In short: I had a bad experience with this Midas location. It was the first Midas I had ever gone to and it will be the last. I took my car in for a brake change. I knew before hand that I had plenty of other problems as well, but it is an older car, my brakes were grinding on rotars, and I just had to do it. They worked with my schedule and that was what got me in there. So I arrived, waited 2 hours until they finally pulled my car into the garage. I then waited another two hours while they did the free full car inspection (really, all I wanted was my back brake pads changed) and then produced a quote for me. The quote came and my mouth dropped at the more than $2,000 they wanted me to spend, from things like a dirty air filter, a battery (which worked perfectly fine) that had less than brand new power and they said needed replaced, oil change, tie rod removal and replacement, a new set of tires, a new front driver ball joint, new rotars, calipers, and brake pads...plus more. The list is two pages long. I told them before hand that I only wanted my back brakes changed. I can see why they suggested the full caliper, rotar, and brake pad expense as my caliper on one side was stuck in place, but this was seriously overboard. It was fine though. I expected nothing less. People try to make as much money as they can (especially when they think the customer isnt going to second guess them). All was fine. I just told them I was going to drive my car home so I could discuss this huge quote with my husband who was at work at the time and then I would give them a call tomorrow if I needed anything done. They told me it was absolutely not safe to drive home and indicated that I should have someone come pick me up. Is this just a way to keep my car in the parking lot so they will be able to repair it later on? Maybe, but I dont know for sure. I had someone come to the shop and follow me home just in case something happened. The car was fine going home. When my husband arrived home, he heard the quote and had basically the same reaction as I did. He removed the wheels to see all these crazy, "dangerous" issues I had going on. They had LEFT A LUG NUT OFF of my rear passenger tire. He was irate, especially since two weeks prior, I took my car for a tire rotation to different small town shop (Billys Garage in Glencoe, KY) and they finger-tightened my lug nuts on one wheel, and I didnt figure it out until my car was bouncing around on the interstate with the wheel about the fall off. Luckily, I had a lug wrench with me that day, but one of the lug nuts had broken off, and this same shop had lost another one the day they worked on it. So here we are, THREE lug nuts now gone from the car due to mechanic negligence. My husband called Jack, the manager I worked with at this Midas. He informed him of the missing lug nut that was not missing when I went in there today but was missing now (granted, he was using some strong language). Jacks reply was this: "Well why dont you go f***ing wash your dirty a** car!"...... What? What does that have to do with anything repair related? And I promise, it wasnt even that dirty! In the end, we were offered no solution to our now missing lug nut. I would also like to point something out. I could very well be wrong about this, but I feel the need to say it regardless. Take a look at the reviews in the last 8-10 months on this location. They all have several things in common: a google plus user with no other activity, pictures, or reviews on anything besides this Midas location, same punctuation and grammar usage, and they all mention how "wonderful," and "helpful," Jack is, and how he has turned the place around, all posting 5/5 stars. I will not expand my theory on this, but please take a look and make your own assumptions. Jack may very well be a great manager, but for me, he was no help, and did not care about the negligence of his employees for losing a piece of my vehicle, and was very unprofessional in denying us the solution.

I had a bad experience there several months ago, but after reading current reviews, and reading how a new manager named Jack had turned the place around, I stopped in to give them another chance. My vehicle still had the same throaty sound indicative of an exhaust pipe failure, and my check engine light has been complaining about an O2 sensor for the longest time - even after replacing the O2 sensor twice. I was happy to see a guy named Jack behind the counter, and he was clearly the manager. I told him about my previous experience, and while I did, he pulled up the quote I had been given several months ago. He flipped the screen towards me and showed me where some items just didnt make sense. He then offered to look at the vehicle himself, right away. A few minutes later, Jack showed me exactly what was wrong and then worked up a new quote. About an hour later I was out the door with a new front half of my exhaust system, which unfortunately for me included a new catalytic converter ($$$). I cant say enough about the level of confidence and trustworthiness Jack brings to the table (counter? - lol!). Turns out he is a mechanic that has watched previous managers fail and good customers walk. You can tell he is passionate about turning that around with excellent customer service. I was impressed that Jack put on his mechanics sweatshirt and was bending pipe along with his crew to get the job done - clearly he can walk the walk. If youve had porr service from this location in the past, give Jack an opportunity to make it up to you - you wont be disappointed.

I always take my car to Midas in Florence when I need an oil change. I make an appointment online and call the next day to make sure the appointment was set correctly. They do a free tire rotation with every oil change (you dont even have to ask for it like at Tire Discounters). They checked everything while under the hood and made me aware of the dry rotted serpentine belt (Ive driven on the highway when suddenly the belt dry rotten completely through in a precious vehicle and its not fun) they also made me aware of other things but not to pressure me into NEEDING them right this second. They noticed a headlight was out and threw that in at no cost due to the other costs I wasnt expecting. They threw on my license plate (I had just got because a new car and hadnt had time to do it yet) he threw it on in literally 5 seconds). Appointments are usually, if not, always at your convenience. Staff is great, they go out of their way to please you. All these one star reviews are from customers who dont realize that its not the staffs fault that your car needs some things fixed. Also, I always expect to have a little wait time at maintenance places. So to complain when you wait a half hour is a little petty. I have noticed however that most of those one-two star reviews are 2-6 years old. They seemed to have noticed your comments and taken them into consideration. Overall, Id recommend this Midas to anyone and everyone. Convenient and great, friendly service!
