I love this salon, I guess I never had any bad luck with hair salons until I moved to Dayton and I just couldnt find anybody to do what I wanted to get done... until I found Melissa at UpTown, she is great! I wanted conservative for a job interview, I got conservative... I wanted to get a little more edgy, I got it and when I decided to go all in and cut my hair super short and bleach it platinum, she did a great job as well. She is as fearless as I am when it comes to style, but she is not reckless at all. You know how some hair dresers talk you into stuff you hate? She wont, a no is a no but she is immediately on board if you come up with ideas.

Melissa is simply amazing! She cuts practically my whole familys hair and has been doing so for years! She first started cutting my hair in 1993!!! I have strayed from her 2 times since then and regretted it! I will never let anyone else touch my hair! I trust her! What I really love is that she has a passion for making people look and feel great! They excitement she has every time she does my hair is so cool! I love that whenever I go I can tell her to do whatever she wants. She has such a great eye for what color or cut will look great on me! She has yet to disappoint! You are wonderful, Melissa! Thank you for all you do for our family!!

I wantedont purple highlights and ended up with pink. She told me it was my fault for box dying my hair. I then gothe home and straightened my hair to find that my hair cut was very uneven and bottom pieces where sticking out that were not cut. I went to great Clips to get it fixed and asked about the hair color turning purple and they stated it was because the stylist did not put enough violet in the dye not because I had dyed my hair before. I payed $108 for a color I didnt want and a horrible hair cut. I WILL NOT BE BACK.

Would not recommend this salon to anyone. I walked in the door and ask about their prices (I could not get their website to come up) and a women slapped down a card on the counter and said to go to their website then walked away. I had already taken the time to drive there and was standing inside the place of business why could they not simply take a few minutes to talk to me? Maybe its because I had my work clothes on but that really shouldnt matter. I felt disrespected and will probably never go back!

Ive been going to Uptown Hair Salon for years. When I started going I had a terrible cut from a previous salon. Theresa worked with me for almost two years (my hair grows slow) to get my hair back to normal. Her suggestions have been spot on as far as color, cut and product. I trust her completely. I also work with Tina for brow waxing. I wouldnt let anyone but her touch my brows. She does an excellent job.

Walked in to hopefully set up an appointment, there were 5 employees standing at the desk, no one was friendly and no one said hello. Instead it seemed they wanted to stare me down - dont know if it was the way I was dressed or looked, but the staff was not friendly at all :( There is no way I would trust these people to do my hair.

I had Melissa and she did a beautiful job. She did exactly what I wanted and although I was open to having a short cut she stayed at the length I requested. She will definitely be my #1 go to person from now on. And everyone was super friendly!! I recommend 100%!
