to be bothered by another customer. I told him my situation and his reply was "honestly I dont think we can help you tonight." He said it was too close to closing time. Like I mentioned earlier I understand that they only had a half hour left and that everyone wants to get home. He failed to mention that I could buy a tire repair kit and do the work myself and he in fact offered no other alternatives for what I could do. Finally after him starring at me clearly waiting for me to leave I asked if he knew of anyone who could help me tonight. "Walmart probably could." Was his reply. I left the store and called my father who told me to go back and buy the repair kit. But instead I took the clerks advice and bought it from Walmart. If they dont want my business I see no need in giving it to them. I definitely will not be coming back here for any type of service and dont recommend them to anyone looking for help or good customer service.

I took a flat tire in to Pepboys to get patched. They mentioned that if I was a rewards member, I would get it for free. So I signed up, and was then told I had to wait at least 24hours before I could get it fixed. The next day, I dropped off my car with the spare tire on it, and the flat one in the trunk to have the flat tired fixed and an oil change. They verified that they would price match the Midas across the street for with the oil change... so I left. 2 hours later I got a call saying they can not patch the tire, but they had a comparable tire they could sell me (of course they do!). I declined and went it to pick up my car. Upon arrival, they said they couldnt price match Midas unless I had something printed out (EVEN THOUGH YOU CAN SEE THE MIDAS PRICE FROM ACROSS THE STREET). Took the tire to 2 other places, and they both said Pepboys was trying to BS me, the tire can easily be patched. The second place even did it for free. To recap, AWFUL service. Constantly tried to screw me over and up-sell products and services. I WOULD NOT recommend them at all, and they have lost a customer for life.

Parts people are wonderful on domestics, especially Dave (really knows Fords well), and also George and Dan. Some of the guys dont favor imports, but I know everyone has their favorites. Im an import guy driving a Ford, I dont like the vehicle, but I appreciate the cheapness and availability of parts, and help from people like Dave. I can show them a part without knowing what it is and they can get it. I can describe my troubles and theyll tell me what to look at, where to start, and or say well its usually that. Theyve also told me what I dont need and kept me from replacing a whole chain of parts I didnt have to. Theyve all gone beyond what they had to for me and I really appreciate it. In short I do my own repairs, but its always a challenge for me, and they provide the diagnosis and tips I need to succeed with the help of the Chilton car book. Ive not dealt with service on repairs, but Ive chatted with their people twice when they werent working on my car and theyve offered helpful suggestions.

My check engine light was on, and my car had been shakey. I came in to get a diagnostic to find out whats causing it, and to fix whatever it was. After a half hour, they tell me what the code pulled and said was wrong with it. They hadnt even run diagnostic yet. Another hour and a half later, they finally came out to tell me whats wrong. They quoted an hour to fix it, So I finally decided to have someone come pick me up. It took them two hours to fix it. This is ridiculous. The least they could have done is tell me it would take a while in the first place, so I could have had someone come pick me up earlier. Instead, Ive wasted over 4 hours of my day. Tell me, why does it take an hour and a half to run a damn diagnostic? Really? I will absolutely not be back to this location. Also while I was here, a man got an oil change, left, and was back shortly after. He said they had spilled oil all over his engine and it had caused a fire. Good job guys. Hire people who arent incompetent and know what theyre doing.
